The food was decent. I go to a lot of sushi places so this wasn't so bad. The service was pretty slow with getting our orders and bringing our checks. Overall, good place though.

Food was very good. Not your typical Sushi menu. Went on Thursday and place was not crowded. Service a bit slow for a light crowd. Manager did come by to inquire about the food. That is good. Modern decor with 3 sections for dining (upstairs overlooks main floor). Nice long liquor bar and Sushi bar with easy view into the kitchen.

Beautiful restaurant, sushi was delicious. Other cuisine such as main courses were bland and tasteless. Service was extremely slow and poor... they forgot soy sauce with sushi, drinks took about 20-30minutes. They showed $7 bottle of sake promo, and brought out a tiny container serving for 3... deceiving. When questioned, the Server said, "yea, sorry. Oh well."- ??? Food did not come out in order that it was placed. They need to improve lots here.... very unsatisfying.

My friends have been raving about this restaurant's gourmet rice. I really thought they were exaggerating about its awesomeness. But they weren't! It was DELICIOUS. If I return for the rice alone that would be enough to bring me back. But the sushi was also superb as well as the ambience. Definitely a great spot and I will return!

    Dined on 3/21/2014
My office is nearby so we went for lunch for Bento Boxes. They have an entire Bento Box menu, where you can practically customize your Bento! I HIGHLY SUGGEST the Deluxe Bento Box, which includes real sushi with it, as well as some great proteins (both chicken and beef). You'll also get shrimp tempura, an egg roll, salad and other wonderful goodies. Come here for dinner and get the sushi boat...they have a few to choose from. Each has a beautiful presentation, and above all, very good, very fresh, innovative sushi. This is where I take everyone who is looking for high end sushi or a bento box like no other.

  • Vibrant Sushi, Otherworldly Steak

Who says Japanese food cannot be fun? Yes, there is deep beauty in sushi served in the traditional way, but adding a zany, modern texture to the tapestry adds a whole new dimension to the experience! The rolls are to die for--names like Bubba, Dragon, Dancing Eel, Tango Mango, and Pink Lady are meant to appeal to your fun, relaxed side, but don't let that fool you; each roll has been conceived in care and is prepared with expertise. And if you're not a sushi person, there's also steak, including the vaunted Kobe steak. Pricey, yes, but well worth the money for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There just is nothing quite like it.

The sushi was fantastic, very creative... MUST TRY THE TANGO MANGO ROLL... It was awesome!! For a drink from the bar I highly recommend Moscow Mule... Very tasty ... The amaretto sour was very tasty as well.... Beautiful restaurant with amazing sushi... Also had a dinner entree "the trio" very tasty!! Loved my experience there.... Going back soon!!

I had a business meeting in Buckhead and my guest suggested Amura (which can be a little hard to find, until you realize that it's in the Terminus Building). The valet parking at the front door is great, there is a garage too. The decor of the restaurant is modern, but not intimidating. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing or snotty. They have a great selection of sushi (everything I had was fresh and delicious). Our server recommended the Bubba Roll, it was delightful and the Hawaiian Roll was exquisite! The presentation of the sushi is marvelous too. I noticed some reviews said the sushi was overpriced, but it seemed on par with the rest of intown sushi places. I will definitely be back!

Even amongst the distinguished restaurants in Buckhead, this one stands out. And given the price point, it's a steal. Super fresh sushi/sashimi! Last time I tried their Kobe Steak, and it was an out-of-body experience. Even if you can't afford it regularly, try it just once for the experience. I'm working my way through their menu, and they're all great; there's always a little something extra they do to make it pop. I come here every week, and I am excited every time.

If you are able to travel to Tokyo or Osaka at a moment's whim to sample the finest restaurants there, good for you. But if you're like most Atlanta denizens and must stay in Atlanta most of the time, then your best bet is Amura!! The moment you walk in, the beautiful interior transports you to some wonderful otherworld. We ordered dishes one exquisite plate after another, course-meal fashion, and we felt like we were having omakase--for a tenth of the normal price. Some of us didn't want sushi, so they got steak; believe it or not, that was great, too. I can't recommend this place enough. My hands-down favorite restaurant in Atlanta.

Title says it all, it was beyond my expectation. It was not a usual Americanized mayo heavy sushi that most of people are used to, instead I got to try real sushi. I do not eat rolls but they offered many of perfectly balanced rolls with only fresh ingredients, it tasted better than nigiris and sashimi that i usually order. For other sushi lovers, take a note!! they offer uni (sea urchin) and ama ebi (sweet shrimp) that are fresh!! not the ones been sitting in show case for days. I strongly recommend this hidden gem for serious sushi lovers!!!!

I was surprised by this hidden gem in buck head. I studied Hotel and Restaurant management and love to experience new restaurants, So I happened to make a reservation here at Amura and was very surprised with their food. I tried their cow boy steak (which is about 22 oz rib eye I believe at about $35) and some fresh nigiri, meat was perfectly cooked as MR and sushi was extremely fresh. I have many years of experience in FOH and BOH, I will guarantee that this is the spot to satisfy your craving

I went for my birthday and the place was okay, though I probably won't go back. I think they are a bit over priced, especially for the quality of food they are serving; it didn't exactly scream really good Japanese for me. Their sushi list has a lot of good options, but you could probably find better at other places. I enjoyed the scenery, but it didn't exactly make up for the food.

MF Sushi previously occupied this space so we went in hopeful of a comparable, high quality, dining experience. Not even close. We ordered multiple dishes from their specialties and none were anything special. Our server tried hard so I rated the service good but the quality of the sushi just doesn't hold up to other places in ATL.

Management allowed themselves to be overbooked - I know this because the waitstaff were lamenting about it to the customers that had been waiting with reservations for the previous hour. Do we do this, yes. People leave reservations open and never show up. Do we do this on Valentine's Day? NO! 95%+ keep their reservations on this day. Poorly staffed for the Holiday. This could have been okay had they not overbooked. Prepare your tables ahead of time with utensils. Got our food and had nothing to eat it with and nothing to play with while waiting. At least ONE person to run water - Seated 45 minutes with no water. Too many chiefs - Need one person to keep track of coming and one to keep track of going when this busy. Food 4 star! :)
