AndinaAbsolutely incredible!Everything about our dining experience was perfect. The food is unparalleled.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSavory and unique favorsThe food here is always out of the box. The octopus was fabulous, the lamb full flavored and tender. Highly recommended for lunch...no crowds!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner with a friendI love this restaurant and introduced it to a friend. We were able to get a somewhat secluded table which is less noisy than other areas. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dining ExperienceFood is never disappointing. This was my third visit and I took a friend there who enjoyed it very much. Our server could have been a little more attentive.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodOver all I did enjoy my time at Andina. There are a few small things that keep me from giving it a 5 star rating all around.
First off I think they have squeezed in too many tables so I in turn felt squeezed in. They serve bread with 3 kinds of salsa which were all delicious but the bread was served cold. Another small complaint is the limited cocktail menu and their costs, all drink were approx. $9-$10 except for the Sangria which are $5 - have a Sangria , I enjoyed mine. I had diver scallops as they were fantastic it comes with parsnip puree and although the portion looks smallish, it is a good meal. My friend had duck 2 ways and found the confit a little salty but thoroughly enjoyed the meal as well as the peruvian beer.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWho doesn't already know?Andina is my #1 restaurant in Portland. Maybe anywhere. Unfortunately too many others also know how great Andina is - so reserve well in advance. Just can't beat the cuisine. Every visit is thoroughly satisfying. Service is solid. I can't think of anything to improve.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA true gemMy wife and I live in Montana and May 18 was our third time at Andina, celebrating our son's graduation from Lewis & Clark College. Just like the first two times, the food and service were superb. We're yet to order an entree and could probably save a lot of money if we did but the small plates are just too good and too much fun. We really enjoy visiting Portland and we will be back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoy the food and serviceWe enjoy the food and service so much. It is now our favorite place and already have reservation to bring in out of state guest!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst experience from a tourist. We chose this restaurant based on the review on Trip Advisor. I had never been to Peruvian restaurant before but can say this was one of the best meals I have ever had. The ambiance and staff were wonderful and the food incredible. I am a relatively picky eater and had some concerns about my choices. The menu is extensive and has options for the discriminating and the adventurous palate.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Andina manyI have been to Andina many times and have never been disappointed. Sharing small plates is the way to go most of the times.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my 22 year old sonI took my 22 year old son who works in restaurant business in Portland. He was very impressed with the Peruvian bus boy who described the salsas, and it got better from there. His first Pisco Sour. Ken, the sommelier, picked an obscure Washington Rhone blend-fabulously paired with our food choices.
Next time in town, I look forward to returning.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMYour dining experience will be ....Warm, inviting, and the food is terrific...you will not be disappointed choosing Andina for an evening out.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it!!Love everything about Andina. When you go there you have to try the habanero vodka with passion fruit cocktail. It is a must! The tapas and entrees are all great, can't go wrong with anything you order. The service is great and when they have live music there is no better place than the bar, but arrive early or make reservations if you want a spot.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceThe food was fantastic as were the drinks, the wait staff never left me wanting. I always recommend the passionfruit habanero martini, delicious!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service!Excellent food and service! I've hosted 2 business dinners here and have not been disappointed! The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to make recommendations!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day outingMy wife and I dined at Andina on Mother's Day. We selected three small plates and shared an entree'. Everything we were served was delicious and artfully presented. Our server was very attentive and made us feel most welcome.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMfantastic presentation offantastic presentation of a mix of flavors and ingredients you won't find anywhere else in Portland. For such upscale food the prices were quite reasonable.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA very special restaurantI have returned to spend Mother's Day with family and friends to Andina's for several years since discovering it. The servers are very knowledgable, friendly and attentive. Each plate looks like a picture when presented at the table -- we all took pictures before we ate anything. The food, of course, was absolutely delicious -- the best we have ever had here in Portland. I can't say enough about enjoying the food. I think anyone who tries it once will be back and back again. It's perfect!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPeru in the PearlWhat a great spot! We were there on Mother's Day, and though it was packed we felt very taken care of. The waiter recommendations were spot on, and there is a very good selection of gluten free items. The yucca is most excellent! So were the tapas and entries. I can't wait to come back and start sampling the rest of the menu.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again, Andina's was delightfulOnce again, Andina's was delightful and this time it was Mother's Day brunch. The menu was full of delicious choices, and I overdid it. But this time we took the leftover food home to have for dinner, something we rarely do. One of the proprietors ("proprietess"?) always comes by with a word about the food and something about the ethnic Peruvian cuisine. This was no exception and she brought special cookies. When she learned I was gluten intolerant, they actually baked a gluten free version that we took home and was very scrumptuous. The server was so friendly and was very attentive to the food intolerances I have. Ahaaaaa ... it was all so wonderful.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAndina DeliversI wanted to take my Grandmother and Mom somewhere special and different from th normal big brunch on Mother's Day. Andina was perfect! We lucked out to have a large enough party to have our own little side room downstairs. My mom is hearing impaired and I have two young sons, and there was space for Grandma's walker! The owner came around at the beginning of the meal to thank us for coming and brought traditional Peruvian cookies for the Moms, which was a nice personal touch. The server was helpful in ordering and every option ordered was awesome! We shared tapas and my husband ordered the Peruvian version of paella. The mojitos were excellent! I highly recommend Andina!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome experienceI cannot stop smiling when I'm at Andina. From their fragrant and ambrosial white sangria to their tangy cebiche, I am in constant awe of their menu. Their service is outstanding. Our waiter made great suggestions and knew every item on the menu --- he even told us how to say octopus in spanish: "pulpo".5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI made the reservation forI made the reservation for a larger group who isn't always up for new food experiences. Everyone was thrilled with their varied selections and raved about the restaurant and the wonderful tastes. It was a a special event and a lovely experience. Perfect.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat peruvian food and ambianceI love this place. It is a great place to go with friends because you can share some great tapas with amazing flavor.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Mother's DayI took my mom here for mothers day and we had a great experience, and the food was great!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMdo againAndian is a must whenever we are in Portland. Food has never dissppointed. Our special request was for a table to accommodate three over 6ft tall of our party of 6 was meet. We look forward to our next visit. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and ready to discribe any item on menu.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service, but crowdedThe food and service were excellent, and the waitress was very kind and helpful and got my date a new glass of wine when she inadvertently spilled it. The food is pricey but very much lives up to it in quality, and the portions are surprisingly large (including the complimentary and delicious bread and dipping sauces, which I nearly ate too much of).
I like just about everything about this restaurant, except that the tables are somewhat closely-packed in the main dining room, and there's only one table for two adjacent to a window. We didn't get that table this time, and there was a large, boisterous birthday-party crowd behind us.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSlightly disappointedI've been coming to Andina for 7 years consecutively. Every year on my birthday and most anniversaries with my fiancé. Our reservation got terribly mixed up. Even though the Måitre de was accommodating, I was underwhelmed by the difference in service between the main level and the private dining section. In order to make up for the mix up they decided to seat us in the private dining section; it was beautiful, however, the service was vastly different. Our waitress, while pleasant, was not very friendly as other waitresses we have had. In addition, we were seated by the bar and it felt as if many of the bussers and servers were just standing around socializing. Love the food, as always. Just wish it was a better experience this year.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMRobust flavors and friendly serviceHad a great meal! Our server was great in helping us pace out our selections which worked out super well. Plus he had great recommendations for what to order. All the different dishes were a representation of an amazing array of flavors. Outstanding! Wine list is extensive - both by glass and bottle.Fun night out.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMet all expectationsOnce again, Andina delighted. The empenadas were fantastic - best I've ever had, the the lamb was superbly prepared woith the right amount and blend of spices. This is definitely a sure shot in the Pearl District5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the Best Pearl RestaurantsFood was outstanding but the restaurant is so energetic. This was my second visit but first at night. All the dishes we tried were excellent but the choices were so many that I need to go back to try different ones. Will be going back in the near future.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved our dinner at Andina!Loved our dinner at Andina! It was the most creative, eclectic, yet very deliciously flavored food we had on our NW city vacation.
There is nothing to improve! Compliments to the chef and staff.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI eat out quite a bit andI eat out quite a bit and found the food here EXCELLENT. I ate both lunch and dinner in one day because the menu is extensive, yet rest assured all of the dishes were unique and prepared to perfection. It is a perfect place for any groups, be it small or large, to share plates. The owner not only greeted me, but engaged in conversation. Décor is beautifully done and true to the colors of Peru. I have been recommending the restaurant to all that would listen. Unique, delicious, fun décor and neighborhood, and friendly.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTaste of the exotic.Peruvian food wasn't at the top of my list of "to dos" - One review, from someone familiar with the genre, described many of the dishes as "peasant food" - Regardless, I'd call it exotic home cooking. though the ingredients may be common, they are of outstanding quality, and many in combinations I've never had, nor thought of.
This is especially true for their drink menu. Recognizing few things on any of the menus, we discussed our likes/dislikes with our waiter, and went with his recommendations, and had an outstanding meal and evening. We didn't skimp on the quantity of dishes or drinks, yet the bill was exactly what we had budgeted.
Though I might not visit this restaurant weekly, I'd be happy to go several times a year.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in PortlandEverything you can ask for in a great restaurant. Even a great gluten free menu!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMHoppin'!Heard great things about it and could only get a late dinner reservation (10PM) for after PCS theater. Was still VERY busy when we arrived just after 10. Were seated promptly and were treated to a fantastic meal. Started with a Pisco Sour (delicious!). Had snacked before the play, so proceeded directly to main courses. I had mushroom specialty and my wife had 3 beautiful, seared scallops. All superb and all served by a waiter who was prompt, attentive, informative. An all around great experience. Wish we had sampled the small plate menu as well. Next time!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular food, great service! We lived this place . Our server was very knowledgable, the timing was perfect and the food was just superb !5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dinner ... Excellent ServiceWe had a great dinner experience at Andina's! The menu is unique, the food excellent, the service exceptional, the presentation delightful. It is a great romantic experience ... One of my top 3 favorite PDX restaurants!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in PortlandMy wife and I are constantly impressed by the quality of food and service we get at Andina. It is, without question, our favorite dinner spot in the city. Food is unique and excellent, service is prompt and courteous, this place never disappoints! You may even get a chance to talk with one of the owners, who periodically come through to check on their customers. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic..5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall plates galore! The first thing we noticed was the service. Our server knew the entire menu and every detail without hesitation. He also gave great recommendations... we ordered all of them. My favorite part about this restaurant was the number of small plates available, because I like trying as many things as possible. We ordered 4 small plates for two of us, plus an awesome creme brulee for dessert. With a bottle of wine, dinner was just about $100, which we thought was pretty good.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceWait staff were great--explained all about the different food choices. The food was excellent--fresh, uniquely flavored. We ordered all fish small plates and were not at all disappointed. No wines ordered (but the list was really extensive), but had a great mojito. I also thought this restaurant was an excellent value (but we're from DC and used to terrible prices). Be sure to make a reservation as far in advance as possible. This restaurant is rated #1 on every list I've seen and it was difficult to get in even 2 days in advance of a Friday.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodI have been here twice and the food has always been great! Much, much flavor!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent but expensive lunchA colleague and I had lunch at Andina. The shared plates are diverse, compelling, beautiful...and expensive! Four small plates shared between the two of us, plus a non-alcoholic beverage, and gratuity brought lunch to $30 per person. And we felt as if we had just nibbled a little! High by Portland standards! For lunch I would recommend with caution.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMNo Oregon visit without AndinaAs a restaurant it is like no other. As a dining experience it is what you have dreaming about. As a Peruvian representative it is the neighborhood cevichería, your picantería, your anticuchera.
You enter through those doors and you are home.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's interestingSome of the food items are interesting. But didn't feel the food is actually as good as the raves. Ambiance is great. Service was awesome!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Peruvian food andExcellent Peruvian food and Pisco Sour. Having lived in Lima for 7 years I consider myself a connoisseur on Peruvian cuisine and drinks. I highly recommend this restaurant.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food well deliveredWe had superbly prepared dishes served in a very professional manner. The service staff is always at hand if you need them but not obtrusive. Andina food is complexly yet smoothly seasoned.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite FoodAmazing menu of unique dishes, expertly prepared and served by a generous number of professional, knowledgeable staff. Loved it.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMgood servicei went to Andina with a friend. we ordered 3 dishes.
I love the first two dishes which were a salad Neikkei and fresh sashimi. the last dish was little salty. I told the waiter and the manager came.
She did not argue with me about the food (because I split in half with my friend and she finished it) she apologize and asked if there was anything she can make up for me. I said I was fine and expected to pay the full price but they got us 2 cakes and deducted my half from the final bills.
That was impressive!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a festive feast!Such a wonderful combination of flavors in each small plate meal. So many wonderful items to choose from and so great for sharing. Above all though is the ever excellent service by the Andina staff. I recommend this restaurant to anyone in town for a wonderful evening out celebrating food and friendship and it's a must for anyone in from out of town. Truly delicious!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
