Diner Reviews
  • "The area and the atmosphere was perfect. The waiters kept serving us until we busted...lol Very romantic place. Only downfall is that my request for flowers and a private dining area went unnoticed. Instead I was seated in the corner of the main dining area with grapes and wine on my table....Not exactly what I asked for but nice nonetheless. Drinks were great. Hostess were excited for my proposal."

  • "We have been to Amor De Brazil many times previously and always enjoyed the exceptional food and service. We'd heard the restaurant was under new ownership but thought nothing much would have changed. We were wrong. The entire staff had changed. The quality of meats (the star of any rodizio) was inferior and poorly cooked and seasoned. We were offered many meats that were "well-done" which meant they were overcooked and chewy, and almost everything lacked salt. Our waitress was somewhat inattentive in refilling our water glasses though very pleasant as was the rest of the staff. They just all seemed to be out of their depth. Even the live music was cheesy. We may try one more visit to see if this was a fluke, but if not, we won't be back."

  • "The service was good, the food is excellent, my only problem was that the lady who took our wine order did not seem to understand what I wanted and brought red wine instead of the white wine I ordered, but I just went with the red"

  • "My wife and I went on a whim because we noticed that they were running a special on Sunday lunch for 19.99. Honestly, I thought there salad bar was better than Chima's. The meat was excellent, although there was less selection. I believe we had 8 or 9 to choose from. The sirloin was my favorite. The staff was well trained and very attentive to our needs."

  • "We entered the restaurant and no one greeted us. It looked like they were going to have a big party in one of the rooms the way the tables were set up. the hostess finally greets us. We tell her we have a reservation. She said they are backed up do to a party that didn't even start yet. She said if we wanted to eat would would have to wait an hour and told us to go to the bar. We could not believe it. We said, "but we have a reservation". She said, "sorry but some other patrons came in before you and they filled up the reservation section". What? We were upset since we have never eaten here and it was our date night. Some of the meats were wonderful while others were over cooked. On a good note, our waiter was very nice."

  • "...meat, and more meat!. Overall very good and a fun experience. Louder than we expected and combined with the thick Brazilian accent of the waiter it was difficult to hear and understand him. Otherwise very good and will return."

  • "Amor de Brazil was recommended to me by some friends, so we decided to give it a try. Definitely worth the money! I loved the fact that there was an option to only select the salad bar, because that itself was enough for some in the party. The service was great and so accommodating; on two separate occasions, our waitress and the guys walking around with the meat brought us things that we specifically requested. Will definitely be going back soon!"

  • "I made reservations here for my sister's birthday. I felt really bad afterwards. It was crowded and loud. the service was horrible. we were trying to stay away from downtown because of the CIAA madness but in retrospect we should have dealt with that and gone to Chima. The atmosphere was harsh and they totally ignored the fact that it was her birthday although I told them in advance."

  • "Amor de Brazil offers everything you expect from an American churrascaria. Good wine, ample salad bar, wide selection of meats. If it is slow, you may have to ask for the Picanha by name (the house meat, the best cut in most people's opinion). The fried bananas are great. They have something I've never seen before: roasted pineapple with cinnamon (on a stick, of course). I didn't have occasion to try it, but it looked very good."

  • "It was pretty good overall. The only complaint I have is that we had reservations at 7:45 and did not get seated until after 9. We drove over an hour to try this place. We normally eat at the Brazilian steakhouse in uptown."

  • "Frequent this place a lot. Not as good today as it usually is. Not bad, but not up to par with their usual service and selection. Buffet selection had half the cheeses and meats it usually has. No cheese breads or fried bananas were provided to our table. We were told that the person who makes them wasn't in that day."

  • "We brought another couple with us for Valentines that had never been here before. They loved it and said they would be back with their family for the food at such a great price. Service was very good."

  • ". We went Saturday and had 6:45 p.m. reservations . When we arrived at 6:40 we were told our table would be ready in 5 minutes. We saw the table was being wiped down. We were asked to stand by the bar area. At 7:05 we had to finally say something as the tables had already been cleared but no one was setting the tabel. I am very disappointed that with an open table reservation we had to wait 20 minutes. A first for us. The service was very slow but overall the food was good and I would say definitely a place to try. Just be prepared. We finally left the restaurant at 9:30. Withe 3 year olds was a bit tough."

  • "Went here for Valentine's weekend. Food was decent, but not outstanding. The salad bar was good and had a decent selection. The meats were limited for a Brazilian steakhouse. The service is not that good. If you make a reservation, there is still a very good chance you'll have to wait for a table for 15-20 minutes. The hostess is lost. There is little room for waiting and people are stuffed in a small area to wait. Poor design. This is a common complaint for this place and they need to fix it."

  • "This place has the potential to be a great restaurant for the area. There isn't much to compete with in the general area and it's competitively priced for a rodizio. The management allowed it to get over booked for Valentine's Day which stressed the staff and irritated the guests that had to wait 30-45 minutes past their reservation time to be seated. The meats were par. The salad bar above average. The bartender was super nice and able to keep up with the whole restaurant and a full bar of waiting guests."

  • "We were supposed to go to Chima but missed our reservation and luckily got in here. There was a line at the door when we got there we were early and got seated on time. Service was a little slow at first but picked up and was fast paced from then on. The food was awesome. A lot of flavor with the meats and the salad bar has a pretty good variety of meats and sides. I didn't think I would be happy not going to Chima but honestly I'm very pleased I made it to Amor De Brazil and would recommend it to any rodizio lover."

  • "The food was pretty good. Not the best Brazilian Steakhouse I've been to but not bad. I went on Valentines Day and it was pretty crowded which made them a little disorganized with things. We had to keep ordering our drinks because our waiter was too busy to remember."

  • "Food great, ambience great,my only issue (I understand that I believe they were short staffed) was the service. They were all very nice however we had to make eye contact with them to get service."

  • "We had been there before and did get a good service and food, but this time we did have a very bad service experience, the server approach our table 2 times on his own and then we had to call him every time we need something or if we need our plates to be removed he will said ok and then walk away and come back after a while. We noticed that there were a couple of tables that experienced the same issue as we did. One of them waited for almost 30 minutes for their bottle of wine as they told us."

  • "A good Brazilian restaurant. Wonderfully seasoned meats with great variety. A good selection of salads and veggies. Attentive waiters always asking if we needed anything else. The only complaint, was when we requested a specific meat we didn't always get it. It was almost as if they forgot to send it to us. I would definitely go back. Be very hungry when you go. Though the price is more reasonable than other Brazilian skeak houses it is still pricy if you don't eat large quantities."

  • "Attentive staff. Food bar is high quality and not full of the "run of the mill" items...it actually has some very unique items. A good variety of cheeses, meats, salads, seafood. The salmon is very good...and that's just the beginning of the experience. The meat on the skewers is unbelievable! Bacon wrapped filet that melts in your mouth, leg of lamb that is outstanding, and the parmesan pork is off the charts. Be sure to ask for some of the native drinks of Brazil, they have alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, that truly makes it a Brazilian evening."

  • "We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated and quickly forgotten. We waited about 25 minutes for our server thotake our drink order. What appeared to be the manager began yelling at the hostess while they were still in the serving area. Not a great atmosphere, the tables were very close together and it was difficult to relax."

  • "My family went to Amor de Brazil last night. The salad bar was good and the service team worked hard. The flow of meats was inconsistent. The pork and lamb did not come out for about an hour. The garlic meats were overdone. The beef meat and suasage quality did not meet expectations. The setting needs improvement. Tables are too close. I hope the restaurant improves but we are coming back until then."

  • "Great food. Easy parking. Better than going downtown charlotte where there is limited parking. The only problem with service was waiting on the credit card receipt. Everything else was great!"

  • "Food was great and they offered a lot of variety on the salad/food bar. We couldn't eat all they brought. Don't waste space on the salad until you try some of the meats. The chicken wrapped in bacon and the lamb had the best flavor. The end cuts were the best. The hostess working that night gets a fail. She couldn't find us at the bar where she told us to wait. It's not that big of a place and we were the only couple sitting at the bar. Reservations for 6:45, seated at 7:15 with plenty of tables available and 15 or so going ahead of us. The server tried to make it right by taking care of the beverage we purchased while waiting."

  • "The service was very great. Although the restaurant has many dinners it was still a great atmosphere and the noise level was awesome. The meat choices were great and the salad bar is to die for."

  • "My wife and I for Restaurant Week in Charlotte. The food was great, if you like to try different kinds of meat. A lot to choose from at the salad bar"

  • "At first, we were impressed. The restaurant was clean and the Buffett was enormous! All the staff was very polite! However, we were only offered 4 of the meat choices, one was offered twice. We watched more than one of the staff pass our table, and serve the larger groups. We were very excited to try this restaurant, as my husband has experienced another Brazilian steakhouse before. Unfortunately, we will not be back."

  • "We had a reservation that was over looked. We were scheduled for 7:30 arrived went to bat to wait a table meet another couple who was set for 7:45. At 8:15 the hostess came to get the other couple we asked about our reservation was told we would be next. However the other couple insisted we take their table instead."

  • "My family of 8 went there and were severely disappointed. Had I not had reservations, I would have turned around and left the moment we walked in the door. The inside lacked ambiance and reminded me of a golden corral type setup. We had reservations at 6 and despite having multiple tables open, we were told to wait at the bar where they proceeded to forget we were there. Another issue was the waiting for more food. It took too long to wait for food.. some meat came put every 5 mins and meanwhile you already ate a piece and were stuck hungry and waiting. The other brazillian steakhouses bring so much food, you have to turn them away.. not here. Do NOT go here if expected a nice restaurant with nice ambiance. Do NOT go here for date night."

  • "The food was good service was fragmented. Drinks soso bartenders working. Not acknowledging new customers or interacting with them. No lobby and drafty in main dining area when the doors open. No plaintains and didn't come around quickly with cuts if meat or explain what each was until you asked what it was. Slow or non existent customary sides rolls not warm. But it was busy. So still think it's a nice spot for a nice cozy meal when they are not busting."

  • "The restaurant was very tight and cannot move around. The tables were too close together. Some meat was dry, the waiter barely came to our table. The meat servers barely came to our table. Only two desserts."

  • "The salad bar was the best part of the experience as it had salmon and smoked salmon that were very good. The flank steak and sausage were terrible. The other meats were decent but not memorable. This is definitely not the place to take your wife for Valentines Day. It would be ok to for a place to take your buddies for a lot of food."

  • "This was the first visit to Amor De Brazil and we were very pleased, The Salad and hot bar is excellent and very fresh. The variety of meat is great and they were all very good except the Parmesan pork which we felt was a little overcooked and dry. The service was excellent. We will return."

  • "We originally were going to try Chima but opted for Amor instead. The food was fair and the waiter was nice. It's not something we'd do again, restaurant week or not. The website states there is a business casual dress code, however you can wear pretty much wear whatever you'd like. Wasn't what we were expecting..."

  • "Not your average restaurant, if you want to try new , different, good food, this is the place you need to visit."

  • "this is not the place for restaurant week. The her waiter we had after drinks we didn't see her again until she asked how we would like our checks rung up. There was another waiter walking around with a short shirt on and wasn't answering anyone when they were asking for help. The manager when we walked in was not friendly and. The place got packed but I was looking at the staff they act like they were not pleased that people where there. I will not be returning."
