Diner Reviews
  • "The food was delicious but we were disappointed when we ordered coffee. The waitress informed us that there will be "no coffee or dessert this evening !" Then why did she ask us if there would be "anything else?" What difference does it make if we all were going to the concert? We had plenty of time to relax and still make the show. There were 2 gentlemen waiting after us and got the better seats. I don't appreciate being seated near the bathroom. Although the food was great I will not recommend this restaurant."

  • "Made reservations for 90 minutes before the Bruins game. After 45 minutes and no food, asked multiple servers to check on our order, kept being told it would be "just a minute", or "almost up". Finally, I think it was the owner, came over and said the chef burned his arm terribly and the food would be up in a minute. I told them we were rushing for the Bruins game. After waiting 75 minutes and 15 minutes before gametime, we just walked out. If they had told us upfront how long it would be, then we could have decided to wait, or leave. Instead, they kept us hanging on waiting one more minute, and as a result we got no food, and were late for the game. I am sorry about the chef, and hope he is okay, but an awful experience for us."

  • "I came here with 6 others for a bachelorette party celebration. The waitresses were so kind and acted very excited for the bride! The owners also came and spoke to the bride and set a great tone for the evening. Thanks Amici!"

  • "We picked this restaurant because it had to accomodate a gluten free person in our party. The homemade gluten free pasta was excellent. The entree was rotini with shrimp, rotini and rabi in aioli. It was delicious. One of the others in our party got the veal layered with prociutto, fontina cheese, mozzarella, artichokes, mushrooms in the sherry wine sauce. She couldn't even finish it, the portion was so large. The waite staff was very attentive. All in all it was a great pick. Definitely would go back again."

  • "This restaurant is close to the TD Garden if you are going to an event there. The service was great and the food was good. They were prompt and we were out in plenty of time to make the game. They seem organized and committed to providing their customer with a good meal. I would eat here again and recommend to friends. The atmosphere is pretty casual."

  • "First time diners before a concert at the Garden. Food and service were top notch."

  • "First time visit for us. Chose it because it had pretty good reviews and it was walking distance to the garden. Four of us ordered meals and we were happy with our choices. The chicken marsala, chicken parm and veal parm were all tasty. While I would not go out of my way to go again, next time I go to the garden it WILL be on my list of choices. We all drank beer (short list) so I cannot speak to wine lovers."

  • "We chose this as spot to meet before a Celtics game. The staff was super nice and always available. They handed us a menu and a separate one for specials. The 'special' menu had Home made meatballs... We ordered some but were told the chef decided not to make them....he didn't have time.. Our party had four people and none of us were happy with the food.. It tasted pre-cooked...by days! Nothing tasted fresh, which explained the extremely quick turn over. We ordered the meals and minutes later it arrived. So, with that said, the waitresses were really nice and always there to help. It seemed like we had three waitresses, not one assigned to us. I wish this restaurant's food met the quality of service..."

  • "Was seated in the area near the door, very cozy. Our server lost a little interest once he realized we weren't going to drink (we were with a good friend that doesn't drink because of religious purposes.) Entrees were pretty good, service was attentive. I'd go back, but not with a large group. It's an intimate setting."

  • "We went on Valentine's Day, when it was obviously very full, and had such horrible luck with transportation that we ended up extremely late for our reservation. We tried to call but their phones go straight to voicemail, although it could have just been for the holiday. Although we were certain they wouldn't serve us, they were so sweet and accommodating that they found a table for us within fifteen minutes and treated us no differently than the other customers. They were a wonderful group of women who were so friendly and funny. The food was also amazing to top off a great holiday."

  • "Sat next to the owners of the restaurant, on a quiet valentines date, but they were being so loud it disturbed everyone around. Food was not up to par with the restaurants in the north end."

  • "I made an 8:00pm reservation, showed up at 8:10pm due to traffic, and was asked to wait for about 15 minutes before being seated. Make of that what you will. This restaurant is quite small. The food took about 45 minutes to arrive at the table. The staff is on the plain side, but they refilled our bread which I always appreciate. I had a glass of the cabernet sauvignon, which was excellent The lobster ravioli was a 7.5/10. The portion was generous and the lumps of lobster on top were a nice touch. My date had the chicken parm. I would give that an 8/10, and I am not a big chicken parm guy. The sauce was sweet and the chicken was flattened nicely. Overall we had a pleasant experience, but would not go out of our way to return."

  • "Short walk to the Garden. Lots of interesting choices and excellent service to get us out in time the Cesar salad and bow tie pasta with peas in cream sauce were excellent. Would go again if in the area. Pinot noir by the glass was excellent according to my husband."

  • "We had an okay time at the restaurant. They seated us near two women who were very loud and ruined the nice atmosphere for my daughter and I. They seated us next to each other even though we were the only two dinners in the restaurant. Next time, I'll definitely say something. The food was good but pretty expenses. It cost $107 for two for a dinner before Beyoncé. We had three drinks. I thought it was a more expensive than I expected."

  • "This was my first experience dining in the North End of Boston. I took my date here before a Boston Bruins game at the TD Banknorth Garden. Being a frequent traveler to the Federal Hil section of Providence for authentic italian dining, I will say that Amici topped all of the italian classics in Federal Hill. The food was simply superb with a very impressive wine list. The atmosphere was perfect for a quiet dinner for two with your special loved one. Would certainly recommend dining in the basement level for an even better romantic occassion. Will definately frequent again."

  • "Dined with my 14yr old daughter before an event at the TD Banknorth Garden. Food was excellent with friendly service. Only problem was it was a tight space upstairs and our table was next to a door. Would recommend to others looking for a nice meal in the North End."

  • "Location close to TD Garden makes it a favorite sop on game night. Others think so too. My wife always gets the Grand Marnier Shrimp appetizer. i surf the menu. It's great food and a very comfortable place to eat pre-game. Friendly staff and owners."

  • "There were four of us and each of us had a lovely dinner. The food was delicious the waitress we had was very nice (another one was a bit cranky) and she was always checking in with us."

  • "We chose this restaurant as a nice dinner before going to a Celtics game. We booked a reservation because we thought it would be busy. Throughout the entire dinner on a Friday night, we were one of two tables eating dnner, and a third table was just having drinks. Our food ranged from the veal dish which was excellent, to a rubbery chicken dish. The lights were bright and the ambiance horrible. Our server was very pleasant, and she poured a generous glass of wine. We were wondering whether the downstairs might have been a nicer atmosphere, but we chose not to check it out because we won't return."

  • "Real dining (as opposed to pub fare) close to TD Garden great pre game, pre event location. Parking right across the street at Pinstripe Parking. The food and service were very good. "Traditional" North End fare very goodselection and excellent preparation. The mussel appetizer was outstanding with a great sauce. The linguine with clams was also excellent as was the veal marsala. Its small with an upstairs and downstairs dining room. Service was personable, the family is on site and on the job which makes it even more special. This will be my go to spot when heading to the Garden."

  • "Had a table upstairs not much room looking into the kitchen. Not sure if down stairs is nicer but would try that if we returned."

  • "Good food but waited 45 minutes for simple pasta dishes. I had a direct view of kitchen and the cook waited 35 minutes before even starting the order. It was ridiculous. The waitresses seemed to know that our food was very late as she avoided me like the plague."

  • "Party of four we were seated promptly. We ordered a couple of appetizers and shared ..... Eggplant Rollatine and Brocolli Fritti both were delicious then on to a very nice ceasar salad which was lightly dressed - entrees were all fabulous Shrimp Grand Marniere was just incredible, others ordered Chicken, ziti & brocolli with roasted garlic and oil just perfect not oily !! Chicken Parmagiano was fantastic. ..Timing in between courses was nice you got that bit of time that allows you to truly enjoy your dinner. They were busy and we look forward to returning; thank you for a wonderful dining experience! Reservation was for 6:30.......concert was 8 P.M...we had time to leisurely walk to the Garden...could not have asked for for anything more!!"

  • "The food was excellent, and the portions were good. My party of four really liked the Ambience, and would eat at Amici's again. I would stay away from the wedge salad next time though. The price was not listed on the "Specials" menu and I know why. $12 for a 1/4 of head of lettuce, 4 slices of tomatoes and blue cheese dressing. I did not see that one coming. I had sticker shock when I saw $36 for 3 salads. (my 4th guest didn't order the salad). How much is a head of lettuce? Not even close to $48. Note to self: When there is no price on the menu item, ask!"

  • "Had a party of 12 to host in the city for the day. Amici had not only our big group, but also another 14-member group and did not have a problem hosting at all. Great service from the moment we came in. The homemade sangria was a stand out in the drink department. The food was all good, but the to-die-for dish was one of their specials that night: shrimp and scallop fettucine (home-made pasta) in a garlic cream sauce...ummm it was crazy good. Bravissimo!"

  • "Although there were only 3 other parties in Amici, it was an awesome find with awesome food. So great that I even cancelled my reservation for a group of 8 at another Italian restaurant in the North End and made a reservation here!"

  • "The food was very good HOWEVER the staff ruined our experience. Long waits for the food while the staff stood in the kitchen and ate. Even with a crowd a good restaurant should care if customers are happy."

  • "Great restaurant! We had reservations, walked right in and were seated right away. The food was delightful and we had two server's who were attentive to our needs. We went the night of a concert we were attending and had no problems. I am still dreaming of the pasta I had. This was our first visit and we will be back!"
