  • "We had the hibachi style dinner experience at Amura and it was fantastic. We had the best chef who prepared our meal- he was conversational, warm, and prepared such a delicious meal! We also had a spicy tuna roll which I highly recommend. If and when we return to Orlando, I will definitely go again! Thank you to Amura staff!"

  • "After some research and recommendation from concierge we chose to have dinner at Amura One entrance is covered with paper ads and walking thru main door was disappointing You walk right into the far end of a sleazy bar and the decor needs an upgrade Waitress seemed confused and the order of food delivered was out of synch Baby octopus was to be an appetizer but close to end of meal it had not arrived, so I requested that it be cancelled and was told that I could not because "someone was being sent to the fish market to get it " at 8:00 on a Friday night Oh well...would go to Dragonfly or Moon Fish instead"

  • "We come here probably once a week. Love the food. Love the staff. Never been disappointed."

  • "The restaurant is outdated. Plates were chipped, server uniformed faded and wrinkled. Food was questionable ob freshness."

  • "For the prices, I expected better. The menu made the dishes sound better than they were; we enjoy a good sushi restaurant and found this one to be only "fair". Service was slow both from the kitchen and the server. The restaurant was about three quarters full on a Tuesday night, so I don't think I want to be here on a weekend. We will try it again in a few months and hope things are better."

  • "Great food for a reasonable price. Would definitely eat there again."

  • "We had a party of 7 and everyone was able to find something delicious. It was a little loud but not distractingly so. There were just a lot of people, and the energy level was high. Very enjoyable evening!"

  • "The food was wonderful, the staff was very nice, but it was a little noisy."

  • "Loved the selection of rolls. The food was great. My group told the server when we sat down we wanted ssperate checks and she refused. The server complained all her tables wanted ssperate checks and it was too difficult for her and we would have to figure it out ourselves. The server was very slow with food service and would avoid eye contact with the members of my party."

  • "Amura was decent. I'm from Chicago where you can find outstanding fresh tasting sushi anywhere. This place lacked authenticity. I always am weary of sushi spots that over dress the maki rolls with sauces and creme. We ordered the sashimi platter and Mexican roll. The sashimi was decent. However, the Mexican maki roll had canned jalapeno!!! I've NEVER seen this at a sushi restaurant. The bottle of wine was delicious, just can't remember the name. It was a white wine."

  • "We were in town for a conference and hit this restaurant the last time we were here in 2011 because it was so good back then. The sushi was AMAZING again. So delicious. Unfortunately, the service was dreadfully slow. Our reservation was at 8:00 pm and we were on time. We didn't get our drinks for 30 minutes and didn't eat until after 9:00 pm. The restaurant didn't appear to be that busy either so we weren't sure why it took so long for everything. We still had a great time."

  • "We had as usually Sushi in a very good quality but sometimes the service is not as you expect. They should invest in new outdoor tables and chairs because it's outdated, broken and not nice"
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "Sushi is excellent as is the knowledge of the staff! Great, romantic atmosphere. This has become our new favorite restaurant!"

  • "First and foremost, Amura reported to Open Table that we didn't honor our reservation. Boo! We enjoyed the restaurant overall, though our waitress spoke such poor English that it made it difficult to order. When it came to bar drinks, she had almost no ability to comprehend and we had to write our drinks down for her so she could take the order to the bar. The drinks were also very slow. The food however, was fast, and quite good. The restaurant would have received 4 stars had the server been more appropriate to a high end restaurant and had we not been mis-reported to OT."

  • "Fitst time I have been there since they remodeled. John, our waiter as great! Food was very good. However, the ambiance is like a hospital cafeteria. Harsh lighting not lending itself to romance. Dull design with virtually no hint of Asian influence. Probably won't return since Ambiance is huge with me when eating dinner out."

  • "Good sushi and was not that crowded for a Friday night."

  • "Just happened upon this restaurant and what great find!. Delicious Sushi and a very helpful wait staff. Will definetly be back!"

  • "Amura has an extensive list of creative sushi rolls. And even with tons of local competition, it remains one of the best sushi restaurants for quality and flavor. The prices are fairly standard for a nicer sushi restaurant. The decor at Sand Lake is interesting at first glance but still somewhat dated (and the light fixtures were incredibly dusty when you looked up). The service was hurried and not particularly attentive, though there seemed to be enough staff and still a good handful of empty tables. Overall, it rates well for food but wouldn't be an ideal special occasion locale."

  • "I've been many times and the sushi is consistently incredible. The tuna tower is a favorite of ours and the volcano roll is a close second. Service can be a little sketchy, but worth for the sushi."

  • "It was our first visit, but we are coming back becaused it is a great and friendly place"

  • "The food was good, would have been better without the tempura in the asparagus rolls. This is my niece's favorite sushi place and it offers Happy Hour specials until 7 p.m. (We were there on a Thursday night.) Waitress very helpful and accommodating. I would like to try some entrees next time."

  • "This is not the location for a romantic night out. The location had very bright lighting and was loud. We could barely hear one another or our waitress. Food was excellent but highly priced."

  • "I can not say enough how good the sushi is at Amura."
    Dined on 1/7/2014
  • "Prep time took a bit of time, appetizers ordered at the Teppan Table always seem to take very long. Once we got going the dinner went well and speedy. Food was very good."

  • "We found this gem via Open Table as we are visiting from the frozen north. It was great and we will probably return in the future."

  • "Thank You Sean for the delicious food and great night!"

  • "slow service, food delivered as ready came out one by one , rest waiting for their food 15 minutes late, just amateurish inexperienced staff"

  • "Went to Amura only because of the great reviews. My husband ordered dumpling soup. After a 20 minute wait, the waiter came over to tell him that they ran out of DUMPLINGS!!!!!!! Had also ordered our sushi at the same time as the soup. We wasted more than 45 minutes for our sushi. People around us that came in after us had been served already. At one point we were ready to walk out. When the sushi did come it was mediocre at best. Will not return."

  • "Food was pretty good, as I expected. I also had the Blue Hawaiian martini which was amazing. Atmosphere was fun, I read it wasn't traditionally "Japanese," but I enjoyed it regardless. However, our service was very slow. We watched other servers be attentive to their tables while being ignored, several times, by ours. Even when we paid the check we must have waited 10 mins for her just to take it off the table."

  • "We selected this restaurant because it was a Japanese Steak House and I was told it was rated #1 in Florida. It lived up to that top position. First, we arrived early and got the low-priced early bird special. Second, the chef was great cooking right to order. Third, the food selection and taste were great! Our party of 5 even had to bring leftovers back with us. I highly recommend this place for any occasion!"

  • "We love this restaurant. The food is fresh and service great. The kids love the entertaining chiefs."

  • "One of my favorite restaurants. The sushi is reliably excellent, and this time went early enough to enjoy some Happy Hour sushi specials (there was no skimping despite the discount; the happy hour rolls were definitely full size). The only unusual thing was there were different spice levels between the spicy tuna in different rolls; first time it happened in 7yrs going; still great taste and perhaps a little welcome relief as at least 3 rolls had spicy tuna in them."

  • "When we want Japanese food we go to Amura. The sushi is beautifully prepared and the entres are also nicely presented. They all taste good too. We have dined there over 20 times and are guests always come away from the experience very pleased. Their Happy Hour also provides some outstanding choices."
