Amuse RestaurantDelicious food, attentive service. This is a sweet little restaurant with carefully prepared food and great service. We go every year when we are in Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival; it is one of our top three places for fine dining here. It has the best chocolate dessert in town, bar none!!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMJust ask to be fed!We chose Amuse as part of our recent trip to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We'd seen it on previous trips but had never tried it. What a treat! Rather than agonizing over the many possible combinations, we put our fate into the hands of our server and simply asked to be fed. He smiled and said, "I can do that." What followed was a wonderful pairing of food and wine with detailed explanations of everything put before us. Subtle, thoughtful flavors and textures; beautiful presentations; vibrant colors that only come from spot on preparation; impeccable service. Go to Ashland. Support live theater. Eat at Amuse.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the scallops with favaWe had the scallops with fava beans, radishes, and mushrooms. It was the best scallops that we ever had. This was an anniversary dinner. It was special with a best wishes on our dessert plate. Just lovely.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprisingWe selected this restaurant based on a friends recommendation. The food was outstanding and more flavorful than your average French restaurant. There were enough courses to make sure that you had plenty of food. We don't drink so I cannot comment on the wine list. Next time I would start with the cheese as an appetizer.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Post Theater dinnerWe enjoyed dinner after seeing an afternoon performance of King Lear at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The food, wine and service at Amuse Restaurant were all wonderful. I highly recommend it for a special dinner.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentFine food, great service, lovely ambience. Would gladly return.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWell Amuse'd!Dinner last Sunday night. Great table for 4 in a raised alcove which quieted the noise level. The shaved asperagus salad was lovely - light and tangy. Three hanger steaks and one scallop entree. The steaks were outstanding and they happily substituted frites for the one person who could not eat creamed spinach. The person who had the scallops deemed them a bit salty but scraped the plate. Beignets with creme anglaise and a hazelnut crepe with strawberries and chocolate hazelnut ice cream rounded out an excellent experience. Will definitely be back when we are back up in the fall!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently ExcellentA group of friends and I go to Ashland twice a year for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We generally eat at Amuse once or twice a year and have done for at least the last ten years. It is consistently excellent, and did not disappoint this year. As usual, our service was excellent. Our server Tristan was attentive and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food itself is superb; with the ribeye, the hanger steak, the prawns, and the scallops being standouts. A minor quibble: The menu does not change very much over time; it would be nice to see Amuse shake it up a bit. But it is hard to argue with the program when the food is so good.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went there twiceGreat place. We went two times...on our way to Portland and on our way back.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant in Ashland! We had an outstanding meal at Amuse! Starting with the tiny amuse bouche, every dish was delicious and beautiful. This is the very best restaurant in Ashland. And it is only a couple blocks from the theaters! Terrific!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMan Ashland favoriteOur group decided that we could keep returning to Amuse for every meal during our Ashland stay and be very satisfied! The spring onion soup was the usual amazingly smooth flavorful soup that we have come to expect. The asparagus salad with egg was not what was expected and the dressing was somewhat overpowering but still interesting. Hangar steak was fantastic, scallops wonderful, halibut was underwhelming with little accompanyment. Desserts were great. Surprisingly, the service was not up to the usual standards that we expect at Amuse. Confusing table oversite and we had to summon for service at several points in the meal. While this wasn't the best meal we've had at Amuse - we will continue to make this our favorite Ashland restaurant.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood GemThis was a prefect restaurant for a meal before the theatre. We sat in the window booth which was very cosy . My mom enjoyed her fish and I had a wonderful salad with a cheese plate just right before a long evening. The shared dessert was great. Would go back again.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat eveningVery nice. Food was great, service was great and prices were reasonable.
We'll be back.
Thank you,5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMconsistantly excellentI have been to Amuse twice in the last 8 months and both times the food and service were outstanding! The first time last September we sat outside in the back with a large group and everything we tried from appetizers to dessert was so delicious and the service outstanding. The second time last Friday we went with a small group of 4 and the fish, salad, rib-eye steak, hangar steak, and game hen were perfect in every way. Our waiter who was the manager was very knowledgeble about the wine and food and gave prompt thoughtful service. I recommend this restaurant highly!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed an exceptionalWe enjoyed an exceptional dinner accompanied by superb service. The prawns were delicious-- can't find a better grilled prawn dish anywhere. The grilled asparagus were also tasty. The game hen is a classic preparation refined-- it doesn't get any better. Hangar steak was wonderful and the rhubarb crisp dessert capped off a masterpiece of a meal.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at Amuse is amazing! The food at Amuse is amazing! The service is impeccable. The staff is doting without being intimidating or stuffy. A world class meal with the comfort of your neighborhood restaurant. The food is just as good if not better than Bouchon or Hurley's in Yountville, CA. I especially appreciate the bread--perfectly done: soft center with crunchy crust, with soft, hand salted butter.
Perfectly romantic setting.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe live good and our experienceWe live good and our experience at Amuse was top notch.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOf the several top rated restaurantOf the several top rated restaurants we visited this week, Amuse was outstanding.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite restaurant inOur favorite restaurant in Ashland. Just wished we lived closer4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was (4/13/13) probablyThis was (4/13/13) probably my fifth time to Amuse. All have been very good. This time was great. All in my group of three thought the food was wonderful, and we had some picky eaters. the service was timely and sensitive to our play schedule. Very good local wine choices, with some moderately priced. I'm looking forward to going back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our third visit toThis was our third visit to this fine restaurant and each occasion was a wonderful dining experience. As usual our table was ready at the reserved time and the restaurant was full. Service is prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. The food is memorable. On this occasion we shared a perfectly done rib eye and marvelous crispy thin cut french fries. We brought in a 1978 Ch. Gruad Larose. Our waiter handled it with aplomb (old corks can be difficult) and, to our surprise, waived the usual corkage fee. This is the kind or restaurant I would expect to find tucked into a New York neighborhood, treasured by locals. We will be returning any time we pass through Ashland.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was fantastic! TheThe food was fantastic! The Warm Kale Caesar salad was so delicious. The boneless rib eye was cooked to perfection. We will definately go back on our next visit to Ashland.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
