  • "Andaluca provides a high standard from which to judge others. Everything from reservations, to seating, to decor, service, presentation, and paying the bill were as one would wish. Service was attentive but not overbearing. The menu selection had a variety of choices but not exhausting. Wine list was the same with some good choices. The food was well presented and tasty, felt healthy and didn't disrupt later. The noise level in a full room was as expected but sound absorption was good, no bouncing of sound. The decor provided soothing quieting colors. As a first time experience, I would hope that it will be repeated next time."

  • "Had heard a review on TV, and then saw it on Dine Around Seattle. When looking for a dinner spot before seeing The Lion King, made choice after checking out web site and discovering that they offered Complimentary Valet for dinner and show. So glad that we went ~ Loved the atmosphere, service was exceptional and very considerate for our time frame. Food was amazing and very presentable. Valet service was a breeze through the connected Mayflower Park Hotel. We loved it and definitely recommend Andaluca! Sorry didn't make it back for Restaurant Week ~ "

  • "Andaluca was enjoyed by all 4 of us during Restaurant Week Spring 2014. Their complimentary valet parking was a great feature since it's in a busy downtown area, but the food & service were what really made us happy we chose them to be a part of our evening. I had a Spring Risotto, which was a lovely bright green & arrived piping hot. Everyone else ordered the salmon, and some picky salmon lovers (all excellent NW cooks so they know how to judge) were very happy with their meals. I will definitely return!"

  • "Traffic made us a little late for our reservation, so we called while sitting on I-5 South to let them know we'd be late. No problem. Once seated, we told our server that we had to get over to Benaroya within the hour. Again, no problem. We ordered about 7 small plates, all of which came out beautifully on the plates and shared them around. The brussels sprouts roasted with harissa were amazing. Actually, everything we had was delicious. My husband and I shared the pot de creme and the kids shared the lemon cake for dessert...yum! And, we were able to walk the three blocks to get to will call well before the show started."

  • "Although we had reservations it took a long time for a host to greet us and seat us. We were ignored for awhile and when we caught the waiter's attention to ask for menus and water we were told they were out of menus and glasses???? Crazy! Once we got our meals my "panzanella" salad was just a normal salad with a couple of small croutons and my salmon was overcooked."

  • "Seattle restaurant week is a perfect way to try a new place. We went early to make a show and the staff timed it just right so we had a wonderful dinner finishing just at the right time. Everything about the meal was as good as could be; one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had and we go out a lot. The three course meal was wonderful, but the small-plate menu looked so varied and good that we will come back soon for sure."

I ordered the paella which was a huge disappointment - the rice was not the right consistency and it was bland and lacking flavor. The server was great, though, and the appetizers were good. For the rave reviews I had read elsewhere I was just a bit underwhelmed."

  • "This place is interesting. As far as I can tell the food selections are influenced by Moroccan, Tunisian, Spanish and Portuguese. We went during restaurant week and our selection was more limited. I tried a seafood combo and my partner had a tagine. The tagine was great, the seafood hit and miss... perhaps they were being stingy on the restaurant week specials. The décor is also just a bit off. It has the feel of an old world Spanish inn, but they've tried to update the metals and the heavy dark woods with some contemporary colour and style. A good idea but not very well delivered, making the ambiance a bit uncomfortable and the tables to crowded together for the fireside romance it could inspire otherwise."

  • "This was our first time at Andaluca. I had read great reviews and it was on the Dine Around Seattle program. Even though the restaurant was packed; our waiter was attentive, friendly and we felt very welcomed! The food was delicious. The clams and the salad appetizers were very good. We all ordered the halibut entree and were very pleased with presentation,quality and quantity….a very generous serving. The wine list had good reasonably priced options. Definitely going back!"

  • "My wife and I went to Andaluca during the Dine Around Seattle month, and we loved our time there. The server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options for my wife, as she is allergic to wheat, and upon bringing out each course, he would notify my wife if one of the dishes had gluten in it. We ordered the Soup du Jour, which was a delicious lemon fennel soup. The Pork Tenderloin Parilla was an excellent dish with an interesting combo of tender and well seasoned meat along with sweet potatoes. For desert, the Liquid Chocolate Cake is a masterpiece! It is a moist chocolate lava cake with gelato and salted caramel. We both loved this dessert and it was the perfect size too. We would highly recommend Andaluca for a nice dinner."

  • "Our waiter was very helpful in making suggestions for us since we wanted to do a tapas-like dinner. After we made our selections with his help, we left it to him to bring the small plates in an appropriate combination of flavors and textures, along with matching wines. The meal was perfect! The whole experience was like being transported to Spain. Definitely would return the next time we're in town."

  • "Nice Tapas (small plate), but small menu. This place has a southern Spain theme (reference the name - derived from Andilucia) All the plates we had were very flavorful, fresh and well prepared. Also a regular menu if you want something more traditional. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we had, a lot more than most tapas places, but would have liked more selection options. Service was great."

The waiter was friendly yet unobtrusive, was always there if we needed something but otherwise encouraged us to take our time for this special occasion dinner--3 hours and still felt very welcome. Complimentary champagne for our birthday celebration was an elegant touch. The food was excellent; I would especially recommend the clam dish with chorizo appetizer and the liquid chocolate cake dessert as outstanding, unique twists on old favorites. Great to have a downtown Spanish (mediterranean) restaurant that is quiet but not dead, and elegant with no hint of snobishness. I will definitely go again and recommend Anduluca to others."

  • "We choose it for Dine Around Seattle - but then went on a Friday - Duh! We had a nice dinner in any event. The scallop appetizer could only by improved by having 2 MORE scallops! The special of the day - Lamb Stew with couscous was outstanding! While the Israeli couscous under the halibut was a little over oily and the halibut itself bland. Salads were inconsistently dressed - one just nicely lite, another quite over dressed. The roasted carrots in the salad were diced so finely that their flavor was over powered by the greens/dressing. They were out of the Ginger Cake desert my wife really wanted to try - too bad. We'll give them another try. BE SURE TO USE THE FREE VALET IF YOU NEED PARKING!"

  • "We recently ate at Andaluca located in the Mayflower Hotel on the other end of the block of Westlake Center. The twice-yearly three course for $30 Seattle restaurant week promotion brought in some first timers, but my wife and I recognized some regulars from the times we often dine there. As usual, the entrees (halibut and pork tenderloin) were generous and very well prepared; the appetizers terrific. The butter leaf salad is beautifully presented and melts in one's mouth. For dessert, we both had the house chocolate pastry which, as always, was rich and wonderful. The real treat is Andaluca's wine list. We had a wonderful red from the Columbia Valley for $40 which we had not tasted or seen before. Great meal! Keep it up, Andaluca"

  • "Had an enjoyable dinner of Roasted Carrot and Avocado salad followed by a Grilled Romanesco entree. The salad consisted of mixed organic greens, shaved red onions, goat cheese, and toasted sliced almonds. The entree consisted of a broccoli/cauliflower combination with mushrooms atop a lentil/potato cake. Both the salad and entree were nicely prepared and delicious. A basket of sliced, soft potato bread with a tasty hummus spread preceded the meal. Service provided by Ms. McColm was top notch and made the dining experience even more enjoyable."

  • "The service was excellent, however, the food was not worth the price. One of the entrees did not come out for approximately 10 minutes. I had the Paella and it obviously sat under the heating lamp waiting for the last entree… it was mushy and tasteless. All the food was underwhelming in spice/taste. The server offered us a small cheese plate for the person whose entree was very late, nice gesture, not very satisfying though. For the price, this was very disappointing and you would hope that the manager would have come over to apologize as we were there for a birthday celebration. Perhaps, this is a "tourist" restaurant, and as we are Seattleites, it would be very difficult to recommend this establishment."

  • "The decor of the restaurant immediately gives you a romantic, intimate feel. Service was fantastic as well. The menu is primarily Spanish/Mediterannean with a little bit of Moorish influence as well. However, there are still plenty of familiar favorites for less adventerous diners. My wife and I shared five courses: a parsnip soup that was to fire for, the roasted carrot and avocado salad, brussel sprouts tossed in harissa butter, the paella croqettas, and finished with the seafood caldereta. We liked the atmosphere and staff so much that we went back the next evening too for a late night snack and glass of port."

  • "My husband and I had a great time celebrating Valentine's Day and an anniversary. Our server was absolutely wonderful; very knowledgeable without being pretentious. He knew the food and drink menu very well and gave honest opinions. The beef tenderloin appetizer was flavorful and delicious. The roasted cauliflower was a little bland for me but my husband enjoyed it. He also greatly enjoyed the personal sized paella. I ordered the chocolate lava cake for desert, only to find that there was no lava. It was cooked all the way through. Our server noticed this and had the kitchen remake it, but unfortunately it was still cooked through. Overall we had a great experience and enjoyed the complex and unique flavors presented on their menu."

  • "We had walked by Andaluca a number of times and not paid much attention. Our mistake -- when we did turn to it for a pre-show dinner, it turned out to be a charming discovery. The decor is nice: polished wood, interesting, curving lines, very nice wallpaper. The server had the biggest smile in town and an attention to service to match. The food made broader use of a wide range of ingredients than most places do. And it was well-prepared: excellent soft bread with a good hummus, good salads with interesting dressings, the cinnamon shrimp were different and quite good, the sauteed kale was very tasty. The paella croquettes were fine, but the treatment didn't reveal the paella's taste as well as hoped."

  • "Love this place; the decor is so warm and rich; the dense complexity of color and texture matches the spicy, Mediterranean and MIddleEastern flavors of the food. We started with beautiful pink cocktails (French Connection) in honor of Valentine's Day. We had a cozy booth and a charming waitress. We shared a few small plates and one entree, and it was perfect. The lamb terrine was SO good; the special soup--parsnip--was divine. We loved everything about this place, and we will return!"

  • "Was presented with wine of a different vintage from what was on the list & told the had been out but don't reprint the menus. Clams spent time under a heat lamp before arriving at the table. Flatware not cleared and replaced. Poured our own wine after the first glass. With the number of fantastic, honest restaurants within 3 blocks, I wonder how this place survives."
