It was the best seabass I have eaten in at least 5 years. my seafood was done in the middle, I don't like seafood cooked like a steak. My wife had the corn crusted red snapper, Corn is not my favorite crusting ingredient, but my wife liked it. We loved the tres leches. I saw many other interesting menu items and dishes brought to other diners that looked highly edible. The business casual almost deterred me from going as it was hot and we were around the area shopping, so I verified with the staff that the dress shorts I was wearing would be acceptable. Our waiter Rafael was exceptional, his recommendations were spot on and wonderful. We enjoyed 5 courses and each one was mouth watering. The menu offered a great variety of new Latin cuisine. The crowd was gathering as we were leaving which caused the noise level to increase. No complaints here. The seating by the window and in the corner was fantastic. You listened to my every request. If you make reservations here be sure to state a table with a view, I just asked for a good table so I got by the buffet line. Both were lobster-tail paired, the one Chilean Sea Bass, the other Bison steak. The lobster tails were ok, but not up to the fish and meat they accompanied. Sea bass was luscious and plump and perfectly done. Bison was out of this world -- medium well was perfectly moist, and the flavor was superb, very slightly salty with that wonderful fat-free, grass-fed super-beef savor. Descending the stairs you feel like dinner is an occasion, as it should be.We had an out of town guest with us this time. When we arrived downstairs, we were told that a table by the water would be a five minute wait for bussing. It was twenty minutes. Long waits for food. Cold coffee. We had a window table with a nice view of the waterway, which contributed to the delightful dining experience. Great food, service and ambience. We had entradas ranging from the crusted snapper to the sea bass to the pork tenderloin and there was not a plate left uncleaned! And of course, had to have dessert -- tres leches and tequila bread pudding.
Easy to get to and park...either the parking garage off of Waterway Ave or valet. Lots of reminders of a San Antonio river walk dining experience!
