Diner Reviews
  • "The physical space was trendy and the back garden was lovely. The food was presented and prepared professionally and the drinks were delectable."

  • "This restaurant was a very nice surprise on the west side. Went for brunch and will try going for dinner soon. Food was very fresh and tasty. Service was excellent. Loved their fried artichokes and had a cocktail Malbella that was excellent, very refreshing with vodka, fresh fruit and mint. Calamari sandwich was very good also."

  • "We love going to Andanada! The food is wonderful, the service is very good by pleasant, attractive polite and professional young people. The host is charming and welcoming and eager to have you enjoy the restaurant and the food. The Tapas are not the usual. The Croquettas delicious as is everything. The garlic shrimp are addictive. The Tabla boards of Iberica and sausages great and the tomato bread marvelous."

  • "This is my second time at Anandada and it didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the food, the sangria and the service. I would definitely come back again. The wait staff were very attentive and they didn't rush you out at the end of the meal... the menu is typically Spanish, vvery interesting and varied for all tastes."

  • "Beautiful and pleasant setting, great food, attentive staff, very welcoming environment...seams to attract appreciative and upscale people who have high standards. Happy it's in my neighborhood"

  • "Very pretty restaurant, but noise level bad and inattentive wait staff. A flamenco guitarist and dancer were very entertaining, but contributed to the noise level so we could not hear anything or have a conversation without shouting. The food was disappointing and we only liked one or two of the six tapas items."

  • "lunch menu is very limited compared to dinner. Please write a review that is at least 50 characters in length. Who are you to tell me how long a free review should be. Booo to you!"

  • "The atmosphere and food are wonderful. We stayed with the tapas menu and enjoyed every one of the tapas we ordered. We will probably try the entrees in our next visit."

  • "Best brunch I ever had!!! The potatoes were a gift from the food gods along with the eggs benedict!! The whole atmosphere felt like you we're smack dab in the middle of Barcelona!! Will be back"

  • "Went there with a Living Social coupon for brunch. The food and service were great. Teresa was cordial and very engaging. I can't wait to return without a coupon to try their paella."

  • "The food was excellent. My two favorite items of the meal were the fried artichokes topped with Manchego cheese and the Spanish cheese plate. We will definitely come back."

  • "We read the reviews from Zagat and we were excited to try it. We ordered from the tapas menu and most of the dishes sounded very good and interesting. The waiter recommended that we order 4 dishes which we did and out of the 4 only one was really yummy. The Albondigas con Calamares (Meatballs in squid ink sauce with crispy squid ) was fantastic and we started with this one. Each dish became progressively worse lacking flavoring and taste specifically the Gambas al Ajillo which needed more garlic and the Alcachofas con Queso Manchego which was bland. The Tigres (Mussel croquettes with saffron emulsion and cilantro) were mediocre. We will not be returning."

  • "Great location if you are heading for a performance at Lincoln Center. The food was tasty and well presented. We had to ask for the pre-theater menu which was not made available voluntarily. The staff was very pleasant. We will return."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful. I loved the ambience and the décor. The waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. The bathroom was immaculate and the walls were painted in a very artistic way. I will definitely come back again."

  • "Great selection of tapas. The tapas are very large and can easily be shared by two the food across the board was excellent the service friendly and professional and the ambience very pleasant"

  • "Nice place. Very clean. Service was great. Tried the calarmri, recommend it. Also had the cod with bell peppers, ok, nothing great. The octopus in a mash potato was different, a bit exoctic but cool to try. The best by far was the Steak with portabella mushrooms! It was outstanding and cooked to perfection but the price was a bit steep. Overall, would recommend for a extra nice evening on the Upper West Side."

  • "What can I say...the sangria tasted like sprite, the octopus was covered in some Cream like sauce, and the rest of the tapas was bad. Very disappointed."

  • "It was a delightful fun evening and the food was excellent - the flamenco was amazing!"

  • "This was absolutely fantastic food. It was just like being back in Barcelona, with the pan con tomate being made just right. That was the first sign that this would be authentic food that was true to Spain. They brought out gazpacho as a little treat for us to try, and it was perfect. The vegetable paella was divine, and the sangria was just like I remembered. I have not found another place in the city that gets everything right even half as well as Andanada did. I will be coming back and bringing friends and family to share in this wonderful food."

  • "Great food and service! The staff was great. Our server was exceptional. We informed him that we needed to be at Radio City Music Hall for a show at 8 pm, and he managed to time everything perfectly, including getting us the taxi there (which please do not take for granted)! The bartender was new, but clearly motivated and ready to meet any request, and made all our drinks superbly. The place has this fabulous sun dining area, and the environment has a Spanish yet modern feel. They served us an on the house tomato gazpacho- quite unique (don't want to spoil it so won't go into further detail). I highly recommend this place. An added plus - a fantastic place for vegan/veggie foodies and meat foodies alike! (they have a vegetarian paella!)"

  • "We always enjoy Andanada -- for brunch, dinner or just tapas. It's a great addition to UWS choices."

  • "I suppose we should have checked the menu more closely, but expected Spanish cuisine mainstays were not offered. Paella was cooked very differently and our friends thought it was dry to the point of crunchy. Maybe that was the intent, but our friends weren't happy. My wife and I both ordered the specials, she the halibut and me the sucklin pig. Neither was a knockout."

  • "Two of us went pre-Lincoln Center. It was early and very quiet but was filling up by the time we left. The tapas menu was varied and had lots of choices even for vegetarians. There were free tasting treats like tiny bottles of gazpacho with straws and perfectly done chips. Every dish was delicious and the service couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Andanada had been recommended highly to us by friends and we will recommend it to others as well. And we plan to return with a large group so that we can sample more dishes."

  • "This restaurant has many attractive features and I might go again sometime. The food was very good not great. The noise level was deafening and it is just a small cozy room. Perhaps at an off hour it would be less difficult to converse. The best thing about the place is that it is unique. That is refreshing and to be supported. My halibut was a tad dry. The apple rhubarb dessert was more a Napoleon with little hint of those favors. Why not some classic Spanish dessert like torta de Santiago? Etc."

  • "Went for pre-ballet supper and ordered four small plates: eggplant, gambas, potatoes with black olive "earth", and artichokes. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the chef treated us to a gazpacho "sip", drunk through a straw, and also some homemade chips with olive dip. My Prosecco was served very tall and cold, and my friend ordered a red wine as suggested by the host, and he couldn't praise it enough. This place is a find. I'd like to bring a group here to enjoy not only the good food, but also the Flamenco on Tuesday night and Sunday brunch. "

  • "The food here is a modern take on Spanish food. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. Our waiter was delightful and very helpful. Check the menu before going. It may not appeal to everyone."

  • "First of all, this is a fantastic restaurant. We had tapas and each one was great. We chose items we had not tasted before and loved the interesting combination of ingredients There were more familar items on the menu for those who prefer the tried and true. The Spanish wines from the family vinyard were wonderful. The service was top notch and the environment chic. Great pchoice if you are looking for a place to dine before or after a performance at Lincoln Center."

  • "I picked this place randomly because it was close to the Beacon. The reviews were good so I decided to try it. Wow. We ordered 8 different dishes and every one was truly amazing. Shockingly good. Excellent sangria. Beautiful room. Very good service. I can't wait to go back and want to try some other new things. The artichokes were delicious. The eggplant was incredible and two of the potato dishes were spectacular. Meats were delicious. Run to this restaurant. "
