  • "Very nice italian menu. Veal piccata was particularly well prepared. Good and fairly priced wine list. Server was friendly and very helpful"

  • "I had dined at Andrea's years ago and remember it being pretty good. I was blown away on this trip. Nice atmosphere. Friendly and helpful waiter. Excellent food!"

  • "The restaurant is a short drive from downtown New Orleans, where we were staying. The restaurant has a homey feel. The waiter we had was attentive, but not intrusive. A bottle of the house wine was very good and inexpensive for a restaurant. My wife and I had very good meals and desserts. Parking was convenient in the restaurant's lot."

  • "Andreas is simply awesome. Great crabmeat and artichoke salad, excellent lamb chops, and awesome desserts."

  • "Chef Andrea always puts on a very good meal, but it can be a little pricey. Three can eat, with wine, for $175.00. See what I mean."

  • "This was probably one of the biggest waste of money I have spent in New Orleans. The food I had ordered first came out wrong because the waitress did not know the menu. My wife ordered something and was not asked what type of sides she wanted. Also after ordering a bottle if wine the waitress did not know how to open it. I opened it myself. This place is te furthest thing from fine dining. If I had to do it again I would have gone to Pizza Hut for better service."

  • "The menu has lots of options and the food was great. It was nice that Chef Andrea was so personable and made us feel like we were his personal guest. I thought pricing was fair, It was what I usually pay at a fine restaurant. overall a very nice experience, I will be back."

  • "My husband and I had always wanted to try Andrea's. We looked forward to going on Valentine's therefore we booked our reservations mid-January. The ambience was nice, though it could use a little updating. The food was pretty ordinary & the amount of food given doesn't measure up to the price. I ordered trout topped with crabmeat, while my husband ordered the salmon, which was served over spinach. Both were pretty bland. We spent over $100 and that's not including drinks (of any sort). We could have gone to another restaurant and spent half the amount and would have received more flavor and larger portions. Unfortunately, Andrea's wasn't worth the money, but we just chalked it up to an expensive experience."

  • "Not sure if this is a reflection on the waiter or Andrea's but over an hour to get our entrees. The cocktails came out incorrect and our appertizers were not the ones we ordered. Will spend our money elsewhere in the future"

  • "The food was exceptional in quality and taste. The special menu for Valentines day was a nice touch, but was priced well above the normal cost of a meal for 2 that we have there. This is a fantastic place to eat and has a large variety to choose from."

  • "We arrived for our 8:15 reservation about 7:50pm. We were not seated until after 8:45pm. There were multiple people who were sat before us because of social status. I heard the seating lady say to her boss to " we need to seat these people because he is a doctor" that couple did not have a reservation, and that happened approximately 8:35. After the manager noted that we had been there for an extremely long time, we were eventually seated. Just to find that there were numerous tables that ere open and prepped. However past that, the waitress and waiter- outstanding. Food- outstanding. Just needs to work on the front end a lot."

  • "We made reservations for Valentine's day for our family including our 2 kids. They walked us to a table we were not happy with so we asked to be moved to another table and we were told they were reserved. So, then our horrible experience started. Our waiter walks away at least 2 times while we were attempting to order our food. We asked if there was anything we can order for the kids, he said NO! Not even an attempt to be kid friendly. We get our food, that was not very good for the OVERPRICED Valentine Menu. Our waiter NEVER checked on us once. I asked for the check, he comes back, puts the check in front of me and walks away. Didn't ask if everything was ok or if we wanted dessert. Horrible!!!!"

  • "This is a wonderful, old style Italian restaurant that has obviously been in business for a long time. The food was delicious. My husband's fish was perfectly sautéed and the sauce atop my perfectly cooked pasta was very well seasoned and tasty. Most of the servers were Italian, but alas not ours. He just didn't seem to be in the swing of things. Our drinks took forever to arrive as well as our deserts, but a very small criticism considering everything overall. The visit to our table by the owner/chef just topped off the evening. It shows the right amount of care by owner/chefs when this is done."

  • "One of my guest ordered Prime Rib and the Waiter came back 10 minutes after the order was taken and said they had run out of it. She ordered a Ribeye in place of it and the Steak had No Flavor..........."

  • "Nicely light sauces that don't overpower the flavors of the mushrooms, pasta, etc they're served over tell you that Andrea's is more "authentic Italian" than most. The menu and - mostly, again, actually Italian - wine list are both extensive. And despite the hokey dive/chain-esque plastic sign out front the atmosphere inside is quite nice (though not elegant)."

  • "There aren't that many nice places that were open for lunch in Metairie, so when I saw Andrea's Italian I booked a table for two. It was located in an odd neighborhood and from the outside you wouldn't think much of it. The place has an old world "Genuine" Italian decor (I go to Italy often), and the setting was elegant. There wasn't anyone there at 12:30pm, which surprised me. When they brought me the wine list and the menu I thought I was on the Amalfi Coast. We had a terrific lunch, and more table filled the room while we were eating. I actually would drive from New Orleans just to eat at Andrea's - which is saying a lot because there is a lot of great places to eat n NOLA."

  • "This was my second trip to Andrea's. What a wonderful place. We were in town for the Sugar Bowl and I made reservations in advance for my wife and I and another couple. While it was not their first visit to New Orleans it was their first visit to Andrea's. They loved it and I was a hero for introducing them your restaurant. Naturally I will return and I sure they will when they visit the Crescent City in future."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambience at Andrea's. We were meeting friends that we had not seen in a long time. The food was excellent, and the wait staff attentive, but not intrusive. We had a delightful meal and a wonderful time. The service was outstanding, and there was virtually no noise to distract us from a great meal."

  • "From the moment my wife and I arrived at Andrea Restaurant, the Maitre d expressed appreciation of our on-line (Open-Table) reservations. An excellent table location was provided for us to truly enjoy the 2014 New Year entertainment. Our requested waiter could not be provided for understandable reasons. The substitued waiter did all he could to assure that our evening would be as enjoyable as possible. The locally well-known band provided a very entertaining evening. Chef Andrea visited us at our table. Included within the very reasonable evening's dinner cost was unlimited time to enjoy the New Year celebration, a four course dinner with a generous selection of menu items, midnight champagne and more. Thank You Chef Andrea & Staff."

  • "We arrived on time and we were seated at our reservation time which was a plus. The menu was limited because it was NYE, maybe the full menu offers more tasty eats. We ordered 3 appetizers: Crab Cake, Crab Ravioli and Calamari. The only good one was the calamari, it had a great batter and the dipping sauce was also great. The crab cake tasted like stove top stuffing and was drowned in butter sauce. The ravioli had fishy crab taste and an unevenetful, flavorless white sauce. The Steak Filet was over cooked for a medium rare & it was also drowned in what the menu described as a "truffle sauce". I'd say this was no more than package brown gravy with mushrooms ...overall the service was really good, but the food was way under par for the price."

  • "We have been to Andrea's in the past and it is FABULOUS. In the past we have been welcomed, treated like family and the meals were divine. This was not the case on our last visit. The restaurant was virtually empty, the waiter was less than welcoming and his reaching across us to serve unacceptable. We were a group of 9 .. everyone commented how unimpressed they were with their meal. My kids ordered the EXACT thing - there was a visible difference in the portion size between the two! This attention to detail from this level of restaurant is ridiculous. My mom ordered the Snapper, so dry and no taste. Evidently someone else was in the kitchen cooking. Such a shame because in the past we loved it."

  • "My mother chose Andrea's to celebrate her 95th birthday this week (December 2013). As always, the food was wonderful. We started off with a heaping plate of fried calamari that was just right, light and crunchy. Then she had the lamb, which she pronounced "excellent" (with plenty left over for her to take home and feast on later) and I enjoyed blackened redfish that was right on the money. We topped off the meal with spumoni, her favorite, and my favorite, tira misu. In an area with a rich abundance of great places to dine, it's difficult to stand out and be noticed. Andrea's manages to be a delightful gem -- a special dining treat without being pretentious or fussy. Recommended!"

  • "This is a special occation restaurant for shure, just don't go there on Christmas, It was booked to the hilt. The kitchen was overrun with the selections that they had for Christmas dinner. it was a 45$ meal with soup or salad; main meal and desert. It took us over and hour and a half for dinner, and we took the desert to go home."

  • "We showed up 5 minutes late...I'll own that. Our fault. But then, the dinner theater began. Our party of two was seated at a 6-seat table, and the host put down 4 menus...then shuffled us off to the 2-top table. Our waiter--imagine Mr. Bean playing the part of Zorro and you get the mental image--opened the prosecco and threw the wire basket on the floor, and the cork on the table behind us (the table that remained uncleared for our whole meal) and poured the wine over my glass and onto the limp filet-of-some-whitefish I picked at for dinner. My wife stopped eating when Zorro grabbed the croutons-as-bread out of the basket with the smeared napkin from some other table and stuffed them into a new basket....then brought it to us."
