Ancaster MillIt would have been nice toIt would have been nice to ha e a sauce with are meat , but other then that we enjoyed are selfs very much.12/4/2013 12:00:00 AMQuiet Elegance at Ancaster Old MillOverall, the Ancaster Old Mill has been a tremendous restaurant, having been there very many times (except for Sunday brunch) and having witnessed its metamorphasis into a truly great and excellent venue.
The ambience can compare and even exceeds others in a similar category...One walks in fron the front entrance(whose vestibule needs upscaling) and goes ..."Aaaaahhhh" almost taking one's breath away!
The service has invariably been attentive, quiet yet knowledgeable and our server (Jan ?)was extraordinary to have not only remembered my being there previously but actually recalled the name of my dear guest whom my wife and I had invited for lunch! Bravo.9/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSurpassed our expectationsWe were more than pleasantly surprised. Hadn't been there in years and they are far better than Spencers at the Waterfront. Loved it!!9/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch buffetfood was good but not up to the Old Mills reputation likely because it was a brunch buffet. Good selection but awkward setting for a buffet7/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery, very good experience.Very, very good experience. Well worth the drive from London. We went to the Sunday brunch and although expensive the crepes and waffles are the best. The fresh fruit tastes as if just picked.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Anniversary Meal!My wife and I had a lovely night for our anniversary. Good wine, great food, and a nice view of the raging waterfall right next to us. We hadn't been in since the renovation and thought the changes were very tasteful and lent to a much more contemporary atmosphere. Can't wait to try out the patio this summer for apps and a glass of wine!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a very busy day atIt was a very busy day at the Ancaster Mill, but the food was plentiful. We did notice that the dessert table did not have the same selection as it has in the past. Still we had a very nice family brunch.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Remarkable First-time ExperienceFrom arrival through departure, our family group was impressed and very pleased. The selection and variety of wines was an unexpected delight. A house-recipe Sauvignon Blanc-based sangria was quite good. Starters we enjoyed were the homemade mushroom soup, and the pan-seared scallops, and we were also treated to a complimentary salmon appetizer. Two in our group had the daily pasta special - a fettucini in a cream sauce, and the rest enjoyed the sirloin and rib eye steaks. Crème brûlée with a pistachio topping was a dessert highlight. To top it off, our server provided attentive, courteous, and friendly service.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy DinersI dined in a group of 12 and all 12 of us had a good experience. We all left extremely full and safisfied. There was a huge selection for all our different tastes. Everyone that had the turkey said it was the best they had ever had. I was most excited about the fresh local produce and the organic ingredients. There were no disappointments.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing in AncasterThis charming spot is surprisingly full of goodies. Whether you are here with a group for your wedding or you are here for a Sunday brunch. The food, decor and natural environment is a treat for all. I would not hesitate to highly recommend to all, regardless of age or occasion.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall goodFood was excellent. Service not quite so. Had to remind the server to bring us bread which didn't come until we're almost done our entree. Asked for green tea with dessert and was given peppermint tea. Neither a huge deal but these small items caused the overall experience to fall short of five stars.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA 5 Star Business MeetingI recently took a client out to Dinner at the Mill. Having been married here and enjoying its brunch numerous times I was expecting the meal to be good but it far exceeded my expectations. The meeting was a success in no small part thanks to the incredible meal.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food qualityFood quality is amazing, wife fell in love with it, am threatened...............lol.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingWe had tried the Ancaster Mill for lunch, but wanted to try brunch. As usual the view at he mill was beautiful and the food was delicious. Making plans to go again with a group of friends. The service was great, and the servers were friendly and curtious.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat improvementWe have not dines at the Ancaster Mill for a few years.
