A word from Andaluca
Andaluca, located in downtown Seattle, is a nationally recognized culinary oasis. Resonating with the romance of the Mediterranean, its food and design have been a winning combination since 1996. Throughout the handsome space, mahogany mill work, hand painted murals and plush, deep-toned fabrics work together to conjure up a sun-baked Mediterranean grotto.
Begin your meal at Andaluca with a selection from an array of tapas-inspired sharable plates and pintxos.
One of the hottest restaurants in downtown Seattle, Andaluca features fresh seasonal Northwest foods influenced by the flavors of the Mediterranean. Chef Sarah Lorenzen combines strong and aromatic tastes that complement, rather than overpower.

  • Our favorite downtown restaurant.

Andaluca has always been one of our favorite spots downtown to visit after taking the kids to see the Christmas lights and decorations. The staff has always been very accommodating to the children and it gives the children a very grown up experience. We loved that as sophisticated as Andaluca is, they still had a kids menu. We felt like, as adults, we were still having a fine dining experience as well and didn't have to compromise our experience, because we had the children with us.

I took my husband to Andaluca for his birthday and mentioned when making the reservation that it was for a birthday and requested a romantic table. Not only did we get seated in a lovely, semi-private booth, but the server surprised us with complimentary champagne. Our service was exemplary throughout the meal, with the server bringing our choices (we went with a variety of small plates) in an order suited to the composition of each dish. The meal ended with memorable desserts, my husband's chocolate cake coming with a candle on it. I had the Earl Grey pot du creme, which was outstanding. We will definitely be back to sample some of the other selections on the menu.

I must have walked by Andaluca a thousand times. I really dont like giving places 5 stars . . But dang . . What more do I want? Dinning room is small and quiet. Service is perfect. Bread with hummus. Salad, main course and dessert perfect. Soooo, yup . . 5 stars it is . . I can't lie.

We had a lovely evening despite the food being underwhelming. From the bland hummus served with unappealing bread, to the vegetarian tagine, the food was just lacking flavor. The exception was the clams which has a nicely spiced rich broth. The chocolate cake wasn't chocolatey enough, but the Carmel sauce and ice cream were great...just not enough. And the sugar item served with the cake could rip every filling out of your mouth...they need to lose it pronto. The service was great, as was the low noise level. The choice of music for the small room was a bit odd. And having free valet parking downtown is a HUGE plus.

Friendly, helpful staff without exception; attentive to gluten sensitivity both with a gf menu and knowledgeable wait staff; inspired menu. After reading reviews I thought this would be a new little gem to discover, but it didn't quite fit the bill. I was taking a visitor from Japan, and I think mostly the environment did not feel very special, just a little mediocre and bland. The food was pretty good, but menu a bit confusing (I thought it was more Spanish but really reads all over the board) and the actual menus themselves felt a little hotel-y and plasticy (I know that sounds superficial). The service was great, but would not tick the box for foodies or special occasion for me and would not bring overseas visitors here in future.

Starting with the free valet parking directly at the door, the lovely Mayflower Park hotel lobby to relax for a bit, choosing from various warm-weather evocative dishes including tapas, an appealing wine and bar menu, and the comfortable artsy decor, makes this into a mini trip to the Mediterranean. Definitely we'll go again. They start serving dinner earlier than most nicer restaurants, at 5, which is helpful if you want to get to a show.

It's a bit difficult to get to at 6:00PM on a busy Seattle workday, but it is worth the difficulty. Valet service allows no fuss once you get there. The service was excellent without being imposing. The Restaurant Week menu was varied enough for both of us and the food rose up to the impressions we formed reading the menu. The Chocolate Volcano Cake was amazing. A wonderful evening.

My wife and I have been coming to Andaluca for a number of years. We live in Tacoma and when we travel to Seattle for theater, opera, shopping (especially at Christmas) or a special occasion (perfect for anniversary) this is our place. We have tried most of the top-end restaurants in Seattle over the years but now it's exclusively dinner at Andaluca (sometimes brunch when we are staying at the Mayflower Park Hotel). Andaluca has a marvelous chef and staff and the meals are an experience to be savored. It is the perfect place to entertain small groups and you can have a quiet intimate conversation with that special person. No cost valet parking is an added bonus especially if you are attending an event before or after dinner.

It's been several years since I visited Seattle, and Andaluca was on my list of restaurants I wanted to revisit. The menu is great, many small plates in addition to entrees. Ate here twice during our stay and one night we shared an assortment of small plates, the other night we split the paella. The food and service are exceptional.

Almost ever dish we had was shiny from oil or butter, and the dishes were not very distinct. Portions were small, and nothing was notable or exceptional. We were among the first for dinner, but we had to wait a long time for our meal. Apparently our order didn't go through the computer the first time. Once our waiter noticed, they did provide us two free dishes while we waited. As for the food, not sure what the rave is about. We will say that the staff and ambiance made up for a great deal of mediocre food, nevertheless, with so many restaurants in Seattle, we won't go back to this one.

Food and service are unbelievable. I have tried several things here and they are all exquisite. I cannot recommend one over the other. The service is fantastic as well. And the ambiance makes it a romantic place to come if you need romantic. But if you don't need romantic, you can sit by some tables at the windows. Do not let the fact that it's a hotel restaurant fool you. It's one of the best restaurants in downtown Seattle.

I asked for extra sauce after my fish arrived because the dish was dry without the sauce. With the sauce it was fantastic!
