AndanadaA little slice of Spain!Below-street-level resto makes the best of its space (including an outdoor space in the back. Lovely bar. Fascinating menu--too many choices, not enough tummy room! Only glitch was slow service. Still, I'm eager to go back.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was authentic andThe food was authentic and delicious and the service was great6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNice surpriseWe got here just by chance and found a 2 star michelin chef running the exquisite kitchen. Quiet, delicious, and great portions (with delicious drinks to boot), and the staff is very friendly. I will definitely go again. The bloody mary and red sangria was absolutely divine.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect MealFood was delish, atmosphere lovely and staff delightful. Look forward to coming here again. Thanks!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprising findI understand they are fairly new to the area. The food was surprisingly good. Had some excellent Tapas. Plan to try the main courses on our next trip. Great restaurant for the upper West side where it is sometimes hard to find a tasty meal.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSome new dishes in a moreSome new dishes in a more traditional way of Mediterranean food have made the menu even more attractive. Still the surprising “patatas” or the exotic scallops tartar are mind-blowing while the classic paella is full of taste and rich in flavors. Good service, great atmosphere… spectacular!!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAn undiscovered oasisI had lunch there recently with a friend - it was delicious, a great value, and a lovely experience overall. We were the only diners at the time - a pity, because It's an undiscovered oasis and a gem.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous FindWe love this restaurant and eagerly await our return.
The restaurant is beautiful, the service was very personal and professioal as well as helpful and friendly.
The tapas selections are enormous. We had fried artichokes, garlic shrimp and Iberica ham, Perfect sharing for two.
WE shared a main course of bacala which was served with pequillo pepper and braised leek; excellent.
The sangria selections are delightful as are the paella. A lovely light "cheese cake" completeda perfect meal. Espresso completed a perfect dining experience.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBravo and OléWe asked the bartender to prepare any vodka cocktail she was particularly proud of and she complied with superb Guarachas of her own invention. We shared appetizers: fried artichokes with shredded Manchego, roasted eggplant and the stellar new potatoes. They are presented like a little terrarium: potato "boulders" with watercress "trees" and chopped olive "dirt." Wet the spuds with salsa brava or garlic mayo and then dip in the "dirt." Yum and fun. Both entrées, cod and a vegetarian paella, were delicious. We would have gladly given into temptation, but we passed on dessert due to satiety. Service was courteous, amiable and energetic on a (slow) Wednesday night. We will be back to try the outdoor-indoor skylighted patio.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent tapas and red sangriaWe were there on a Tuesday night and we decided to try almost everything on the tapas menu. We had the roasted eggplant with hazelnuts, the shrimp in garlic sauce, the mini potatoes with black olives, pork loin croquettes, fried calamari with squid ink aoli sauce. octopus with mashed potato puree, meatballs in cilantro sauce, and the sausage selection. We highly recommend the roasted eggplant, octopus, shrimp and calamari tapas plates.
The red sangria was very good. We also tried the torrijas, custard and the mousse. They were just okay.
The service was excellent. The waitress gave us very good recommendations, and explained every tapas plate for us.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWon't stay undiscovered for long...Great food, tapas menu perfect for group nibbling and sharing, interesting Spanish wine list, very pretty space. This is the 3rd time we have been there, and these results describe all 3 experiences.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSpanish Modern at AndanadaAndanada had a convenient pre-theatre dinner before the opera and served a delicious meal worthy of an encore. Adam, the restaurant manager, and the wait staff were very cordial. My dinner began with a crisp Ensalada de Queso de Cabra (Goat cheese layer served under seasonal market greens) that tasted refreshing to the palate. It was followed by an entree of Codornices Guisadas con Salsa de Mar y Montaña (Surf and turf-Cornish hen in a Cataluña-style prawn strock served with crispy eggplants). The Crema Catalana dessert (Traditional custard from Catalonia) was a pleasant coda to dinner. If not for the rush to the opera, I would have savored the tapas but will return for more.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the ambiance, food, especiallyLove the ambiance, food, especially the tapas, and the overall experience5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate at Andanada for theWe ate at Andanada for the second time on Saturday and it surpassed our fairly high expectations from our first visit. This is not a "super high-end" spot and we have still only eaten off the small plate menues - haven't tried the mains yet. On our most recent visit though we added two paellas (for 4 of us) to a selection of three of the tapas dishes. Along with a pitcher of sangria it made for a great night. Finally, the wine list is decent - some good Spanish selections - but the cocktails are excellent.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Spanish FoodDelicious food and great service and very attractive setting An adult space with a normal noise level.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMwell prepared Spanish foodwell prepared Spanish food with nice accompanying wine list. Some of the dishes can be a bit pricey, especially the paellas. Murals abound. Service was excellent, the sangria was delicious, and our entrees perfect. Try the Huervo Iberico Benedito(the bed of chorizo/potato hash is amazing) and the 'Trio'. Both were mouthwatering.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA very enjoyable ambienceA very enjoyable ambience and experience. Four of us shared one main and 4 tapas and really enjoyed them. Very moist and flavorful meatballs, and an interesting (in a good way), delicious pulpo/potato dish. The 2 desserts we shared were quite good-the goat cheese cheesecake was amazing. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, without being intrusive.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good experience!I went there last night with my friend. The ambience was really nice and the place beautiful with plenty of colors on the walls. We shared some tapas. The albondigas, the cheese plate and the octapus were my favourite. For entree I had the red snapper and for desert we shared the torrijas. Great flavors! The service was reliable. Our server helped us to choose a very good wine, because we didn't know many things about spanish wines. I would go again.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for tapas on a KGB deal.Went for tapas on a KGB deal. We had meatballs, shrimp, breadcrumbs with egg and sausage, and pumpkin salad.
