Amuse was recommended by out of
town friends for its charm and fine food. It did not disappoint. Food was excellent, presentation and plating sophisticated, staff attentive and professional. Dining area is small, intimate. We were seated near the front window where the view of the street neither distracted nor added to our enjoyment of the evening. We had just enough feeling of separation from other diners, and the noise level was negligible in spite of the room being small. All four of us chose fresh halibut, which was cooked perfectly. Salads were unique and large enough to split. Total cost of meal was high, courses are a la carte. Dinner for four with two bottles of wine was around $255 including tip. Nice place for celebratory meal."

We have dined & Amuse many times
over the past 8 years. This experience was honestly less than we had come to expect. The beet salad was very flat with the rice accoutrement. The scallops were wonderful but the au jus had nothing to absorb the flavor as they sat on Lima beans and hard cut vegetables. It didn't work. The game hen and kale was saturated with truffle oil. I love the flavor of truffle but when that is ALL you taste, it's disappointing."

Four of us had a meal at Amuse
recently. Every bite on every plate was excellent. We've dined in San Francisco, La, and Seattle, and this was I the equal of any restaurant there. Innovative combinations of locally available produce, delicious modern takes on French classics, and some flat out strangeness (chocolate ganache with beet sauce and olives) that still managed to be tasty."

Wonderful dining! Innovative local
fresh cuisine fit for any foodie!"

We loved this restaurant! Intimate
setting, but not stuffy or pretentious. The food was absolutely delicious - from the green garlic soup, asparagus salad to the rib eye steak, halibut with fresh peas and roasted game hen. Service was also just right - friendly and helpful. Will definitely return the next time we visit our child at SOU. Loved it!"

Lovely restauirant. Each room was
small making for an intimate dining experience. The service was first rate. The food was amazing. In particular the benignets that ended the meal were so light yet crisp and flavorful. The best I've ever had putting New Orleans's Cafe du Monde to shame."

Have never had anything at Amuse
that wasn't perfection itself. A delightful place to dine."
Dined on 4/2/2014
We always plan one splurge meal at
Amuse when we come down for plays. We look forward to the meal as much as they theater."

food was excellent from appetizers
clear thru to the dessert-the best part was our server, Megan who made our anniversary dinner very pleasant. She was attentive without being overbearing so we could enjoy a great meal in peace."

Top notch creative and a place not
to be passed up"

We will return every time we visit
Ashland. Exceptional food and service."

3rd visit in 5 years, every time
we are in the area, we make reservations a month ahead of time just to be sure we have a spot. I am sure they could fit us in without, but we like to be sure."

Having dined here a fair number of
times I have to say that it is without a doubt the best place to eat in Southern Oregon. The menu is constantly changing and neither myself or my wife have ever had a disappointing dish. The service is always impeccable too... I only wish I could dine here more often and their winter "three course Thursday" special really helps make that a reality. If you haven't dined here yet or were on the fence I would really recommend checking it out!"
Dined on 11/21/2013
Every single dish we had was
outstanding. Service was efficient, polite yet warm. Portion sizes were respectably petite only so there was room for the fantastic desserts. We left feeling full but not bursting, delighted, & intrigued. We will be back"

We enjoyed a belated Valentine's
Day dinner here on Sunday, passing on the February Sunday Supper offering and heading straight for the tried-and-true ribeye... And were not disappointed. Thank you, Tristan, for once again providing exquisite but not overly-attentive service."

Amuse is one of our favorite
restaurants in the Rogue Valley. The food is consistently creative, fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully. The service is excellent, the staff knowledgeable. We highly recommend Amuse. Richard Boucher"

Stepping into Amuse is like
walking into a Parisian bistro. Valentine Night Dinner 2014 was especially fine, with rose petals strewn all over the place, the lighting and ambiance the epitome of romance. Could not fault any aspect of the meal from the fondue to the best chocolate dessert we have ever had in our lives. The waiter was extraordinary and made our experience at Amuse perfect. We cannot wait to return."

Dining at Amuse is something
special and consequently it was the perfect choice for a romantic and exquisite Valentine's dinner. The food was truly amazing and the service was impeccable. The prices are high but in this case you o get what you paid for and it is worth it."

I enjoyed this restaurant last
weekend with a friend and my boyfriend. The service was excellent. One odd thing was that the restaurant was not busy, and yet we were seated right next to another table of three. It seems that out of courtesy, we would have been seated away from the adjacent, and rather loud table. The mood is calm, lighting subdued, and is a nice choice for a romantic dinner. The menu is fine. I thought there could be a few more choices, but what we all ordered was excellent. I liked that the menu offered cheese, which I prefer to dessert. Very good first experience to this charming restaurant in the heart of Ashland."

Food very average could of got a
better dinner for $50 less. If you want a fine dining experience to remember go elsewhere."

What else to say? The tops!!
Excellent cuisine, nice wine list, clean and quite a gem."

Amuse is the fave of the
culinarily indiscriminate far left hipster wannabe looking more for a city vibe than a great meal. To be kind, I will say the owners are frugal. Do I really have to ask for bread? Yes. You won't get it otherwise. The food is beyond salty hiding a multitude of sins, i.e: grocery meat. If you have high blood pressure, beware! Portions are small, not to be French, but to save money. The staff is indifferent. Don't ask for a specific table. Once there, you won't get it. There's the gaseous aspect as well. 1st time I went, I thought it was me. 2nd time, I knew it was them. No thought (or cash) was given to the cheap chic decor, the space itself is cramped & the seating too small. Maybe I'm just not hip enough."

We had an enjoyable dinner, but my
wife had a hard time finding an entree that suited her, was not wowed when she stretched on her first course, and could not find a digestif with their limited selection. Our waiter gracefully answered her questions and contritely reported when they could not find options."
Dined on 12/31/2013
We have already raved about Amuse
to our family and friends. We agree it is comparable to Paley's Place in Portland. So awesome! Tristan was our server and he did an amazing job!"

Charming, elegant, romantic venue.
Experienced, attentive, friendly waitstaff. Creative, delicious food with a lovely wine list. Reservations easily done online and had no problem finding parking close by."
Dined on 12/31/2013
Quiet, elegant, cozy, Amuse is a
fine restaurant. The bread, served at the beginning of the meal with fleur-de-sel sprinkled butter, is as close as it gets to authentic and high quality French bread. As a main course, the scallops were perfectly prepared, gently cooked and with a lot of subtle flavors: they were served with sunchoke purée, baby beets, cipolinni (tiny onions), beech mushroom and a curry emulsion. The chocolate truffle cake was also a piece of art in itself, with pungent melting chocolate in the middle, contrasting with the delicate coffee ice cream accompanying it. Make sure your reservation is early in the evening for the Sunday supper as they had ran out of it by the time of our 7:30pm reservation."

A wonderful place to dine for
special occasions, or just because you want a fantastic dinner during the week and don't feel like, or don't have the time to prepare it yourself. Creative appetizers, entres, and desserts, great for the palette and a feast for the eyes!"

We are long-time fans of Amuse and
always enjoy the experience of dining here. Now that we live in Ashland we have more opportunities to see and enjoy what Eric and staff put out. His kitchen has found a nice balance between offering dishes you want to come back for (like the Truffle Roasted Game Hen) and dishes that bring something unexpected to the table (like the Bouillabaisse at a recent Sunday Supper). Same goes for desserts. The airy, dreamy beignets are here to stay and at least one person in a given party should order this dessert and attempt to share it with the table. But don't miss out on the pastry chef's other strengths, namely, every other--new or seasonal--dessert on the menu."

We have been here almost yearly
since they opened. We go when we visit inlaws in mearby Medford. We have never been dissapointed. Everything is always good including the choices and the service. It is a gem to us!"

As always the best in Ashland.
Always creative. Always delicious. And not crazy expensive (just expensive-ish). Never miss it when in Ashland."

Gluten free and vegan friendly.
Fresh. Local. The celery root soup (GF) was a great start, light and fresh, not too heavy. An asian pear salad with blue cheese from down the street. Porcini crusted wild halibut and mushroom sauce screamed of the quintessential french flavors. We finished with a spanish cheese plate with marcona almonds and candied fennel (unlike anything I ever had, I am still figuring out the recipe). We chose great Oregon wines that were well priced. The service was aware and adjusted as the evening progressed without a hitch. I would enjoy the same meal again and I am looking forward to future menus."

We had the rustic dinner for
November 10th. Loved it. It was wonderful. Would recommend trying their rustic dinners on Sunday."
Dined on 11/10/2013
They did it again. The steaks, the
wine, even the tried-and-true prawns... Everything was delicious. A gorgeous radicchio salad, incredible celery root soup... Just marvelous. Thank you chef and front of house staff for a lovely meal and evening."
Dined on 11/3/2013
We had a sensational meal here.
Very good about asking if we were headed to a play. My wife had the rib eye, which was perfect. I had the game hen, which was moist and terrific. Beignets for desert were out of this world. Beautiful bottle of Ruffino Prosecco. Doesn't get much better than this."
Dined on 11/2/2013
Delicious, gormet food using
fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. The presentation is always delightful. As for the staff, they are always charming and friendly. The side dining room is cozy and romantic-perfecy for special occaisions like anniversaries, birthdays or engagements."

Every dish is nicely presented and
prepared. Tasty flavors. The prawns appetizer is exceptional as is the game hen entree. Duck leg confit was delicious."

I have been eating here for years
every time I go to Ashland and I am never disappointed. My favorite items are the steak with frites and their beignets."

This was our first time at Amuse
and we all loved it! We will be going back."

A couple of weeks ago, when my
visiting mother asked me to find a nice restaurant for the two of us, I (a somewhat new resident of Ashland) surveyed friends and co-workers for ideas. The names of three restaurants came up multiple times. I forwarded links to their menus to my mom and asked her to pick. She chose Amuse. And I have to say, after having my best-ever Ashland meal at Amuse, I don't know that my mom and I will ever try the other two. Amuse was mouth-wateringly delicious from the squash soup amuse brouche to the warm chocolate truffle cake dessert. Yummmmmmmmm!"
