Diner Reviews
  • "Andiamos presents itself as an Italian-based restaurant however the menu contained many items that were consistent with that theme (Cajun spicing for example). Not quite what was anticipated. Preparation was adequate but not particularly inspired - would rank it as very ordinary southern Mediterranean light. Perhaps this is because of its location in a trendy "hot spot" suburban neighborhood. The veal with eggplant (had them grill it rather than use breaded eggplant) was nicely prepared; the tortellini was okay but lacked substantive flavors, the fired calamari appetizer was standard food-service stuff, salmon with pasta was one of the better dished as was the chicken with pasta pomadoro."

  • "Mostly a nice meal although they had run out of one of the fish items and there was a big party so the kitchen was backed up a bit. They did provide complementary noodles and meat sauce snack to tide us over which was nice - even though it was kind of like one you get from a "Stouffers" pack. Good selection of wines and the steak was great. So overall a good experience."

  • "We had a party of 4 and all of us hadn't been to Andiamo's RO in several years. We remember the food being very good but a little cramped and noisy in the main dining area. The food was just as good as we remembered but the noise level made it a little hard to hear every word in our conversations. There was a big party seated by us but we still remember the noise level being above average from our last visit. We still a great dinner and would go back again."

  • "We had a party of 4, celebrating my sisters birthday on Saturday Night. I feel like a rock star every time , I go at this restaurant. The staff is so welcoming, friendly and helpful . Their food is absolutely great , service so good. Their staff, even it was very busy , makes our dinner for real an event. They offered us a dessert on the house, Kit-kat and they flame it for us on the table , It was delicious . My sister was very pleased with the dinner and thanked me for picking the restaurant, and she usually is not happy with my choices. Thank you Andiamo"

  • "If you haven't experienced Andiamo Royal Oak in a while, it is time to return. The menu and wine list are ever changing, and the service is truly the best in the area. Tony (the manager) and his staff are warm and professional and strive to provide the best dining experience for their patrons."

  • "I had the Sea Scallops e Crab Cakes Seared sea scallops, sweet corn and spring vegetable risotto with basil cream sauce, served with east coast crab cakes. this dish was EXCELLENT. They were featuring this item with many others for the Chef's Challenge Charity Event. This location was great, service was excellent and again the food was great."

  • "I had a wonderful dining experience this past Sunday. We originally had a reservation for 2, and family members decided to join us. The hostess (very sweet) was so helpful to make the adjustment for our group. Our server Russell was excellent. He recommended some great ap's (try the spicy calamari). I had the Filet (zip sauce amazing) and my husband who is very picky when it comes to Italian food had Homemade fettuccine with bolognese and meatballs, he LOVED it! Everything was great, service was amazing and even the manager stopped by our table to thank us. Thank YOU Andiamo, we are looking forward to coming back again !"

  • "I brought my family for dinner , this time. It was again a beautiful night . The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, we waited just a few minutes , for our table and lucky us we got a booth by the window. Leo was our server , very helpful , accommodating and knowledgable on the wine list and the menu. All of his suggestions on the wine and the meal we got were perfectly paired. I had Veal Royal Oak, what a great suggestion, free range veal with portabella , smoked cheese , shrimp and Zip sauce, WOW , still thinking of this dish. The rest of my family were very happy with meals too, but my veal was the best. Please go and ask for this dish, you will thank me for the recommendation , believe me . Thank you Andiamo !"

  • "I was looking to host a pre-party for my group prior to VodkaVodka 2014 that was within walking distance to the Royal Oak Farmer's Market, but the group was not going to all arrive at once and the size of the group had potential to vary. As such, I did not want to occupy a large table upon arrival with only a few people. The staff at Andiamo was very accommodating, allowing me to make a "reservation" for an area of high-top tables in the bar area, which was not normally done (typically first-come, first served). This allowed us room for expansion as more guests arrived, which worked well since we arrived with four and got up to about 10 before we moved on to the event. Worked out perfectly!"

  • "We had a great time at this location. All of us enjoyed lunch . We were four and all of our dishes were presented beautiful and tasted wonderful. Veal Royal Oak was something special, Mediterranean salad fresh and interesting presented, Pasta with beef tips was homemade and great, The whitefish was superb. Great service from our server Nachole. She was very accommodating to our needs. Great job Andiamo Royal Oak. Waiting forward for us next meeting in Royal Oak."

  • "Should be able to make reservations for 2...currently they will only do 4 or more. Also should be able to select type of table...ie: booth or high top table. I hate when restaurants try to seat you at a small table with chairs in an aisle way. Not a comfortable way to dine!!!"

  • "The salad was overdressed. The pasta was swimming in sauce. Flavors were ok, but nothing to come back for. The highlight was a great waiter. Very attentive and friendly"

  • "We had been here about a year ago and it was good. Saturday was horrible. The risotto was RAW we sent it back no dinner for one, the ravioli were Luke warm at best, the other two pasta dishes were no better. I will not return."

  • "We recently dined at the Adiamos in Northville MI, and we rate that experience as 5 out of 5 stars. By comparison, the Royal Oak location covered in this review falls short. Our experiences and impressions, in random order: One person of our party of seven was served the wrong dish, and by the time the correct dish arrived, the rest of our group had already finished dinner. The entrees were good, especially the scallops. Waitstaff was a bit quick to retrieve plates before some of our party were finished eating, and two of our party had to reply 'no' not finished yet . All in all, it was an enjoyable experience, but our future trips to Adiamos will be to the Northville location."

  • "This was great for a group setting. We arrived about 10 minutes after our reservation time and I think that our table was gone after that. After waiting for about another 20 minutes our table was ready. I would say that it was still a great evening. The service was good and our waiter was really nice. At the end each couple had asked for separate checks and I think that was difficult to separate them all, only thing that really took long. The food was a bit cold when we received it, but the atmosphere I guess made up for it."

  • "We went there on a lark to see if the Andiamos in a location than our hometown offered anything notable. Apparently spending 125.00 on a meal doesn't ensure a tolerable experience. We were seated at a table right by the door, even though we'd made our reservations much earlier in the day. The line of people waiting for tables were essentially sitting with us. The noise level was ridiculous. The food was mediocre- minestrone soup was tepid and oversalted. My daughter's calamari was also too salty, and all breading. The only redeeming factor was an attentive and pleasant waitstaff. Overall a very disappointing experience, especially since we drove 40 minutes in poor weather to get there AND spent enough that we should have had a good meal."

  • "The service is always wonderful, no matter what location. The Veal Pictata was a tad salty, but I would have it over salted than under, very tender. Michael was a very attentive server."

  • "Andiamo's in Royal Oak is a great go-to restaurant for dinner with friends. Food was good and our waitress was very nice and friendly. I wouldn't say it's the best Italian in the area, but overall it has a great atmosphere - not too loud and not too quiet, fun vibe, and casual, not stuffy."

  • "I have been going to your restaurant for many years. My friend and I love the front window and your martinis. We had three appetizers of which the calamari was excellent, the tenderloin ok and the ravioli was tough. Our waiter, Tony, was excellent and made up for the food being mediocre."

  • "Andiamos has invigorated its menu with new items but kept old favorites. We have always enjoyed the wine list also. It is conveniently located in downtown Royal Oak and we are careful to avoid the crush of weekend traffic. We like a fairly quiet dining experience. We have also enjoyed the Wednesday night music in the bar area."

  • "We enjoyed this restaurant. Food was good, my husband's filet was A-mazing! The table space was a little crammed and the huge menus made for an uncomfortable start, but once we had ordered and the menus were gone, space was ok. Wait staff was friendly and informative."

  • "When my boyfriend and I entered Andiamo Royal Oak the waitstaff and hostess automatically made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely exquisite (try one of the flatbreads as an appetizer, you won't be disappointed!). The waitstaff were very polite and friendly and were constantly asking if everything was okay or if they could get us anything. We had our reservation for 6:30pm and as the night grew on the restaurant became more busy; the sound level was getting loud but it felt like it belonged to be there because of how Royal Oak is! Overall: GREAT EXPERIENCE (we were first timers there and we will definitely be going back!)."

  • "We've been to Andiamo's before and enjoyed it, but this time it wasn't good. Pasta should be al dente, and it was not even close this time. Way over cooked. And my husband had the butternut squash ravioli, and it came literally swimming in oil, and when he complained they took it back and rinsed it off! It was not good at all. The service was good, but the food was not."

  • "My husband and I recently celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary at Andiamo's in Royal Oak. We had a most wonderful time! Our server, Brian, was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable making our meal very enjoyable. The food was great as usual. Seems there are very few places to enjoy a nice meal while being able to hold a conversation in a normal voice anymore. We will be going there again in the very near future."

  • "A quiet Sunday (5:30) found the restaurant fairly empty. The service, including a trainee were very solicitous. Great window side seating. Extensive menu and some interesting specials. However all the meats ordered arrived just slightly over- cooked. Lamb ordered medium- rare was medium, salmon was slightly dry and chicken was hard/tough at the edges. It almost appeared that it had been held in a warming area a bit too long. Again, just a couple minutes short of perfect. But. . The Tiramasu was exquisite!"
