A word from Andaluca
Andaluca, located in downtown Seattle, is a nationally recognized culinary oasis. Resonating with the romance of the Mediterranean, its food and design have been a winning combination since 1996. Throughout the handsome space, mahogany mill work, hand painted murals and plush, deep-toned fabrics work together to conjure up a sun-baked Mediterranean grotto.
Begin your meal at Andaluca with a selection from an array of tapas-inspired sharable plates and pintxos.
One of the hottest restaurants in downtown Seattle, Andaluca features fresh seasonal Northwest foods influenced by the flavors of the Mediterranean. Chef Sarah Lorenzen combines strong and aromatic tastes that complement, rather than overpower.

There were 3 of us for dinner. We started out with a few martinis-- delicious! We ended up ordering 3 small plate appetizers and 1 large plate to split. The waiter was happy to accomodate our "split" requests. Of the 3 appetizers we had, the seviche was the best- of course it was the one our waiter recommended! The Paella was delicious, though definitely on the spicy side, I can't say we weren't warned though! After dinner we were going to a concert. The waiter happily validated our valet slip and let us leave our cars there while we enjoyed the rest of the evening. I am only disappointed that we hadn't saved room for dessert- definitely next time!

We celebrated our 8th anniversary there (dinner for 2). I made the reservation via OpenTable and noted this fact. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. We were served 2 glasses of champagne - on the house! A nice touch. There were so many intriguing choices on the "shareables" menu, we ordered our whole dinner from this - 6 courses. With a mid-range bottle of Spanish Rioja the whole bill was under $200 (excluding tip). The only negative comment was with the valet parking - but then it was free. They were slow to park our car so allow extra time when arriving. They then delivered the wrong car on leaving, but it didn't take too long for them to remedy that. Give the waiter your valet ticket before you order dessert.

My wife and I had a lovely evening at Andaluca tucked into the classic Mayflower Park Hotel. Valet parking provided at arrival (they need some training to open the passenger door first for the lady on arrival and departure). The restaurant is done in dark woods with comfortable booths. The crab tower appetizer was a treat, petite and tasty. Nice selection of Washington wines - our parochial preference. The halibut was grilled nicely. Service was attentive and unhurried.

I was looking for romance and great Mediterranean cuisine. Andaluca came through in every way. When my date was indecisive, the waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable in his wine suggestion which she enjoyed The crab tower was the essence of freshness and stuffed dates appetizer had a subtle combination of flavors and textures. The staff was respectful and unpretentious. The ambience was romantic, private but not isolated. The Paella was superb, just the right peppery heat, and generous amounts or seafood. I will recommend you without hesitation. The service was superb. Our waiter (tall with glasses) was most professional, and brought our courses at the right speed for maximum enjoyment. Thanks.

Our waiter was attentive and polite. We came specifically for the crispy duck cakes, and were suprised at how strange they were. A plate of what looked like 3 small crab cakes was delivered, and after cutting into one of them, I was suprised to see the inside bright red --it did not seem to have been cooked. It does not say anything about the duck being "raw" on the menu, rather the term "crispy" would have one think they had been cooked...anyhow, not a stranger to sushi, we gave it a try, and it was not good. Very bizarre, like raw ground duck meat that was rolled in falafel style coating and warmed in a pan slightly. Duck is very good fried in the pan --in many ways. Okay place, just extremely overrated.

The food is always good - great flavors, preparation and unique menu. The atmosphere is appealing and the decor is super tasteful. Service is of the same caliber, although, this last visit our server seemed to be lacking in personality and was not very warm. I ate at Andaluca 2 nights in a row, and the Saturday night experience was just not as good as Friday's -- perhaps this was because we arrived earlier, more at "prime time." Nevertheless, we had to wait to be seated, and it took awhile both to order and to be served. The waitress was okay but seemed a bit rushed, overwhelmed -- not stellar service. Overall, the food ranged from good to very good, falling short of "great." Personally, my crab tower appetizer and hazelnut dessert were very good, but the apple beet risotto was not so great -- kind of (for lack of better word) gloppy and lacking a more sophisticated flavor; the risotto is not something I would order again. The other guests' entrees were much better, however.

Due to a friend being in town who was staying at the hotel and who has dietary restrictions, we dined at Andaluca twice this weekend. The experience on 4/4 was great. The waiter was superb - friendly but not annoying, zen and helpful about my friend's many questions and restrictions, on the ball with everything. Really excellent service - which is RARE in and of itself. Overall, my food was very good, but fell a bit short of previous experiences at Andaluca. The romaine salad was fresh and good - but not great; it seemed like it needed a bit more zest - maybe more cheese or perhaps more lemon? My beef entree was very good -- though it arrived lukewarm as opposed to warm (which may have been the difference between "very good" and "great").

It was tryly a find for us since we love Spainish food. Reminds us of our trips to Spain. Loved it. The only drawback...service was a bit slow It seemed to take forever to get our appitizer and salad. Dinner was served promptly after our salad. It just might have been an unusual night. Also, Martini was served somewhat frozen, which I don't believe a martini should be served that way. Still...I love your restaurant and we look forward to bringing our friends from Spain this summer.

Everything was perfect--the flowers and gift that I ordered through your site were on time and in place . We were 45 min. late and they could not have been more gracious. Very amiable service--located in an elegant landmark hotel with an "old-money" established clientele--yet not at all "stuffy". Recommend as highly competent in all catagories. Has an up-and-coming newsworthy chef. We did not have cash for the valet so our waitress allowed us to cash it out of her tip. They were also very considerate and reassuring when I called to confirm the details. The catch-word for this restaurant would be "gracious". Dr. and Mrs. William Warner Bacon

Food was beautifully presented....but surprisingly salty. No salt and pepper provided on table (so chef apparently confident of level of seasoning). I'd rather add some salt of my own to a slightly under-salted dish that eat lots of bread to try to "dilute" too much salt. Polenta cake was somewhat dry--but maybe that's a style thing. The fish was cooked perfectly. I loved the atmosphere and felt well looked after by waitstaff. But I will likely not return due to the saltiness. (By the way, I was not ever asked how the food was until the dessert--which was the scrumptious highlight of chocolate marscapone panna cotta).
