This is the top restaurant in Raleigh, and one of the top restaurants in the Triangle, for innovative, fresh, seasonal food. It can be an expensive evening, but there are alternatives on the menu to ease the pain. The service is particularly commendable, prompt without intrusiveness. The food was much better, but lacked any depth of flavor. While my wife's crab cakes were good, they weren't exceptional and as presented, they looked like three brown balls on the plate. My Garlic Chili Shrimp were quite bland and had neither the flavor of garlic nor chili.
On two occasions, the waiter cleared condiments and dishes from our table before we were finished.
It was off-putting to have worn/previously used wooden chop sticks.

The service was excellent. This was our first time and our waiter Kyle, explained the menu and recommended some great drink, beginnings and entrees. I had the Ginger Mojito and my wife had the Apple Pear Margarita. We started with Peking Duck and Viet Roll. For our entrees, I had the Garlic Chili Prawns (oh my!!!) and my wife had the Boarder Springs Lamb (best lamb I've ever tasted). I had a glass of an Austrian white that was very good with the meal (thanks Kyle). We had the chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven for desert. I ate 4 and my wife only got 2. What a night. Our appetizers and entrees were prepared and presented to perfection. The ambiance is lovely. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We had dinner in the main dining area, but if you are a fan of sushi, for example, there is a separate space for that. There is also a nice open bar area and some outside seating.
You will pay a bit, however, for this little piece of heaven, particularly if you include libations. But what the heck. We were pleasantly greeted by (2) very professional hostesses, one of whom, seemed to ready and waiting on our arrival. As she lead my wife to the table, she complimented her on her dress and congratulated her on our anniversary.
Our waitress, Jaeda, was professional and went the extra mile to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. The food was properly timed with no mistakes in the order or the quality. The chef sent out a complimentary bowl of edema-me for our occasion. All in all, it was "Everything I Asked For". Delightful Experience!!

We ordered white dragon roll, Oysters, and for the entree, we shared the veggie lo mein.
The lo mein was a bit too salty, and we had mentioned that to the server, and he immediately took care of that. He brought it back to our table and tasted much better.
I am a firm believer that if the service is good, the food will taste much better than expected. "An" was the perfect example in this case.
Great environment, great people, and above average food.
I went with a friend (she has been there before), and we both enjoyed it!
