My guest and I both made the assumption that it came with our meal and thought it would be a disservice to mention no naan (as my guest does not eat bread and I wouldn't have ordered either). We pleasantly nodded and said we'll make due. Waiter said great and brought us our food.
Soon to find out on the check later: there was an extra charge for both. For the staff - PLEASE MENTION TO YOUR GUESTS OF THE EXTRA CHARGE AND DO NOT OFFER UNLESS YOU MAKE CLEAR THAT THERE WILL BE AN EXTRA CHARGE! We were both slightly turned aback when looking at the extra $8 added to our check and even mentioned. Waiter's response: "I have never been to an Indian restaurant that included it." We had the tasting menu and since we both don't eat sea food they've replaced some of the dishes for us. The only downer was that it was very expensive. Their wine list is expensive. Some would say yes. It's certainly one of the top 2 in my book, and without question the best for traditional dishes. We were wondering what time in the morning the chefs come in... The restaurant week menu was fabulous, with many choices. We loved the fish dishes, but the chicken could not have been better as well. And the 4 courses (unusual for restaurant week - almost everyplace else does 3) gave you a wonderful assortment of tastes.
