Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent diner for four of us on a Saturday night in Santa Fe. Chef Juan (from Argentina) came out to visit each table for a few minutes. We listened to his menu suggestions and he also suggested we look at the bar menu before deciding on our meal. We picked a few appetizers from that menu and then the entrees from the regular menu. Scallops, shrimp and risotto, and the mole enchilada all were excellent. Good selection of vegetarian and gluten free offerings. We visited with Tom the food and beverage manager on the way out. The flamingo guitarist in the background was great to listen to. Best thing was the place was not too noisy - we could converse easily."

  • "My husband and I had dinner here a few nights ago and are still talking about how much we loved this meal! He had crab cakes for an appetizer and I had the heirloom tomato salad.....both delicious! My husband ordered the Beef tenderloin and short rib tortellini and I had the crimini mushroom panzottis....absolutely amazing! The sauce on my dish was excellent and I think my husband fell in love with the short rib tortellini! He was also excited to see a couple of Mezcal options on the menu too. Our server was delightful! Unfortunately, I can't remember her name but she was kind, knowledgeable, and just had a sweet spirit about her that we enjoyed. Loved this place! Will definitely come back on our next trip!"

  • "The crab cake was tasty but not warm inside. The seabass was rubbery and bland. The salmon was excellent."

  • "This is a restaurant suited for an intimate dining occasion. The Anasazi offers choices to satisfy a sophisticated palette. Lovely Southwestern setting."

  • "They have a $20, 3 course prix fixe lunch that is great value. Soup or salad to start, then choice of 3 entrees and 2 desserts. I chose the Trout BLT main course for $15 instead this time and OMG, it was fantastic. Large portion with french fries on the side. A friend had the 3 course prix fixe with beef tenderloin as main course (she said this is the second time she has ordered it because it is so delicious). Her dessert was flan with homemade ice cream -- decadent, delectable, divine. Two people can definitely share a dessert, so suggest if two of you come for lunch, one person orders the 3 course, and the other person orders just a main dish. Plenty of salad to share and dessert to share."

  • "The organic Scottish salmon is a wonderful dish. We accompanied it with the Tortilla Soup which is the best in Santa Fe. The service was very good and the restaurant is quite comfortable."

  • "We loved Anasazi on our first trip a year ago and it was just as good this time. We had the salmon and the pork chop, both were wonderful. The crab and corn chowder was outstanding as well. This is a restaurant we will return to whenever we are in Santa Fe. Our waitress's cheerful nature was contagious and added to the experience."

  • "The entire experience, from being greeted when we arrived to a sincere farewell when we departed, was excellent. The wait staff is very efficient and they know of what they speak! We ordered three different entrees and all were beautifully presented and were delicious!"

  • "Pricey but worth it. Service and food were both excellent. Nice ambiance. Quiet when I was there but not too many in the restaurant."

  • "There were three of us and all had a great meal. For Restaurant Week the soup or salad, entree and dessert was $20.We all agreed the desert alone was worth $20. We come for brunch several times a month and are always happy we came."

  • "Cozy, relaxing atmosphere, food boring. Enchiladas and trout sandwich very bland. However, wonderful, lengthy wine list and fun and delicious cocktails."

  • "In short, this hotel, restaurant, chef and bar are marvelous. The staff in the bar were quick, mindful and professional in every manner. After being seated for dinner, our service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Valentines evening. I openly object to having to tell our server who ordered which plate... The food felt a bit contrived and cafeteria for the quality of the venue and the types of dishes served on their regular dinner menu. I had not been told there would be a special dinner for Valentines day, so when I came prepared for 3 specific dishes, I found it disappointing to have a very limited selection of non-regular items. Dinner was small and clearly had been mass prepared. We will try them again as I certainly saw potential."

  • "Another wonderful evening at the Anasazi. The staff are always excellent, the food is always superb and the ambience is wonderful. I especially appreciate the vegetarian options which are much more than the typical pasta primavera or salads of so many restaurants."

  • "I have dined here off & on since the late 80s. The food is always well prepared, the service attentive & the atmosphere refined (for Santa Fe). On Valentine's Day, I do not expect much from restaurants & we dine at home. This year that was not possible. A welcoming glass of champagne & a presentation of a rose to ladies set the tone. I was astounded by the excellent quality and delicious preparation of the prix fixe menu. Three of us dined, each had a different appetizer, entree and dessert & each of us were impressed with our choices. Omar, our waiter, was friendly, knowledgable & not over present. Juan, who had served us twice previously, greeted us again & the chef requested our feedback. This was truly a special evening!"

  • "We definitely Iook for the best fine dining. The duck enchilada mole, is wonderful. It is the best mole I have ever had. It complimented the dish, not dominated it. The sous chef is from Mexico City and brought his family recipe with him. It is a must when you visit. Every dish we had, the salmon and the tenderloin, were mouth melting celebrations. Our waiter Oscar was very knowledgeable and made excellent suggestions based on our suggestions. Service was outstanding. Excellent attention to detail without helicoptering our table. We have dined at the traditional fine dining places in Santa Fe, this shines above the others. Our first choice in Santa Fe! We will be back soon! Thank you for making us feel so special."

  • "We noticed their ad in Pasatiempo for the Prix Fixe and decided to give it a try for lunch. It had been several years since we ate at Anasazi but it will not be long before we return. Our food was GREAT, the service excellent and you cannot beat the price. We will try their Prix Fixe dinner the next time."

  • "My wife and I dined at the Anasazi Dec. 29th for our 1st anniversary dinner. It was a tremendous experience. We were greeted by a gentleman who showed us to our table and congratulated us on our anniversary. Our server arrived and poured us each glasses of sparkling wine. Our waiter was extremely friendly (and fluent in both English and Spanish) and helped us with our selections. The food was brought out at a great pace, allowing us to really enjoy the exquisite taste, texture & smell of every dish. Our main course was fantastic, and, just was as were preparing to leave, we got a special anniversary desert as well; it was amazing. The Anasazi isn't just great food is a great experience & it is perfect for a romantic evening!"

  • "Great ambiance, superb service, great food. After several visits over two years, and taking in many of the Santa Fe foodie hot spots, this has become my favorite restaurant in Santa Fe."

  • "Overall, my husband and I had a good experience. It was fine. However, it wasn't amazing. The atmosphere is nice, and the server was friendly, buthere were a few issues with the food & bev. The bartender couldn't make one of the cocktails on the list (they ran out of strawberry vodka -- I'm surprised they couldn't just muddle some strawberries and vodka together); they ran out of the pork tenderloin and belly so they replaced it with a pork chop; the jalapeno-poppers were good but a little mushy and didn't have much flavor -- I couldn't tell there were jalapenos in them; my sea bass was overcooked. Again, it was fine, but if we go back to Santa Fe, we'll try a different restaurant."

  • "The waitress was very knowledgeable, but service was way too slow. Don't know if that's the plan there or if it was the kitchen. The food was good but not outstanding and of course small portions for big prices. I doubt we would go back. Enjoyed the experience from the location, people watching. It was a good evening but not enough to go back, I had the strawberry dessert and it was wonderful!"

  • "An outstanding dining experience in every way. Service was prompt and friendly, food and wine excellent. Crab and corn soup just spicy enough, rack of lamb flavorful and practically fell off the bone. My wife had the seabass - it was great. Dessert was pineapple/coconut cake - not to be missed. This is one of the best restaurants in Santa Fe, which is saying something. Don't miss it!"

  • "Great, innovative presentation; safe palette, good portions. Chef is fantastic! This restaurant should be one of the top five in Santa Fe, but has not garnered the same attention as other well known restaurants. We have been going to Anasazi for years, and although we have never been disappointed, this last time surpassed our expectations!"
