Américas - The WoodlandsGreat Mother's Day BrunchGreat food and very good service. We enjoyed the brunch very much!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFANTASTIC!!We enjoyed Mother's Day Brunch at Americas! The food was outstanding! So much to choose from! And everything was absolutely delicious. Only problem was there was so much food, impossible to have a little bit of everything!! And we had two waiters serving us, so no lack of service either. All in all, a completely enjoyable experience! Would highly recommend.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodMother's Day we went for Dinner and thankfully took our waiter's recommendation for the specials. Both were lobster-tail paired, the one Chilean Sea Bass, the other Bison steak. The lobster tails were ok, but not up to the fish and meat they accompanied. Sea bass was luscious and plump and perfectly done. Bison was out of this world -- medium well was perfectly moist, and the flavor was superb, very slightly salty with that wonderful fat-free, grass-fed super-beef savor. A great place for special times.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMRafael makes this place outstandingRafael makes this place outstanding with his superb service !!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPefect birthday mealAbsolutely delicious dinner. The menu is interesting and different from the usual restaurant fare, and everything was well executed. Loved the presentation of freshly cooked vegetables for the table too. An expensive place, but well worth it.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMwaynoeverthing was nice,,, our main dish wasn't ice cold but it was not hot,5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible dining experience.Incredible dining experience. The food / service was fantastic and the setting along the Woodlands' waterway was incredible.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways greatThis was my second time at Americas and it was excellent both times. We sat outside this time and it was great to have great food and nice weather. The pork, lobster tail side dish and pretty much everything else is very delicious.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you havent been there, you must! This is absolutely one of our most favorite restaurants in the Woodlands, and there are many to chose from. The food is always outstanding and the service friendly and prompt.
We regularly have Sunday brunch (as a guest of our houseguest!)here as it has the biggest variety.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMService was outstanding &Service was outstanding & food very good, but inconsistent. I had ceviche as a first course & it was excellent in both taste & presentation. The main course steak which Americas is famous for, not so great on either - not bad, just not special. Overall, though, we had a lovely evening & I do recommend.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Wine DinersAmericas always does such a fantastic job on their wine dinners. The food is amazing and we love how they change things up with their wine pairings. They don't always use wines from South America, even though we love them. Recently we had French wines, which I don't usually care for, but these were great. We have really enjoyed Emily as our server and will miss her when she moves. Best of luck to her!!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place. The ambianceGreat place. The ambiance is hip elegant. Great place for food with friends or date night. Love there latin food. Unique.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first experienceThis was our first experience with Americas. I had the special of sea bass and lobster and it was outstanding. I have not had good seafood like that in a long, long time. Our waiter (Arthur)was excellent, as well.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Churrasco was really veryThe Churrasco was really very good! Loved the Tres Leches and bread pudding.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA must go and enjoyReally enjoyed the South American cuisine. The plantain chips were awesome. The salmon was fantastic. However the tres leches cake was absolutely to die for. The icing was so creamy and wonderfully sweet but not too sweet. The cake was super moist and delicious. Chased by a cup of coffee and the night was done.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMStill going...I was so disappointed that the sister restaurant on Gessner (Churrascos) redid their decor in Cracker Barrel style, doing away with the elegant linens and touches that made it feel so special - including ROUND tables for six!!! I was afraid that Americas would follow suit. Fortunately, no. The waterway level restaurant is still gorgeous. Descending the stairs you feel like dinner is an occasion, as it should be.We had an out of town guest with us this time. She loved the menu and food, but I had to apologize for the uncharacteristically slow and inattentive service. When we arrived downstairs, we were told that a table by the water would be a five minute wait for bussing. It was twenty minutes. Long waits for food. Cold coffee. Etc.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI always enjoy going to America's.I always enjoy going to America's. Can't wait to go back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time toThis was our first time to dine here. My wife and I came here for our 5 year anniversary. We will be back!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe (two couples) dined atWe (two couples) dined at America's, celebrating two birthdays, and had a great dining experience. We had a window table with a nice view of the waterway, which contributed to the delightful dining experience. Great food, service and ambience. We had entradas ranging from the crusted snapper to the sea bass to the pork tenderloin and there was not a plate left uncleaned! And of course, had to have dessert -- tres leches and tequila bread pudding.
Easy to get to and park...either the parking garage off of Waterway Ave or valet. Lots of reminders of a San Antonio river walk dining experience!
For sure would return...no need to go into Houston to the original America's!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had reservations for 11:45We had reservations for 11:45 am on Saturday and they don't open until noon.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA rare treatAmbience on the Woodlands Canal is superb, though wait until sundown. The evening sun on the outdoor deck is uncomfortable. The trees are beautifully lighted at night. The food is South American with many delicious and unusual flavors. Service was most excellent.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was very good exceptEverything was very good except the chairs are very uncomfortable! You want to enjoy the dining experience and wine not be trying to find a comfortable way to sit in the extremely awkward chairs.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't rave enough about theCan't rave enough about the service. Everyone was very polite and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was mostly just ok. The appetizer special was great however the entree was so-so. I asked for a medium-rare Churasco and it was medium-well. It was a business dinner so it wasn't worth asking the waiter to bring it back. I will likely give this place one more chance before I write it off. The food is pricey enough that the whole experience should be excellent.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a real problem with bananaHad a real problem with banana flys, small flying nats, very bad at times, had to cork our wine and cover our water.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely one of our veryAbsolutely one of our very favorite places to dine. The service is always perfect ... and dessert? Well, make sure you order the "Flaming Tres Leches"!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
