  • Best Restaurant in Nashville!!
    OpenTable Diner Since 2014
    Dined on 11/22/2014
I hope it stays that way because the food was superb. It is so refreshing to dine out and not be disappointed, which has often been the case in Nashville for us. The cedar plank salmon was requested well done, which usually results in being dried out in most restaurants. It was so tender, juicy and moist it melted in my mouth. Great chefs, great service and less noisy than most restaurants. We noticed they even put baffles up for noise reduction!

  • A staple on West End
    OpenTable Diner Since 2014
    Dined on 11/22/2014
Amerigo gets it right. Old standards such as chicken piccata and chicken marsala are excellently prepared with fine ingredients. Service was outstanding and pacing was just right. We didn't get the name of the waiter or I'd give him a shout out, but the waiter as your new best friend is so tiresome. He was professional, prompt, and appropriately attentive without hovering. Amerigo isn't new, and it isn't trendy (as far as I know), but it is tasty and smooth running.

I've been going here often for quite a while and love it. But for the first time ever, the Veal Piccata was absolutely tasteless. The sauce was a bland white sauce; it had the requisite capers, but absolutely no evidence of either lemon, white wine, or chicken stock in the flavor. This is a dish I make myself and order at almost every Italian restaurant. What a disappointment!.

I think southern cooking should avoid all ethnic variations. I know I'm a food ann but this is rediculous - it's not that hard to make very good Italian food and Amerigo certainly did not have that. In the future I'll stick to steakhouses and southern comfort food.

Decided to try the brunch offering while my son was in town since both of us love Amerigo's. The crab cakes Benedict was perfect and the asparagus was cooked perfectly with a little hint of the grill. The grits were the best I've ever had! I'll certainly be enjoying the brunch in the future as much as I have enjoyed lunch and dinner in the past. Amerigo never disappoint a!

While in Nashville for a conference, my husband assigned me the task of finding a nice restaurant for dining with some friends and colleagues. Amerigos -West End was within walking distance from our hotel and the menu looked amazing...lots of selections and an extensive wine list. It was certainly a wise choice because everything was exceptional! We had a great dining experience.

We reserved a table at Amerigo's on a recent Friday night and entertained friends from out of town. Everything was perfect! The atmosphere was bustling, upbeat and cozy. Our server was extremely professional and helpful. My grilled salmon was amazing. The whole experience was an overall improvement from the Amerigo's of years past. The menu is better and the service is smoother. We will return!

Service was pretty good. I had a Ribeye. It was not a good cut. More fatty than even a Ribeye should be. The Asiago potatoes were very dry. My wife had chicken and pasta that was much better than my steak. I suppose if you are at an Italian theme restaurant, you should order Italian. There were tiny fruit flies landing on us, and the table. Not very good for ambiance. It was "okay" overall, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

When visitors come to town, this is where they--and I--always want to go. We've never been disappointed, never had a bad meal and always enjoy ourselves tremendously when we eat here. We all have our special favorites among the menu choices, but also like to try something new. I'm especially fond of the local farm-sourced menu, as are some of my guests. Also like the "new" menu arrangement, with everything available to look at (gluten-free, local farm, early-bird choices) in one place.

Between the four of us, we had trout, salmon, scallops, and a pasta dish. The food was prepared just like we asked and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The noise level was a little loud because of several large parties, but we could still hear each other talk!

There was so much noise in the room with dishes clanking and people talking over the noise that the whole time was so loud that no conversation could be conducted. I did not feel like screaming at my lunch partners. The food was great tasting and the portions were large. The service was also very good. I made a reservation for lunch and I am glad that I did as the place was packed. My special requests for the table were met and I was very grateful for that.

They have an excellent menu - and they can prepare it well. Interesting wine menu. Prices are very correct. Probably best restaurant in the neighborhood. Fast service. Quality is quite constant. Sometimes they hit the sweet spot (e.g. their salmon on cedarwood and the Thursday special), but sometimes they miss the mark completely (e.g. tiramisu? (just cake with khuala), veal marsala (no marsala (?), just red sauce), undercooked veggies, use of canned instead of fresh fruit).

Bread was delicious (probably brought in, but I really dont know that). Cheesecake for dessert was also delicious, but do know for a fact that it's made at a bakery and delivered. Eggplant parmagiana left a lot to be desired. Sauce too salty, eggplant slices were way too thin, so that you only tasted salty tomato sauce and breading. Wouldn't go back.

Our server was perfect. She anticipated our needs without constant checking. The bread and olive oil with spices served while we awaited our dinner was unique and heavenly. The tomatoes mozzarella salad was really delectable and a larger than expected serving.
