AndinaAlways a Hit!Took a guest from Orlando, FL and she loved it. Andina's has a gluten free menu and she was impressed. Food and service was outstanding as always.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMbusiness dinner............The service is very good and food terrific.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my go to favoritesAndina never disappoints. If I have guest from out of town, I have no doubt that Andina will impress them. Great food, great service. Always a unique dining experience. Who could ask for more?6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome dining experienceThe menu items were excellent as always. I had the Halibut special which was delicious. I always enjoy the service and atmosphere of Andina and make the effort to grab a reservation when I am in town. Highly recommended to anybody that loves great food with a Peruvian flair.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMVeg options!I'm grateful that Andina has a separate menu for vegetarians and vegans. It makes searching for something to eat way easy compared to the mile long list of meat choices. I would appreciate more options for vegetarians/vegans, but there are still a few favorites. If it is your first time try the stuffed yucca (vegetarian), and for an entre try the quinoa risotto. Our last visit the food was a bit dry, but all other times it has been great. Also, try the white sangria or the gringo cure all. TASTY!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AM#1 For A ReasonThis was our first time to Andina and the experience was wonderful. My fiance and I like to spend weekends up in Portland (we live in Salem) once or twice a month, just to get away from the norm and try something new. We have now enjoyed many of the top-rated restaurants in Porland, but Andina deserves a top-spot honor. The service was superb, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the energy in the place was true to what a proper Peruvian dining experience should be.
We will absolutely be back, again and again.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing RestaurantThis restaurant is one of the best in Portland. The food is really unique and tasty. They use some wonderful combinations of food that, when they come together, provide a great culinary experience. My first time here, I let my friends order a number of appetizers. I didn't think I would like many of them, but to my surprise, I loved many of them. The service is exceptional. You need to make reservations in advance as people do know this place is a gem.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMade the trip!Came to Portland for my mothers birthday. Originally came to see a play but the dinner made the trip for us. Brilliant.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways greatAndina has always been a dependable favorite and without much competition in the Peruvian cuisine. All the selections have fantastic favors and it is a great place to just order a bunch of different things with a group and share.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved everything about it.Loved everything about it. The staff was very friendly and made an effort to speak English and Spanish at the same time to accommodate their guests and keep it's identity. Would definitely go back!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Peruvian Food!Made reservations for dinner prior to a show at the Gerding. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more, the new musical or finding this gem of a restaurant. From the moment we arrived we were treated with congeniality and respect. The staff were all attentive and very helpful. We received great info and helpful hints. Never felt intruded upon yet always felt like the staff were there when something was needed. And I haven't even mentioned the food. Everything I tried, from new dishes to twists on the favorite and familiar, I was surprised and delighted. The pork stuff with fontina was delicious, as was the bread and various dips, and oh, the dessert menu! I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant, and fully intend to visit again.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFab food.My only complaint was that it was so loud that we had to ask the server to repeat almost everything because we couldn't hear her.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVERY GOODVery good and interesting dishes. Glad we went and may return.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA new favorite! We'll be returning, both for ourselves and to introduce out of town guests. We've traveled in Peru and other parts of South America and were able to enjoy some key things that we've been missing, por fin!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNoise level was a little high.Noise level was a little high. Beer menu could be better.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely fabulous! We had the mussel appetizer, along with the won-tons...what a treat! We started with Pinacoladas from the specialty menu, and went on from there - we were not disappointed - our waiter was familiar with all the house cocktails and was able to recommend drinks based on our taste preferences.
We ordered 4 different dinners - scallops, lamb stew, lamb chops, and a fish special - none of us were disappointed. A must-do!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing experienceOur whole family had a great time. The food is amazing and the service can't be beat!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMNuevo PeruvianAndina offers new and traditional Peruvian delights. We started with two choices from the tapas selections to share; then My husband enjoyed the cheese stuffed pork tenderloin with a slightly mole sauce, while I savoured every bite of perfectly cooked halibut. There were several good wine choices available by the glass. Service was attentive without feeling rushed even though clearly they were fully booked for the evening. Reservations are a must-at least on a weekend. Definitely recommend Andina and will be back on our next trip to Portland.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMknowledgeable serversAlways amazed by your wonderful staff. They know their stuff!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AManniversary lucheonThis will become our anniversary tradition! Wonderful food, staff, and overall environment! Here's to many more years of our marriage and the continuing success of Andinas! It will be our long standing date!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMSeriously - 60 employees on duty? The service was a 10. The problem is that they have way too many employees on payroll. It's almost overkill, like the owners are not interested in making a profit, but rather employing the community. Our check came to $98.00. We had waiters and servers at our table every 2 or 3 minutes. Yes, the food was excellent, but seriously? I mean if the bill came to $200, I can see the justification for the overhead, but really? OK, so the owners choose not to be selfish, but come on, this is a neighborhood restaurant and was told they have over 200 employees total. Seriously? Charging $25.00 for an entree with 60 employees on duty? I left with my head circling. It's obvious that the owners priority is employment and service over profit.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing foodAnother Portland gem! Fantastic food that's a little unusual. Hit or miss on the service though. If you are there on a good night you will have a great experience. We have been when it was off and the service was horrid. Our last visit was great and everything was terrific. Some of the best food in Portland!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Portland SpotWe go every time we come to Portland. Great food, great service.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOur meal was amazing. We lovedOur meal was amazing. We loved every bite and the bar's offerings made us want to stay all night.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable anniversary dinnerMy wife and I celebrated our 6th anniversary at andina, having read many positive reviews. The meal and food were all very delicious and inventive. I would say the service was ok: the menu is lengthy, with many terms we didn't understand, and we got little help from our server to navigate the meal.
I would recommend andina for a group or for a nice night out, but not for a special and intimate occasion. The restaurant is very loud and bustling.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThank you for everything!Thank you for everything! Sorry about the vase and table but appreciate the fast service and wonderful food! My wife said it was the best birthday ever! :-)5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMvery original and good foodall excellent food, except a bad red wine of the month.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat tasting quality food.Great tasting quality food. Wonderful service and nicely presented.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMPeruvian/South American FoodMenu has something for most everyone even if you're not into So. American style food. Dinner time can be very busy/noisy so reservations highly recommended especially on nights when entertainment is offered.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat special occasion diningMy wife and I went to Andina to celebrate our anniversary and had a very nice dining experience. The service was attentive and the food was delicious and carefully prepared.
The owner's mother came and chatted with us, and upon discovering that my wife and I had lived in Peru for a short while, had quite a nice conversation. We were also given a very kind anniversary dessert. I would definitely recommend Andina for people both new and accustomed to Peruvian cuisine.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDevine DiningDining at Andina is always a highly anticipated event. The staff is happy, the mood of the restaurant is energetic, and the food is top notch! Any choice off the menu is a winner. I suggest starting with a Pisco Sour. Andina is a must every time I visit Portland. ...5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely incredible!Everything about our dining experience was perfect. The food is unparalleled.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSavory and unique favorsThe food here is always out of the box. The octopus was fabulous, the lamb full flavored and tender. Highly recommended for lunch...no crowds!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner with a friendI love this restaurant and introduced it to a friend. We were able to get a somewhat secluded table which is less noisy than other areas. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dining ExperienceFood is never disappointing. This was my third visit and I took a friend there who enjoyed it very much. Our server could have been a little more attentive.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodOver all I did enjoy my time at Andina. There are a few small things that keep me from giving it a 5 star rating all around.
First off I think they have squeezed in too many tables so I in turn felt squeezed in. They serve bread with 3 kinds of salsa which were all delicious but the bread was served cold. Another small complaint is the limited cocktail menu and their costs, all drink were approx. $9-$10 except for the Sangria which are $5 - have a Sangria , I enjoyed mine. I had diver scallops as they were fantastic it comes with parsnip puree and although the portion looks smallish, it is a good meal. My friend had duck 2 ways and found the confit a little salty but thoroughly enjoyed the meal as well as the peruvian beer.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWho doesn't already know?Andina is my #1 restaurant in Portland. Maybe anywhere. Unfortunately too many others also know how great Andina is - so reserve well in advance. Just can't beat the cuisine. Every visit is thoroughly satisfying. Service is solid. I can't think of anything to improve.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, a very good mealOverall, a very good meal with the highlight being the purple potato and chicken terrine. We had a terrific Spanish Tempranillo along with the meal. Great education on Peruvian food!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA true gemMy wife and I live in Montana and May 18 was our third time at Andina, celebrating our son's graduation from Lewis & Clark College. Just like the first two times, the food and service were superb. We're yet to order an entree and could probably save a lot of money if we did but the small plates are just too good and too much fun. We really enjoy visiting Portland and we will be back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoy the food and serviceWe enjoy the food and service so much. It is now our favorite place and already have reservation to bring in out of state guest!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst experience from a tourist. We chose this restaurant based on the review on Trip Advisor. I had never been to Peruvian restaurant before but can say this was one of the best meals I have ever had. The ambiance and staff were wonderful and the food incredible. I am a relatively picky eater and had some concerns about my choices. The menu is extensive and has options for the discriminating and the adventurous palate.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Andina manyI have been to Andina many times and have never been disappointed. Sharing small plates is the way to go most of the times.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my 22 year old sonI took my 22 year old son who works in restaurant business in Portland. He was very impressed with the Peruvian bus boy who described the salsas, and it got better from there. His first Pisco Sour. Ken, the sommelier, picked an obscure Washington Rhone blend-fabulously paired with our food choices.
Next time in town, I look forward to returning.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMYour dining experience will be ....Warm, inviting, and the food is terrific...you will not be disappointed choosing Andina for an evening out.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it!!Love everything about Andina. When you go there you have to try the habanero vodka with passion fruit cocktail. It is a must! The tapas and entrees are all great, can't go wrong with anything you order. The service is great and when they have live music there is no better place than the bar, but arrive early or make reservations if you want a spot.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceThe food was fantastic as were the drinks, the wait staff never left me wanting. I always recommend the passionfruit habanero martini, delicious!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service!Excellent food and service! I've hosted 2 business dinners here and have not been disappointed! The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to make recommendations!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPeru in the PearlWhat a great spot! We were there on Mother's Day, and though it was packed we felt very taken care of. The waiter recommendations were spot on, and there is a very good selection of gluten free items. The yucca is most excellent! So were the tapas and entries. I can't wait to come back and start sampling the rest of the menu.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day outingMy wife and I dined at Andina on Mother's Day. Our server was very attentive and made us feel most welcome.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMfantastic presentation offantastic presentation of a mix of flavors and ingredients you won't find anywhere else in Portland.
