Diner Reviews
  • "We went there for this special occasion. We have been there before. It is well known in the Anaheim area. They support needy families."

  • "Awesome. Escargot was some of the best I've ever had. Stuffed calamari steak and filet were awesome. Great service. Great management. We will return."

  • "The White House experience is wonderfully unique. We have had lunch and dinner at The White House and both were awesome. We are foodies and they fit the bill."

  • "I set a birthday dinner with my family and a couple friends for my wife hoping for a memorable evening. We were not disappointed. The food, Service and Ambience were fantastic and made our evening very special. The steak and beef items on the menu were truly worthy of the Zagat's highest ratings while the seafood entree's were equally delicious. The presentation of the dishes were exceptional and the service was impeccable. The wine list was full of fine Italian and California wines with a wide range of prices from very affordable to moderately pricey. We luckily went with the "Bruno Selection" 2008 Valpolicella Superiore a wine that the owner Bruno Serato personally selected from a friends winery in the northern Italy region. Grazie Mille"

  • "Been to this restaurant a few times but the last visit was disappointing. The service took quite a while. The chocolate soufle was served cold and it took more than 20 minutes before it was served to us. The food is very good but this one visit didn't meet my standards. Guess that's it for me."

  • "My wife and I had great expectations for our experience, but unfortunately, except for an excellent waiter and car valet, we were disappointed. As we were celebrating our anniversary, we advised the restaurant, hoping for a nice table. Instead, we were put at a small table in a small room which could have measured 10 or 12 feet by 15 feet, along with three other tables, plus one small table directly outside of this cubby hole. Thus there were 10 of us in this small room and two more directly behind my wife. Obviously not the best situation for conversation. The food was ok, a bit bland. They did provide a 3/4 glass of no bubbles champagne at the end of the meal as we were paying the bill Very disappointing."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner very much. It was our anniversary. The service and food was the best we have had in any restaurant in years. The seating could be a little better, not real romantic. My chair was a little wobbly and my wife was setting over a ac duct. Overall a great eating experience. We are going to try their brunch some Sunday soon."

  • "Celebrated my one year anniversary with my girlfriend here; it is an excellent restaurant! Entire staff is great beginning with the valet attendant, hosts, and waiters. The chef personally came out to ensure our food was cooked to perfection which is a nice touch that no other restaurant i've ever been to had done. Very romantic setting with a great ambiance. It's not in a restaurant-centric area so its in a hidden location but other than that, its a great place!! Definitely must try at least once"

  • "Quiet, intimate, excellent food and service. Decor is in an old home and decorated in what I will call "Early Vatican" wall murals. Great spot for special dinners."

  • "Our food was amazing when we finally got it. There were three of us and we were there three hours. Way too long."

  • "We've been here in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, ambience, and location. Last night, not so much. The place is sadly in serious need of refurbishing. Seated upstairs, 2 of us were squeezed into a tiny table surrounded by two very large groups. Noisy and the server was waiting on us while also serving the large( 10+) at each table. Not good. I had lamb chops, lukewarm lamb chops! Not a cheap meal and certainly not worth the price! The smell of the restaurant is damp and musty and although I admire the owner's selflessness and involvement in charity work, I can't say we will be dining again in his restaurant. Quite a pity!!"

  • "Wonderful place. Beautiful interior. The food was very good..I just would've liked it a bit warmer. They were extremely busy."

  • "the White House is looking a bit tired, I think, but the food is outstanding. Bruno, Head Chef, was circulating, welcoming everyone, which was a nice touch - I'd been there a few times before and hadn't seen him doing that. Those who had prime rib in our group thought it was extraordinary! Service was outstanding, as always."

  • "It's a 'guy on a business trip kind of restaurant'. Cheesy, good food but not so particular. Not much else in Anaheim unfortunately, I wish I had time to drive somewhere else."

  • "I wanted something that was not a chain with some flair! I found it. Next time I need a dinner in Anaheim, I will be back."

  • "I have eaten at this restaurant many times in years past - it is a lovely location. However, the food and service are not what it used to be. Neither of us enjoyed our entrees and the person assigned to our table was so over-worked, she could not do a good job of anything. Considering we have to make reservations weeks in advance when we attend this particular event in Anaheim, I will not try this place again!"

  • "I took a customer for dinner, and was embarrassed when we were led to a small dining room on the 2nd floor. The overwhelming smell of sewage coming from the toilet next to our dining room was almost gagging! I chose the white fish as my entree, but the server suggested I try the sea bass in parchment, which was more expensive. I took his advice, but can't imagine it was worth the price difference. There was one other table in our dining room with about 6 people. They were so loud, we had difficulty carrying on our own conversation. The server was very attentive, but I won't plan to go back."

  • "i came during OC restaurant week with my husband. everyone was very friendly. the restaurant is beautiful. the staff were very friendly. the chef came out and was very nice. I loved the cheese ravioli withthe mushroom sauce. I then had the san dabs, and ended with the ice cream with berries. i would like to come back and experience different items on the menu. one thing i would have liked was to have a description with each food item i had. we kept asking the staff what different items were! Lol! It was different and I LOVED IT!"

  • "My boyfriend and I went for restaurant week. I have always wanted to go to The Anaheim White House and this was a perfect opportunity to try it without breaking the bank. The menu is very expensive for a regular meal but well worth the price. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was romantic. It was nice to have the opportunity to dine at this Southern California hidden treasure."

  • "this is a gem in the middle of the city of Anaheim. It was very elegant and romantic. Love all the little dining rooms. The service was excellent. Everyone was very attentive. Food presentation was beautiful from the napkin when you sit down to the last bite of the decadent desert. I had the white chocolate Salmon which was made perfect."

  • "We went oduring Orange County Dine-out week. So we ate from a pre-fix menu at $30.00 each. (Many entrees on the regular menu are priced for that amount.) But we got a lot more for $30.00! We started with a martini (included in price), had lobster ravioli on a bed of sauteed spinach, then I had a very moist salmon over a bed of white chocolate mashed potatoes. Both were superb! It was presented beautifully; the service was impeccable. The wine was good. We had two people waiting on us. My husband had beef that had been cooked for three hours. He said it was very tasty, moist and tender. The chocolate ganache dessert was a strange mound of something. But it tasted good. And they had the best coffee ever!"

  • "The Anaheim Whitehouse has been on my list to try for awhile. Restaurant Week was the perfect reason to go. From start to finish service was great. Nice Restaurant Week Menu. I truly appreciated having the Signature Dishes on the Restaurant Menu so I could try what makes Anaheim Whitehouse special. Great presentation on all courses. House salad with passion fruit vinegarette, Braised Beef and Chocolate Dome were all wonderful choices. It was also really cool that Bruno the owner stopped by the table to thank us for dining with Anaheim Whitehouse. Nice touch to a great evening. I look forward to coming back to support Anaheim Whitehouse."

  • "The portions were small but relatively good. Hopefully they were just shrunken for restaurant week as both my friend & I joked about hitting Taco Bell afterwards. Also the "tortilla like" (wait staffs description of main course decorative "twills") were not good & therefore just a distraction & should be eliminated altogether. And don't even get me started on the decor! Holy 80's Joan Collins! Bad metallic paints mixed with wallpapers that don't match, curtains attached to the ceiling as part of the decor (yes, you read that correctly) and bad artwork make for quite an eyesore. Overall I'd rate it a 4 out of 10. Decent food, but poor inattentive staff & bad decor really detract from the food."

  • "I went with my cousin who was in town for a conference. We went for restaurant week, the food was delicious! They did run out of one of the entree options but it was OK there were plenty others to choose from. The food came out in a very timely manner. The only downside was we rarely saw our server. We had wanted to order a glass of wine each after we finished our cocktail that came with the restaurant week menu but the one time she came by she said something in a different language after we received our entree and then we didn't see her again until we were finished with our dessert."

  • "Everything started off good but even with a note about my gf bday didn't even have anyone say anything. Didn't need anything free but at least say something if I made a note about it in my reservation. As of right now my card was charged twice for our dinner waiting to see if both transactions clear or what will happen. Just little things such a high class place shouldn't be messing up on."

  • "Once again, the White House shows why they are one of the best. Presentation of the dishes is one thing, but the outstanding quality of the taste assures you that they don't cut corners. One of our favorite restaurants. Never had a dish that wasn't just outstanding. Kudos to the Chef and his assistants!"

  • "Came for brunch on Sunday. Place was nearly deserted. Don't split up the bill in too many ways, as it apparently presents a riddle to the staff. Otherwise, service was terrific. Our waiter was very accommodating and everyone was very courteous. Generally, they only have champagne brunch on Sunday for about $33, but we came during OC Restaurant Week when they offered a special menu. I had a ravioli starter, braised brisket, and chocolate mousse dome for dessert. Everything was great. The only thing I didn't care for was the decor. Grotesquely overdecorated, like the Renaissance blew up inside."

  • "We dined here as part of OC Restaurant Week, and I must say, the food was excellent. We started out with drinks. The First Lady was fruity and delicious. For appetizers, the lobster ravioli was not shy of any lobster and the passion fruit dressing was delicious on the salad. As for the entrees, they were beautifully presented. Although, it was good, I just wasn't fond of the white chocolate mashed potatoes. It was too sweet for my taste. The short ribs were excellent; tender and fall apart good. As for dessert, it was good, but nothing really special. What really want to commend about this place is the customer service. The chef and owner, Bruno, greeted us as we entered. I truly enjoyed that. Thank you."

  • "I took my boyfriend to Anaheim White House for OC Restaurant week. The food was amazing! My favorite dish of the evening was the lobster ravioli. The ravioli wasn't over stuffed and perfectly cooked. Their wine list is very good and affordable. In regards to the service, it was professional and timely. Someone was always checking in on us and never had to wait a long period of time for anything we requested. We're definitely coming back again to try the remainder of the menu."

  • "I can not say enough good things about this place! The chef is very passionate and takes time to talk to his guests. This was my fifth visit and once again, the chef came out to talk to everyone. The food is outstanding, a joy to eat and look at. This restaurant REGULARLY gives back to the community which I have yet to see any other restaurant do. The service is very good as well. Greeted by everyone, personal and attentive. If you haven't eaten here, you need to, at least once in your life!"

  • "Love trying new places during OC Restaurant Week, and this place was no exception. Pulling up, I just thought, "WOW" upon seeing the building. When we were seated, we were immediately asked if we'd like water and some bread. We did not have to wait very long to give our orders, and George, our server was great. He was attentive and friendly as were all of the other wait staff that helped each other out on their various tables. I started off my meal with the Lobster Ravioli. There were only 2 on the plate, but they were GOOD portions and they were DIVINE. Next, I had their beef special, which was a braised beef in a wine sauce with horseradish sauce drizzled on top. My dessert was the mixed berries and ice cream. A+, come dine here!"
    Dined on 2/26/2014
  • "I can't believe this place is rated so highly. This place has a very old school feel. I feel that this place is frequented mostly by businessmen. My lobster ravioli was overcooked, resulting in a very soft skin. The braised beef was a let down but boiled beef rarely has much flavor. The saving grace was the chocolate dome at the end of dinner but it wasn't special enough that I'd frequent this restaurant again. Also, service was spotty, and non-existent after we received our check. And I enjoyed watching a lady at another table throw a fuss and then the server waited on her hand and foot quickly afterwards."

  • "Our waiter was not very attentive to us. The food took a long time to come. I also had to ask more than once for the wine list and our glasses of wine that we already ordered."

  • "Beautiful, well-preserved home in Anaheim that stands as a center -piece to the dining experience in that area. The air ducts come from the floor and so the rooms can get quite cold, even after the staff place menus over the grills. We had the Caesar salad, rainbow roil sushi, filet mignon and venison. Roll was terrific, fish very fresh. Caesar, as all the dishes, was nicely presented and basic, but absolutely fine. Filet was served three times to get the inside all pink and a bit salty. Venison filets were quite good and nicely prepared medium rare. In Anaheim for the Sting/Paul Simon show and would dine here again when in the area."
