I chose this pub specifically on a mate's recommendation that it was a great place to watch NFL games. It didn't disappoint. We were upstairs where a mahoosive screen at each end showed local favourites the Jets - unless you're Giants of course. On other, slightly less large, screens arranged around the bar all the other live games were showing. Football overload was the biggest problem as it was hard to know which screen to watch. The service was also excellent. The girl serving us was very attentive, friendly and warm. We got the bucket of chicken. Delicious. We maybe should have heeded the waitress' warning it was a lot of food for two. Gave it our best shot, though.

I came in with a group of 6 friends last Thursday. I had never been to Amity Hall, nor had I heard of it, although I've lived at Hayden and Goddard Hall at NYU, just blocks away. We had " 29 Samantha" as our server, and she was excellent, always attentive and helpful when we were trying to order and figure out what beers we would like. For what is usually a nagging group, all of my friends were very satisfied with everything from the accommodations to the food. We tend of have get-togethers and larger reunions every month or so, and I will definitely try to bring everyone back here.

Reservation for 10, happy that they were able to accommodate such a large group of guests (or so I thought). We were seated in the bar area, which wouldn't have been bad had we all actually fit in the group of tables held for us. It was an awkwardly arranged corner table with another small table that could probably only fit 7 comfortably for dinner. Considering the size of their board/plates you would think they would know how to seat a table. Conversation was impossible due to the extremely loud bad music. Burgers were just okay, fries and fish (of fish and chips) looked like they were cooked in 5 day old oil. Mac was good and by the empty bowls can assume was the most enjoyed dish.

Great takes on classics like burgers and chicken wings. Pricey for what seemed to essentially be a college bar. Service was friendly but not supportive of $35 per head for burgers and pizza and only 4 beers on the tab. That being said, amazing beer list and a place I would think would be good to bring out-of-town visitors for a slightly upgraded pub scene.

I went to New York City for a concert this past summer and went to Amity Hall with my brother who I had not seen in a long time. We were one of the only people in the whole restaurant/bar so we had the chance to catch up in quiet, which was nice. The bar probably livens up more at night time since it's in the middle of the largest city in the United States, but the food was good, the atmosphere was nice, and it was a nice spot to relax.

This was our first time at Amity Hall, and we'll definitely be back soon. The brunch menu is limited, but covers enough tastes to offer variety and excitement. We had no trouble being seated (with reservation) upon arrival, and the Bloody Mary bar was enough to inspire a return trip. Serving sizes were huge, food came out quickly but well-prepared, and the crowd wasn't overbearing or obnoxious. So glad we stumbled upon this spot — you can't go wrong with $14 unlimited Mimosas or Bloody Marys + cost of entreé!

I took some out-of-town friends here in a search to find the best bloody mary in town. I haven't had much luck since I moved here in September 2012. My goodness, this Bloody Mary bar is amazing! Their house mix is excellent, and they offer three other mixes as well. Tons of items to add in (carrots, celery, pickled okra, horseradish, bacon, beef jerky, string cheese, etc, etc) and it was pretty inexpensive. Got the breakfast pizza - amazing.

I went with four friends to this restaurant for brunch after finding it was highly reviewed. For a Saturday brunch, they were incredibly short staffed. There was one waitress, who was not particularly expedient, for five tables. The manager was quite nice, but he did not assist in expediting any orders for our table. Once we sat down, it easily took twenty minutes to get the waitress to take our orders. However, once we did the food was great and the Bloody Mary bar was fantastic. I would go back--once more--and if the service improved, I would continue going. If not, the greatness of the food does not outweigh the poor service.

i made reservation for amity hall, when we got there they said they did not have our reservation, but could seat us. They sat us in very small high top table, for dinner i thought this was annoying so we asked to switch to a booth or lower table. they sat us at another table up stairs and no wait staff came to serve us. then the hostess came over and said we couldn't sit there because it was reserved and would have to sit at the high top table downstairs. i was pretty aggrivated and we were on a time schedule so, we left and went up the block to the half pint, a great restaurant, that sat us right away. great food, and great service.

The food was excellent! I have never had better pub fare, and the "gastro-pub" designation is well deserved. The truffle fries were excellent, not too soft/ crisp, and the burgers are mouth watering. The service was a bit slow- we were the only table in the restaurant at this time, and the food and check took forever as our waitress was clearly involved in a conversation a the bar. This aside, I would definitely go back.

I took my parents to Amity Hall for Brunch on Easter Sunday. Most Sundays this place is very busy but we were the only ones there. The food is really great, especially for a pub environment. Skip the pastries on the menu as the scones tasted like they had been in the fridge to long and the beignets are sweet, flat, almost cracker like with powder sugar on top. A far cry from the original puffed up New Orleans classic. Don't miss the breakfast pizza, a almost focaccia like bread with ricotta, bacon, arugula and a fried egg on top, or the garden omelette filled with vibrant veggies. Also don't miss the candied bacon with maple syrup and black pepper (best bacon I have ever had!) or the DYI bloody mary bar with so many limitless options!

They run several promotions during the week i.e. free beer with any burger, trivia night, etc. makes for a good happy hour. They offer a great selection on the catering menu and when I was there on the weekend the DJ was awesome! Good mix of Top 40 (today’s hits), 90's and 80's music - he got a good mix going between the crowd, definitely good energy for those who wanted to groove a little and for those enjoying their meal/ drinks.

This is a bar...maybe it has good food. We didn't stay long enough to find out. The description on open table is incredibly misleading. We weren't looking for a quiet intimate dinner or anything, but what we found was blasting music and screaming girls taking shots. Not that we don't like that too. Just don't be mislead by the OpenTable description into thinking this place is anything more than a bar.
