The tomatoes were a bit under ripe. For the main course, we had pollo parmesan and pollo pailard. Although the dishes came with mashed potatoes and vegetables, we substituted pasta marinara. I thought we would still get vegetables, but it was just the pasta. The food was delicious and we ate every bit. Ancora is a solid neighborhood restaurant and we plan to return. We were so hesitant to try it for fear it would not be as good as the old one we frequented often. I am so happy to report that the food, service and ambience are not only as good at Ancora, but possible better than La Finestra! We loved the new updated and bright decor. The staff was very attentive and the food was delicious! The winner at the table was the pounded New York steak. We brought our own wine for a modest $8 corkage fee. The person took our order and never returned. We received our food by someone else, and the Maitre D came by to check on us, but the waitress never came back.
