Avoid steak...they grill it on a flat grill...not good! Every chef knows a BBQ grill is best. As a service member I unfortunately all too often end up taking liberty alone and being that I had a reservation for one I was expected to be stuck in a corner somewhere and forgotten about. This was not the case, at all. I was treated like a princess. The first words after I was seated were "Happy Birthday, so glad youre celebrating with us" along with a glass of chanpagne. It brought tears to my eyes. I also chose to do the 7 course tasting menu after debating whether to spend the extra money, Im so glad I did. The pork belly with pickled cherry sauce was crispy creamy cherry concoction that just flat out rocks. Our servers suggestion of the crusted rack of lamb was flavorful wonderland paired with the wine. For dessert she then suggested the lemon tart which was a delightful finish to a memorable meal. The rack of lamb was small, but very filling and tasted phenomenal. The rib eye was just as filling and cooked to perfection. The meal included complimentary extras selected by the chef between courses to help cleanse the palette. The atmosphere was intimate but not so dimly lit that you couldn't read the menu. We got three courses for $100 bucks total. I thought it was a great deal and what is nice about Andre’s is that it’s kind of hidden. The actual restaurant is a very small room with no windows. Unlike most of the restaurants here that are massive, Adnre’s can sit maybe 30 people max at one time which is nice because the place is very quiet and intimate. The décor is gorgeous. The servers are top notch and everything is served with a metal cover on the plates. It is very French, very nice, and very formal. Please don’t wear jeans and a t shirt here and ruin a fine dining experience for the rest of us. Unfortunately, your sommelier lived up to the standards of a French snob. We ordered a bottle of dry Zin, and after corking the bottle and pouring a glass he asked, "Do you have any idea what you've ordered? Because this wine is extremely dry for a Pinot Noir." Know what you are serving before criticizing us - he brought us the Zin but kept referencing our bottle of Pinot Noir. Also, if he was concerned we wouldn't enjoy it, say something before pouring a glass. The red and golden beet salad was lovely - a unique combination of interesting flavors that were great to savor. The ribeye was exceptional, where it was accompanied by a fantastic shallot sauce, roasted potatoes and carrots - delectable! Usually, it seems restaurants of this caliber serve art instead of food, where the presentation is impressive, but leaves one hungry after the meal. Not this time, where the salad and entree portions were just right. To top it off, dessert was included as well, which consisted of three banana profiteroles. These were served with additional chocolate sauce, and were the perfect ending to a great meal.
