  • "This is a refreshing break from over-sized portions and under-imagined main dishes. Focused on quality and freshness, the food here is creative and elegant. The ambiance at Urban Table is casual but the menu is upscale and well executed. I hope more people discover this gem at Corinth Square in Prairie Village. Three of us ate. The burger was fantastic (sister restaurant BRGR is just down the walk), The Hanger Steak was tasty and the Chicken and Gnocchi was unique and very enjoyable. Their Agua Fresca drink is also outstanding. Obviously, I will be back and bringing friends with me!"

  • "Went with a group of 4, 2 of us ordered the chicken with gnocchi...I don't recommend it, since they deep fry the gnocchi. The other two dinners were good though & there were lots of small plates that I would go back to try. Nice waiter with good wine recommendation too."

  • "I don't know why...but I went with the short rib which at most places, ok, all previous places, sounds better than it turns out to be...well, I was rewarded for my perserverance, this was the best short rib I've had, awesome! All items were very delicious and we'll definitely be going back."

  • "I came w/ out of towners and our waiter was knowledgable, but was a bit too 'laid back'. I prefer a laid back atmosphere, but he was borderline offensive by treating us like we were his friends vs. his clients/customers. He told us that for brunch, we shouldn't even look at the sandwich side of the menu b/c those items weren't worth paying attention to. I would think you want customers to think all your dishes are worthy of ordering. Especially since my husband and his sister wanted the waffle sliders. There was also confusion around pancake/waffle batter, there wasn't any left, but he said 'there might be', and we saw dishes leaving the kitchen w/ those items, but we were told 'no'. We did have a nice time, but could've been better."

Then had the Thai salad - the salad dressing was great but the chicken had no flavor and the rest of the salad was nothing special; the other person in our party had the pork chop which was very dry. He had to send it back for something else."

  • "The food, when it finally came, was tasty. However, our server was distant & aloof from the start. She disappeared for large amounts of time, didn't know menu well, and forgot to put in the order for some of our food. Also, maybe the restaurant should not put tables next to where the wait staff preps silverware- it was loud from all the metal being thrown around, and their rather sad & inappropriate (for strangers) conversation topic made our table rather uncomfortable. They might also want to dust their wall art; the ones next to our table (at our eye level) were covered with dust bunnies just waiting for a good breeze to lift them up and then down into food. The manager did right the mistakes, but still wasn't the best experience."

  • "We love Gram and Dunn and thought we would give Urban Table a try. DaMissus had the scallop special. She told me it was good. I had the buyer which I ordered medium rare. It was served so rare it was falling apart. Top quality meat but not served the way I wanted. Overall a good experience but not overwhelming."

  • "My wife and I come here regularly for breakfast and took her parents here for a brunch hoping that we got the same great food and service we always do. Unfortunately they were so busy they couldn't get the table setting correct (for 3 people instead of 4) given we made the reservation for 4 people. Also, they messed up the orders and were not very attentive. It was disappointing since we normally get very good service. I attribute part of the problem to the fact that they were way too busy and it was chaotic."

  • "This is a great little place in prairie village with an upscale vibe and a neighborhood feel. Dress was casual but if you wore a jacket to dinner you would not feel out of place. I do think wearing a suit here would be too much though. Great food, drink and service and I would go back here again."

  • "Great food, great service, great restaurant. My husband ordered the green salad with beets and the chicken flat bread. He took home 1/2 of the flat bread due to the large portion. I had the salmon over root veges and wild rice. It was wonderful. For dessert---the flourless chocolate cake, which was like eating fudge. Yummy! We were seated by the windows (constructed to open up in nice weather), which were a bit drafty. The noise level on this Saturday evening was definitely energetic, but we could still converse without too much difficulty. The service was great. We will definitely be back."

  • "Have dined here on several occasions, but this last time was disappointing. I have always found the menu somewhat limited (food allergies, dietary restrictions), but have usually been able to adapt their menu choices to meet my needs. Their overall menu lacks detailed description; their version of "Salmon Napoleon" for example is a blob of creme fraîche (looked more like cream cheese), paper-thin layer of salmon on top, and the plate was completely covered with potato chips (no mention of potato chips on menu). Not anything close to a traditional "Salmon Napoleon." They were stunned when I told them to take it back; was not as described on menu."

  • "I love Urban Table, really I do, but I've had really mixed experiences lately. My husband and I come for brunch quite often, and typically leave happy, but this Sunday, we told there would be a 30 minute wait, totally fine, well 30 minutes came and went. We finally sat down close to an hour after waiting, and were placed at the worst table right in front of the door, where it was freezing. We didn't stay. The other night I went again for dinner, and while the service and drinks were spectacular, the food was lacking. The hummus of the day, black olive was terribly bland. My chicken was just alright, the skin was not crispy whatesoever and the sauce lacked salt. The hanger steak, however, was fantastic, cooked perfectly and heavenly."

  • "I wouldn't call it overly romantic, but Urban Table was exactly the type of place my wife and I love for dates. Good drinks menu, awesome small plates and dinner options. It had that enjoyable buzz that goes along with a well-loved spot, but the noise wasn't overbearing. We had a fantastic time and I absolutely recommend it."

  • "My husband and I had eaten brunch at Urban Table before and were looking forward to taking his parents there for a Valentines/Birthday dinner. We started with drinks, wine and an Urban Mule, and I think their copper mugs might be the SMALLEST I've ever seen. But tasted good nonetheless. Appetizers (deviled eggs and artichoke fritters) were decent. The fritters ended up being the highlight of my evening because my entree was not good. I had the pan roasted chicken w/ gnocchi. Chicken skin was rubbery and unseasoned, there was little to no sauce on the dish, and there were only 5 small gnocchi on the plate. And they weren't good. Everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy their food - the short ribs and grits were very tasty."

  • "I read many reviews about this place before and was already pre-warned that the service wasn't very good and that definitely held true. We might've just had a bad server and it could've been an isolated event. Fortunately, the food is worth the crappy service. I got their steak/potatoes and it was amazing. My wife got their burger and it was one of the best burgers we've ever had. The only problem I had with the food is that the portions were really small but the quality was great. I'd say it's still worth trying the place out but just be prepared."

  • "We loved the atmosphere at Urban Table, very chic! Our appetizer of sampler bruschettas was delicious...so was my husband's hamburger. Unfortunately, my entrée was a bit disappointing. I ordered the chicken and gnocchi and it wasn't at all what I expected. It was basically 2 pieces of rotisserie chicken with about 5 huge pieces of what they call gnocchi. The gnocchi was chewy, dry and tasteless. I would definitely give this restaurant another shot as we loved the vibe and definitely think other items on the menu might be more palatable. I think I just picked the wrong dish."

  • "Tables were so close together it felt like we were sitting at one big table with a bunch of strangers, hardly a romantic night out. Food was disappointing at best. My chicken was undercooked and had very little flavor while my wife's burger was overdone and had very little flavor. Our waitress was very difficult to hear and didn't seem to know the menu very well at all. We were seated in the patio portion where the heaters were so hot it was uncomfortable."

  • "We heard people rave about Urban Table so a few friends and I decided to try it out. The staff must have been really understaffed because our waiter was not attentive. We ordered the (3) spread appetizer and it came with 4 - 5 pieces of bread. There was much more spread than bread so we requested more bread and finally got it after 15 minutes when our meal was delivered. We had to flag down a few different waiters to get a water / drink refills multiple times and the entrees were average. I was disappointed because people had built this restaurant up to be "wow!" and for us it was less than average. It may have been an off night but unfortunately it was not pleasant enough for us to want to try it again."

  • "Loved my experience the first time at Urban Table - Dinner. Thought it would be a great place to take a few friends for a special "girls day out." Lunch menu sparce and food was just okay. Out of the four of us, not one, was totally satisfied with our lunch. Expensive & not super tasty. Don't mind spending the dollars when you walk away satisfied. Nothing to "rave" about!! Would not revisit for lunch....unless complimentary, then would retry."

  • "For my Sister's Birthday she picked the Urban Table. First time for all so went on word of mouth and reputation. Drinks were great! Wine on the pricy side, but the beer selections good. Urban Mule and it was very good. Note to bartender, cut your fruit a little smaller, they take up half of the glass. The reason we're there was to eat. The menu "Sounds" great. Does not translate to the plate that way at all. Hummus was good. Deviled Eggs just okay. Bacon Wrapped chicken livers very dry! The Burger and Hanger Steak were the winners for our table. Thai Chicken Salad... very uneventful and lacking dressing. Chicken N Dumplings overcooked and dry. Short Ribs-overcooked and dry. Pork chop-overcooked and dry. Won't be back :("

  • "I had heard about Urban Table for several years. The menu sounded amazing, and I was excited to try it out. We went for Restaurant Week and ordered off the special menu. I was informed the soup of the day was a Potato Bacon Soup, so that was a no brainer. But when my soup arrived, it somehow morphed into a Chicken and Wild Rice. Strike one. My date ordered the Salmon. When it came out, it was over cooked and chewy. Strike 2. I ordered the Chicken and Dumplings, while cooked perfectly it was seasoned poorly. It had no flavor. It claimed to be in a creamy mushroom broth, I tasted neither cream nor mushrooms in the broth. Just bland water. Strike 3. I probably won't be back."

  • "Maybe reviewing a restaurant during restaurant week isn't always great. The service wasn't the best maybe just a busy night and things may have been behind. Our reservation was for 7pm we were seated about 7:20. Our waiter was nice enough and explained the selections and made recommendations. We were mostly though our first round of drinks by the time the appetizers came. These were off the restaurant week menu so I figured they would be ready to come out right away. Once they came the fried artichoke was great. The rest of the food came out timely. The food was good not great. Over $100 for 2 people probably many other restaurants to choose from that would be better at that price. I like the BRGR better."

  • "We went for restaurant week... our waitress was fantastic. Roasted red pepper soup and chicken flatbread were both delicious and good size portions. I got the Chef's Creation, which was a petite filet with crispy potatoes... fabulous. My boyfriend got the chicken and dumplings, but was not overly impressed. Dessert: flourless chocolate cake. So good, but we were almost too full to enjoy it. I loved that we were able to try a variety of things at a great value and leave full. I will definitely go back and told all my coworkers about it! Dit on the porch area if you can."

  • "Nice wine selection. Really liked the appetizer: Trio of Spreads, and the Napa salad was fresh and light. Unfortunately, the risotto came out very clumpy and not the creamy dish I expected. Also the salmon had a very "fishy" taste and smell, and was quite underseasoned. A few lemons that we had to request helped. They did offer me a different entree, and the new dish was "chicken and dumplings," which consisted of mushroom gnocchi, roasted chicken and carrots. Although much better that the risotto, again everything seemed bland and underseasoned. The gnocchi was really thick and chewy. The dessert was definitely the best part: flourless chocolate cake. All in all, if we were to return it would be for drinks and appetizers only."
