Lovely dinner was had by all. The wine was delicious and the food perfectly cooked. We had a nice table (after I rejected the first table we were shown to) where we could talk and hear each other. Just a lovely place to go.

We eat at Amerigos in Memphis, Tn. often. We were surprised that there were different items on the menu. Very busy Saturday night but the staff handled the crowd with ease. If you go try the locally sourced Lucy's Cheesecake with Blackberry Sauce.

  • Trout for dinner

I had the trout. It was pan seared to perfection and the portion was generous. It came with mushroom risotto and I had green bean casserole. The green bean casserole wasn't to my liking, but everything else was scrumptious. The waiter was attentive without badgering us every time he went by. Reservations are definitely necessary!

In from CA and made reservations here based on yelp reviews. The food was excellent and the atmosphere warm. Three generations dining and all loved their meals! Waiter was a bit aloof and the only negative of the experience....he made an offensive remark about us being from CA - not a way to welcome patrons. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Based on reviews and word of mouth, we tried this place for a special occasion dinner. While it was quiet and the service was attentive, the food was just okay, and that is what a restaurant should really be focused on first and foremost. I tried the cedar plank pork chop on the recommendation of the server. The chop itself was bone-in and a little under-cooked. The veggies and potatoes served with it were much better than the chop. My dining partner tried the three cheese tortellini with crab. It was very over salted, literally conglomerated salt cubes had formed. This made for a very disappointing dish. They made up for the entrees with a free pecan butter crunch cake, which was good. And the appetizer cheese fritters to begin were okay.

We arrived early for our 6:30 reservation but told them we did not mind waiting. They looked around at an almost empty dining room and said as soon as we clean a table we can seat you in the bar....well ok....not what we expected but so be it! There was some older guy hitting up big time on some younger ladies and he was quite loud! However, the food and drink were delicious and our waiter, Will, did a good job! We will definitely go back when we are in town but will ask for a regular table!

This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The food and service are consistently great and the value can't be beat. We had the summer gazpacho soup and the grilled peach salad. Both were outstanding. The salmon entrees were cooked to perfection. We love the cozy, clubby atmosphere with the dark wood and comfy booths. Service is always friendly -- we've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Cocktails are wonderful, too!

We went for brunch on Sunday morning. We arrived right at open, so it was pretty empty, but had filled up by the time we left. Our waiter was great--he always came and went at the right times. We never waited for drinks, but he didn't hover. The food was outstanding. I had the pork hash, my mother had the crab cakes Benedict, and my husband had the omelette of the day. All were delicious, but I personally recommend the crab cakes Benedict. All in all, it was a great restaurant experience.

We were planning an evening at the theater in Franklin and wanted a nice place to go for dinner. We quickly made our Open Table reservation for Amerigos in Cool Springs and were treated so well. When we got there, we were seated immediately, told the Specials of the evening, and promptly served bread and oil along with our drink. As we made our decision quickly, our order was also served quickly and it was hot and delicious. We had plenty of time to enjoy our dinner and be off to our show on time. Thank you for making this all happen so smoothly.

Having eaten lunch at Amerigo twice recently, I see it as a reliable business lunch option. Big tables give good room for quiet conversation. The lunch menu offers a lot of variety at fair prices. I have found the pasta dishes to be bland and lack the flavor I want so tried the salmon last visit and was pleased. My friend liked the spaghetti and meatball lunch option. The focaccia tastes fairly good when they bring it out yet it gets hard as a rock in no time. I wish they'd swap it for another bread choice. Remember to eat it quickly if you like bread with your meal! Service has been helpful and attentive each time. While I wish there were more great Italian options in town, amerigo is reliable when needed.

Amerigo has a varied and thoughtful menu for brunch, lunch, or dinner. I particularly appreciate the gluten free options.... In a pasta restaraunt of all places! I had brunch with my "paleo diet" friend, and she was able to find options as well. Of course, none of the options would matter if the execution were poor, but that is not the case. Excellent shrimp bisque and flame grilled salmon. I don't usually find this quality in chain restaraunts.

Despite making a reservation the only tables available upon arrival were in the bar. Normally I would not care, but as I had my daughter with me I did not want to be surrounded by a crowd of adults downing beer, cocktails, and wine while NASCAR blasts out of the bar TV. There were several tables available in the main restaurant but apparently there must be a special class of reservation for Amerigo or perhaps OpenTable reservations are simply not a priority. After about 20 minutes we were finally seated with little apology. The food here is decent, but I will not be back as the hospitality (particularly the hostess) was horrible.
