Diner Reviews
  • "My significant other and I went to the Brewery for dinner pre-concert. I had originally made reservations hoping to be on the patio. However, because it was raining all day, we ended up having to sit inside. I was AMAZED by the inside, as it was super spacious and had fabulous views out onto the Harbourfront/water/marina. I loved how it had the two levels. For an appetizer we enjoyed the pretzel buns with cheddar dip - fantastic. The chicken wrap was lacking a bit in terms of the chicken being cold and flavour somewhat drab. There was supposed to be avocado mayonnaise on it but I didn't see/taste the avocado. For someone who doesn't drink beer, I tend to prefer flavored beers. So the summer feature Radtler definitely hit the spot."

  • "It was nice to sit by the water - the sole reason we went there - but the food service and food were mediocre. The young staff are very friendly and work hard but the kitchen disappoints. We loved the beer samplings on the menu card and our server made excellent recommendations. Come here for Beer and the Lake side seats."

  • "Food was terrible. Won't be returning, it's a shame because the restaurant is gorgeous and the location is perfect."

  • "Great spot down by the water. Fourth time attending in the past three months and noticed a definite decline each time. Our table had the lobster rolls and chicken wrap. The lobster rolls were three tiny rolls filled with canned ????. Absolutely no taste. The chicken wrap also lacked flavour. Both meals were pre-made as they arrived at the table less than two minutes after being ordered. We will not return."

  • "There was glass in our food, the worst part was the management did not handle the situation in a proper manner. They actually still wanted to charge us for the food that had glass in it. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. RISKY TO LIFE TO EAT HERE"

  • "I found the staff to be immature and poorly trained. I specifically said one of our party was in a wheelchair and there was not a table waiting for us. We also told them when we arrived that one member would be late. When he arrived they would not let him in. He texted me at the table to come and get him. The security guard also asked him if he had been drinking, he is a man with a disability. The food was nothing special, over priced and the staff were all exceptionally immature. We will not return. Bernadette"

  • "So happy to have found this restaurant. My husband and I enjoy patio dining and this place exceeded out expectations. Dining by the water with the views of the airport and island were both scenic and relaxing. Food was delicious. We ordered the pizza and beef dip sandwich and both were brought to us without a long wait and very fresh. Drinks were also made to our liking. This was our second visit, the first time we sat inside with our 3 year old daughter who enjoyed her food and the waitress was very attentive to her needs. We will be returning again very soon!"

  • "Food was great. However it took 10 minutes until a server even spoke to us after we were sat. Wasn't too busy but brutal server. My wife doesn't want to return just because if the service."

  • "We were able to get a seat on the North patio with a view of the lake. Waiter was friendly, and very knowledgable about the beer selection. We shared the chicken lettuce wrap appetizer - a bit salty but still very tasty. I had the white pizza with brie and chicken - the crust could have been thinner and crisper but overall was delicious. Lemon mirangue pie in a jar is a must have"

  • "The reservation process is confusing for both staff and customers for large parties. My original reservation was for 10 people and a day or two later I called the restaurant to increase the size of my reservation. I was advised to email a particular person who handles parties of 10+. The response from the restaurant simply said the change could not be done. Upon arriving at the restaurant we were told more than 10 customers at one table must be one bill. We were later told that 10 and above qualified for a joint bill. Overall we were not pleased about the misinformation. The waitress was able to accomodate our separate bills however we were still charged the 18% gratuity. I would not suggest going back with a large table reservation."

  • "You have to visit this place for the food, the beer, and the view! Get a nice table on the patio and enjoy one of their new, "fruity" beers. We tried a peach beer, a banana beer, and a raspberry beer. All very unique and perfect for a summer night on the patio. The new menu is also outstanding with a wide variety of options. Highly recommended."

  • "I had to return my food. The swordfish was hard and would have needed a steak knife to cut though it. The wings were also very hard but the bbq sauce had a good taste. A food server came to our table 4 times with someone else's food. You would have thought he would have caught eventually. Maybe recommend for drinks to enjoy the view."

  • "Love the different beer selections and the food was delicious, especially the pretzel. Service was great and very timely. Would definitely recommend this place."

  • "I was glad we had a reservation as we avoided a very long line up. Hostess staff was great. We were seated promptly with a great view of the lake. Inspite of being very busy we were waited on in a quick and efficient manner and was pleasantly surprised that the food was really good!!"

  • "Excellent location, great food, wonderful beer selection, super atmosphere, great service, we had a really good time, can't wait to go back again to try the rest of the menu, and sample some more great craft beers."

  • "You can't beat the view and the amount of space on the patio which would have me coming back, but the service was horrible. I had heard from others that it was prior to going and the restaurant proved me right. It took 45 minutes to get my first drink and even longer to get the food, half of it arrived all cold. The other half arrived after we were done eating. Out of the 6 meals, 4 of them had to be sent back and we are not a picky group. The restaurant is new and there were a lot of trainees so I am assuming it's growing pains. But oh boy it was painful. The one server at our table was trying her very best, she was very attentive and trying to make up for all the issues that were happening. "

  • "Great view, vibrant buzz, and the beers were awesome. Service was courteous but a little slow with a packed house. Oh, and there there was the food - major letdown. Did I say major? Birthday event for 4 - Lemon Chicken was dry and swimming in liquid of some kind - but not lemon; Burgers - average and under cooked; deli sandwich served cold; espresso machine was broken that night. Caesar salad - have had better take out! Curiously, watched a number of servers going back to the kitchen with full plates! Standard practice? - or just a bad night in the kitchen? Don't know but sorry guys - we won't be back. Great beer not enough to endure the poor food quality. This could have been a stellar evening - but really disappointed. "

  • "Great pub food with a good selection of beer. If the weather is nice, I recommend the patio. "

  • "Slow service was heightened by the fact that they refused to put on a Game 7 NHL game. We were told "this is not a sports bar, we don't have to have that game on, I'm sorry there is nothing we can do." We were pretty shocked by this since you know, we live in Canada and it's the NHL playoffs. Service was pretty slow and the food was just fine. Wouldn't go back."

  • "The food was pretty good. We had Stuffed jalapeños for an app, which were just 3 small jalapeño halves for $12. I had the margherita pizza for $13, which was well priced. My only issue is that it should've been cooked for another 30 seconds in the wood oven. The beers were great and the service was decent."

  • "The food selection and beer selection were absolutely awesome."

  • "The experience was very good. The food and beverage was excellent, the ambiance and facilities were great. We only had one mix up in someones order and an issue with transferring the bar tab to our dinner table. We would also like to point out that our server appeared to be very busy and not available for long periods of time on a few occasions. Other than this is a pleasant experience and we would definitely recommend it and come again. "

  • "Since the restaurant opened almost one year ago, we have been to the restaurant about a dozen times. We keep returning for the good food, the excellent and diversity of the craft beers, and the indoor ambience during the winter months and the great patio during the summer. We have never been disappointed and plan on returning again."

  • "The area is Open and airy. It is solid roadhouse type food. The fish and chips were excellent, as we're the lettuce wrap appetizers."

  • "Over all an exceptional experience. We had several small children and were placed in an area that would not disrupt other patrons. the food was outstanding as was the service. Have been here several times and have found the food and servcie to be always very good."

  • "I can't say enough about how grateful I am that the Brewhouse accommodated me and my party after a reservation snafu. A gentleman there, I believe his name is Roger, ensured that we were taken care of with a smile and a handshake. The drinks were great, the service impeccable (had a wonderful waitress who said she was only there 2 days, she was fantastic!) and I couldn't have asked for a better night out for my birthday with all of my friends. Thank you Amsterdam Brewhouse for making my Birthday a night to remember!"

  • "We have been here a few times and found a consistency of poor service. Servers aren't well trained for busy and stressful nights, and staffing ratios seem low, as there are never enough servers to sections. Food quality is decent for the most part, nice focus of the beers brewed in house. "

  • "I made a reservation to ensure a short wait for dinner and to hopefully ensure the nice view that is supposed to be seen from the restaurant - instead we were sat in the back corner by the door entrance. Not what I was thinking for the evening. Service was alright, and food was alright. But there are many choices for after activity dinners in Toronto, especially if you don't get the waterfront view."

  • "Great beer and the food to match! Menus is not too big and not too small, with enough selection. Their beer flights awesome if you're not sure what you like. Service is hit or miss but usually ok... Have always found the hostesses a bit on the rude & inexperienced side though. Could use more training."

  • "Good beer, food is okay. It is pub food so about what I had expected. But for a drink or basic grub it is fine. Waterfront spot is nice which would make it packed in summer."

  • "always enjoyed Amsterdam - over 20 years -and fo0und this new Lake Ontario HarbourFront location adds real value. Open-ness, light, lakeside ambience and massive interior space just made it fun. Food good as always, brews consistently good and diverse choices recommended for the menu items. But the new space really adds value to the experience. Will be back even more often now."

  • "Absolutely amazing! The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious. The 'flight paths' for beers is fun, you can try up to 4 different beers in 5 oz glasses or stick with what you like in a 20 oz glass. Even on a cold day the view of the lake is beautiful. I would definitely go back and would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Decided to try something different before the Sting/Paul Simon concert on Saturday night. Glad we did - lots of tables without the crazy overcrowding and noise you get at other local pre-concert venues. Friendly service and reasonable prices made this very cool bar a must before our next concert - hopefully on the patio. The food was very good & I'd recommend a beer flight to try a few different locals."

  • "I go to a lot of shows at Harbourfront Centre's theatres and this resto is a WELCOME addition to a previous culinary wasteland. Also large enough for groups, the menu notes vegetarian and gluten free options. The beer-flights are fantastic!!"
