I booked this reservation on OpenTable and called the hotel to confirm it because it was for a visiting group. When I arrived, I was informed that they had pushed back the date of the seasonal re-opening without contacting me. There was no table immediately available at the other hotel restaurants and the only consolation the manager could offer was free drinks at the hotel bar while we waited for other diners to finish in one of the other, very differently styled restaurants (we had already waited a half hour). I would have expected the manager to offer to make arrangements at another similarly styled restaurant on the island. I also would have expected some follow-up, such as an invitation to come back when the restaurant was re-opened.

This is a lovely Alfresco Restaurant on the property of the Ritz Carlton The food was good though slightly under portioned The service was spotty at best. The Overall experience was greatly hampered by the mosquitos. Why anyone would locate an exclusively Alfresco Restaurant next to a breeding ground for mosquitos with out providing for some protection from them I don't understand.

The truffle fries were great, and the service was good. It was an outdoor restaurant. There are mosquitoes nearby. The tiramisu was just ok. It's definitely for a larger group or for kids.

Returning to Periwinkle has been a family tradition since we began traveling to Cayman 8 years ago. This year the restaurant has changed drastically. No longer do they offer their once famous shrimp ceviche and their key lime pie is no longer on the menu. The appetizers were complementary I believe to improve business. The food was just fair. Previously on our list along with Calypso Grill, The Brasserie, Papagallo, Dolce Vita, Ragazzi; off the list after this year. Was so cool with the theater playing movies for the kids; simply not worth the time or money to experience fair food on an island that can provide outstanding meals. Goodbye, Periwinkle

This place is awesome. The food makes you feel like you are in Italy. The staff loves for food and are nice people. Great times. We were a couple without kids and still had just as much fun as all the happy well fed children everywhere. Great spot. We did to go pizza the 2nd night it was so good

We hoped Periwinkle would offer a good experience for both kids and adults. Was okay, but not worth the cost. Good: The thin-crust pizzas were quite good. Can't do much better than the Rustica, with Mozarella, Parma ham and truffle oil. And they have beach chairs set up on sand viewing an outdoor screen showing kid movies (animated version of the Christmas Carol, when we went). Kids loved it. Bad: They charged $25US each for the kids buffet, despite the fact that our kids are 3 and 5 and ate very little. Besides pizza, the food wasn't memorable enough to merit the cost. The cucumber soup just tasted like a bowl of sour cream. And the servers are a bit TOO attentive. Three different people stopped to ask if I want a drink within a minute.

Overall decent food but they were out of buffalo mozzarella which was my primary interest. Restaurant is totally outdoors so if it is humid, it won't be a very pleasant experience. Lastly, they show movies right outside of the restaurant so the noise level is greater than most other locations.

Being a Ritz property, you are made to Feel impt., even though it is casual. The Spinach salad with grilled Mahi Mahi Was excellent. The fish was fresh and seasoned beautifully. My husband's Lasagne was served in a casserole and Was delicious. It is pricey- wine by the Glass isn't cheap but we enjoy it as we Have been back many times

This used to be a great resturant and then they started playing with the menu - eliminated best dessert - ice cream sandwhich, show one menu on website and anothe one at dinner. Service is still wonderful, food just going down hill last two years.

Really nice view on a pond. Very nice staff. Salad was very tangy/acidic...they use lemon as dressing. Bruschetta and mozzarella were really good. When it came to entrees, a bit more of a disappointment. The pasta was super salty and the chicken parmigiana was heavily breaded and the chicken seemed as if it were microwaved.
