Diner Reviews
  • "I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. I guess I was not expecting to be wowed because the restaurant is old, but it was so warm and classic. Our food was good. Not one item we ordered was overcooked or lacking flavor. My entree contained fresh tasting pasta and big portions of shrimp and lobster. I brought a date with me and she said her meal was fantastic. Our server knew the menu well and was very good at anticipating our needs. They get an A+."

  • "My wife and I came here for our anniversary and we received some very special treatment. We were given 2 glasses of complimentary champagne and complimentary dessert. It is so thoughtful when a restaurant acknowledges these types of things. Thank you. We will be back."

  • "Love the menu! I ordered the linguini with lobster and it was to die for! Definitely recommend. More on Italian American side but I could still taste some authenticity. Lots of wine choices, great atmosphere and great waitstaff."

  • "Both times I have been there it was not crowded at all, but my goodness is it delicious. The first time I had the veal scalloppini, which was good. The second time I had the penne nina, which was DELICIOUS!! The bread is very good, tiramisu is also good. The server we had was delightful and I would love to have him again if I can recognize him when we go back."

  • "Reliable spot when we can't decide where to go. Never had a bad meal. Service is top notch. Staff will get to know you after a few meals. They even started serving a wine I prefer after I asked if they could order it for me. Parking is plentiful and you do not have to walk far at all."

  • "Went for our wedding anniversary dinner. Hostess who showed us to our table wasn't very welcoming. Our table had rose petals on it in recognition of our special occasion. It took a bit before we were greeted by our waiter, but after that he was attentive without being overbearing. Not offered a wine list. Appetizer of calamari - it could have been a bit more crispy but that is just a personal preference. Salad was barely dressed, in my opinion - could barely taste the dressing. Both my husband's and my main courses were terrific. We declined dessert. Were offered complimentary champagne for our anniversary. We have been to Amerigo's many times - it is our favorite spot for special occasions. And we will definitely return again."

  • "This place is excellent. Every time I go I try something new off the menu and it has all been delicious. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food you are getting and the decor and atmosphere is perfect for dining with friends, corporate outings or something romantic. I highly recommend trying it!"

  • "Dinner 06/28/2014. We ordered a grilled Portobello, Caesar salad, Pear salad, Red Snapper, a Filet and creamed spinach. Taste of the food was superb. Malbec (Luigi Bosca 2011) was quite good. Excellent portion sizes, with prices what we expected for a fine dining venue. The waiter was very attentive and asked several times if all was OK. But we really felt pushed to finish quickly. The restaurant wasn't busy at 7PM; no one waiting to be seated, and several empty tables. We had little chance to savor one course before the next one arrived. They added a nice touch to the amaretto cheese cake dessert given we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. They used dark chocolate syrup to spell out “Happy Anniversary” on the plate."

  • "This is a lovely spot with linen tablecloths, professional servers and well-prepared Italian cuisine. Not the most exciting (i.e., cutting edge) menu, but very reliable. It is near The Woodlands Conference Center and away from the Market Street crowds."

  • "I read some great things about Amerigo's, so we wanted to try it, but didn't have a reservation. It was pretty early, around 6pm, so we thought we'd just give it a try! We sat at the bar & couldn't have been happier. Calamari was great for an appetizer and I had a lovely kale salad. My husband had the seafood pasta and he loved it! The best was the apricot roll! Amazingly delicious! A definite home run!"

  • "Our waiter was absolutely hilarious and perfectly fit for the job. He kept a us laughing, complimented us as a couple and stayed on top of all his tables. I definitely expected the food to taste better for paying as much as we did... I must say, I was a bit disappointed and walked away with a $150 tab! Unfortunately, our pallets have been impressed much more at that price elsewhere. The wine list was definitely impressive, but I stuck to glasses as many if the wine bottles exceeded $200-$300 in price! "

  • "This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants we have eaten at in The Woodlands. I had the filet which was cooked to perfection and my partner had the Veal. Wow - probably one of the biggest entrees we have seen served in a restaurant. The food menu has a lot of choice and the wine menu was excellent. Service was excellent, the staff were very attentive without being overly keen. The atmosphere was great. We will bring friends next time."
