A word from American Tap Room
This is American Regional Cuisine at its classic, pub-inspired best. The food is fun and what we like to call “approachable”. You’ll also enjoy some twists on the classics with taste-inspired ideas like our Dirty Caesar Salad and Greek Turkey Burger. At the American Tap Room we believe in using local ingredients as much as possible and, yes, everything we serve goes well with beer.

Ranging from weekend brunch, to a casual lunch outing or an after-work gathering in our bar, each dining experience is uniquely enjoyable.

Enjoy your time with us on our outdoor patio, inside by the fireplace, or by booking a private event.

Diner Reviews
  • "$14 burger...I could get a better one for $5 at Five Guys. Not great."

  • "We had a team meeting and found the service and food to be great. The table was big enough for 6 persons and we were able to easily talk among ourselves as the ambient noise was fine. Thanks for a great evening! From my Team..."

  • "You can eat by a fireplace in a quieter section of the big open dining room, or be at the bar in the middle of all the noise. ATR has everything."

  • "Good selection of beers on tap, including Jefferson Bourbon Barrel Stout"

  • "This was my first time at the Tap Room and I was very pleased! Rachel, our waitress, was excellent! Kind, attentive, and efficient. I loved the crab cake sandwich and the sauce was unimaginably good! In fact, everything I ordered was well done, well presented, and completely consumed! If I didn't live so far away, I'd come more often. Thanks for allowing me this opportunity to let you know."

  • "The food was, basically, very good and there was a great selection to choose from. The only thing that bothered me was that they ran out of things on the buffet and were pretty slow to replace them. Otherwise, it was a very good experience."

  • "I chose American Tap Room for a dinner date with my significant other to celebrate some good news. We were seated right by the dual sided fireplace and our reservation was at 9pm so by then it wasn't crowded and it was pretty quiet, which made for a very romantic ambiance. The food, wine and dessert were all excellent! While our server was prompt at taking our orders and helpful by recommending a good wine to go with our dinner, he failed to return to the table to check on us during the meal and it took a while to get the menus cleared off the table and the check at the end of the meal. Other than that, everything else was amazing! I expected better service but it was a late reservation so they were probably winding down for the night."

  • "This was the first time most if not the entire group had been to American Tap Room located in Reston Town Center. We had RSVp'd for 5pm for 7 people but unfortunately we were unable to make it there until 5:30; although I had already made them aware we were going to be there till 7:30-8pm. They happily confirmed my Reservation. But once we got there we felt very rushed and the server was very inappropriately rude towards our group. We will NOT be recommending this location to anyone because our experience was horrible and we all were on our first date."

  • "I love this restaurant for lunch. The staff is so friendly, they accommodate larger groups and they never rush you. We love the menu and the presentation. I would recommend them highly."

  • "Nice menu selection and the service was excellent. Crabmeat/spinach omelet was good and the accompanying fruit was fresh and delicious and ample. Highly recommend the pretzels and sauce dips which are so fresh and wonderful."

  • "My wife and I dined at ATR for my birthday during a long weekend out of town. We're from Philadelphia and we have our expectations set pretty high when we dine out, so we are pretty choosy when we place a reservation somewhere. We booked through OpenTable with a special request for a quiet section to be seated in. Not only was our request accommodated, but the waiter in our section (Eric) was particularly knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions for our consideration. He was also very patient and was happy to answer any questions we had about the menus. I would definitely dine here again."

  • "We caught some of the first half action of the NFC Championship game this weekend and had a nice grilled salmon dinner at this boisterous Reston Town Center establishment. My wife and I both had the excellent salmon entree with a tasty lemon-dijon vinaigrette. I also ordered a cup of the slightly spicy Maryland crab soup, loaded with tender crab meat. My wife had the fresh garden salad, and both apps were good and fresh. We split the desert, Irish Brownie Sundae, good but quite rich and sweet. Alex was our our server and did and excellent job. We will return again next time we're in the area and try some other dishes on the menu."

  • "A bit pricey for what it is. Swordfish was good but rice and salad were bland. Glad we made a reservation for group of 5."

  • "My husband's rib eye steak was horrible; my flat iron steak was very good. Inconsistent food results."

  • "My husband and I visited here the week before to try one of their on-tap selections after having dined at another venue earlier in the evening. We enjoyed the atmosphere (and drinks!) enough that we decided to try it for dinner the following weekend. We are glad we did! I had the jumbo sea scallops and hubby had the steak. Overall it was very good. I also started with the Maryland crab soup which was also a winner. The set up is such that even though you are dining in a sports-bar environment, you are able to enjoy your dinner in relative quiet and hold a normal-voice level conversation. We look forward to going back!"

  • "The food, service and ambiance were great.. we were accommodated next to the fire place which brought a wonderful vibe to our dinner. We order beer, a bottle of sparkling wine Mum's and burguers everything was perfect."

  • "Other than the ambience, was not impressed at all. The portions were small, not at all prepared to our request and forget getting a refill. Get a better burger at McDonald's."

  • "Went for Sunday brunch with a couple of friends, and was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, the service was very good, and the restaurant looked great. (It had been several years since I had visited.) The menu wasn't very extensive, but there was something for everyone, and we were all happy with our meals. (Two brunch buffets and one Greek burger.) The only thing I would have changed would have been maple syrup with the waffles (instead of pancake syrup). We will most likely be dining here again."

  • "This was our first time dining at this restaurant. Unfortunately, our waiter was either very new or just not all there. He was, however, very nice. The biggest of many gaffes was when the waiter brought my entree he asked if we wanted an extra plate. Turns out he had completely missed my wife's order and had to put in her order for Lobster Mac & Cheese while I ate. I ordered a Hoegaarden Belgian White Ale (a bottled beer on the menu), and got a draft Blue Moon. No idea why. I just went ahead and drank it. This is a neat place with a nice decor and a fireplace. It gets crowded fast on a Saturday evening, so make a reservation even if you're going early. I wonder what our experience would have been like with another waiter or waitress."

  • "Restaurant is "lively" and is really a sports bar. We were seated on time and greeting was pleasant. The restaurant has lighted menus, a nice novelty, except half our menus were not working. Drink service was slow. Appetizer Pretzels were dry and over baked and the dips were tasty, though no one bothered to tell us which was which. I had the "NY Strip Oscar" which much to my surprise had no crab at all , unlike every other "steak oscar" I had ever had. Quality was average and was requested med rare but arrived well. My wife had the salad with steak and enjoyed it. My daughter ordered chicken & waffles which arrived severely over fried, almost chocolate in color, & dried out from over-cooking. My son had a burger which he said was "ok"."
