My husband and I came here on an Amazon deal that was great. For $65, we each had wine, soup or salad, appetizer, entrée and dessert. The deal was excellent and we liked that there were no restrictions. I had the Maryland crab soup (a bit salty but excellent) and my husband had the iceberg lettuce with bacon and blue cheese. For appetizers, I had the mussels (good, not great) and my husband had the short ribs (he really enjoyed this). For entrees, I had the scallops (very good) and he had the rib-eye (decent, but a bit on the tough side). Desserts were very good (crème brulee and flourless chocolate cake). The restaurant was smart to offer this excellent deal. We will definitely be back.

Now that Miss Saigon has closed we visited the American Tap Room again & it was much more delicious! As you all know, your impression of a place often depends on what you order &, although what we had on our first two trips was okay, this last trip showed that they have some dishes that we will return for. I had the garlic crusted cod & *loved* every bite. Although I had to add salt and pepper, I would much rather season my own food than have something that was over-salted in an attempt to add flavor. It was delicious! We also tried the blackened trout which was tasty, but the blackening was very salty & overwhelmed the delicate fish. Tasty though, &the rice and veggie sides were perfect. A Tap Room is good (and fresh), but still not great.

This is only my second time here. We had a very bad experience the first time and promised never to go back. But since my friend wanted to try it, I figured I'd give them a second chance. We were there at 5:30pm so we had great service since the place was half empty. my friend had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken. Halfway through his meal, he stopped because he said the chicken tasted really dry. I had the Garlic Crusted Cod. The fish tasted like it was frozen, then thawed in the microwave and then cooked. It tasted like I was eating air. This time, I am really never coming back.

My 9 yr old daughter & I met another mon and her daughter for dinner at the Rkvlle location. It was great....food and drinks. The girls ordered the "tap tail" called cherry bomb and it was amazing...think Shirley Temple topped with a mound of pink cotton candy...both of us took pics of it!

Not sure where to start with the American Tap Room... Love the commitment to fresh food. We appreciate the nice big bar with a great selection of beers and the bartender was great, but something was *missing* and the food was just okay. The pickle-y tomato-cucumber-olive salad that came with my Greek-style turkey burger was *delicious*, but the burger itself was a little dry and lackluster. The Taproom wings were average and not worth returning for. It was a nice weeknight when we visited and they do have outdoor seating and BIG window screens along the front seats allow the dining room to be delightfully airy. There were not many other diners, so it was quiet, but a busier night may be more noisy as the interior is a bit sharp and sparse.

This place is one of our kids favorites, especially do to the kids menu, and crazy kids drinks. The regular menu could use a little help, as it has gotten a little too condensed. But the food is rather good for sure. The wine list is decent, but could be revamped as well. But overall, this is a great place!

Met some friends here on a Saturday night for dinner. The service was friendly and attentitite and the burger I ordered (BBQ Bacon) was very good, but the portion of fries was small and the dessert (carrot cake) was small and left a little to be desired. The atmosphere of Rockville Square was vibrant and definitely a plus as we dined outside. I'll probably give this place another shot, but I won't rush to do so.

The service was really good but the food was terrible. We ordered the cheesesteak eggrolls, salad with fried chicken and my husband had the almond crusted trout. The trout looked like a pizza and had no flavor, the salad had overcooked chunks of chicken and smelled weird, and the egg rolls were tasteless and very greasy. The waiter was gracious and offered to replace our meals but we lost our appetite by then and just left. The place could do with a renovation - the décor and furniture was very dated and kind of cheesy. They should also consider playing music in the background - its a large space and had very few diners Tuesday around 7pm and seemed almost too quiet. But the worst aspect was the food - we will not return.

My fiancé and I love the American Tap Room in Bethesda so when it was time to choose a restaurant for my birthday dinner I thought American Tap Room would be a good choice. There were no available reservations in Bethesda so we made one in Rockville. The food and beer was delicious, but we were not impressed with the service. We were there on Father's Day and it seemed like they might have been under staffed, but the hostess forgot to reserve our table outside (after my fiancé and I arrived a half our before our reservation to request it and she seated multiple parties outside) and our waitress seemed really flustered. I think we'd go back for lunch or beers, but not for dinner and certainly not for a special occasion.

I've been to other locations in DC area and this was my first time at the Rockville Town Center. I usually go for bunch at ATRs and the brunch menu here seem lacking. There weren't that many appetizing choices to choose from compared to the other locations. My friend and I ordered the chive and crab omelette and it tasted bland. I may come back for lunch or dinner but not for brunch.

Had the chicken and waffles on a Tuesday (in an empty place, only 4 other customers). I am from the south, and the chicken and waffles at American tap room would not be acceptable in my hometown. Chicken was over cooked but waffles were good. Maple syrup was fair at best. Should have had a sandwich. Service was good.

Chicken waffles was sad. Burnt chicken, ice cold butter for waffles, who does this. Turn your fryers down! 4:30 in the afternoon, have to go to bar to get happy hour. Bartender was so out of it. Takes a personal conversation with a co worker, let alone, we are standing there with cash in hand waiting to get a drink, 15 minutes later we get waited on. Only 2 patrons at bar. No body there. Get a life bartender!!,

We started off at the bar and had a couple of hh drinks with a chicken quesadilla app - excellent! Ended up staying there, place was not busy so it was odd why the food took longer than expected to come out of the kitchen but it was delicious. Our dinner fare was surprisingly good! My wife had the trout and I had the salmon. Everything was delicious, well portioned and priced right. There are lots of choices in the Rockville Town Center, ATR for us was a good experience.

We usually have a great dining experience, but not this time. We sat outside on a sunny evening and there are only three umbrellas to block the sun. We sat at a tiny table meant for two but we had three people. The table was crooked and everything kept sliding off, including our drinks. The waiter tried hard, but he got my drink order wrong and my husband's food order wrong and brought the wrong side dish for our son. He made up for it and comped one of the drinks, but I was still disappointed overall. we may reconsider bringing our son next time, which is a shame because it usually is a nice experience for a family.

I was excited to try this new place, and while the pretzel appetizer and dips were amazing, the service was really awful. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food (salad and a burger) and my burger was very overcooked. The family next to us were so dissatisfied, they left without paying and I think it took the server 15 minutes to even realize that. I will not be going back.

we found the main meals pedestrian and not what one would expect. They should either better communicate the difference in their preparation vice other establishments. The steak had a thick sauce that was not desired and quite odd for a NY Strip. The Humus burger was extremely spicy. The Mac&Cheese was very bland and in our kids words "horrible". The Kids Chicken and waffle was a very big hit. The sangrias were excellent. The beer selection was marginal but the two tried with the meal were both good. The appetizer (crab dip with baguette) was also a big hit. They had clean restrooms, good decor and plenty of room for seating. Would suggest drinks and appetizer but maybe someplace else for main meal.

I couldn't find reservation 3 days before Mother's Day; this was the only option that served American fare at the time we had planned to meet my mom. I trying to be optimistic given the negative reviews, but I thought their buffet spread was great. Our server was sweet, but a little absent. The management staff was really attentive though. I thought it was great and so did my family.

I visited ATR for Mother's Day brunch. We did not have a good experience. The price for the buffet was high ($29.95), especially for the selection of foods offered. The carving station and omelet bar was nice, but he was getting very backed up as he was the only one working at the station. He was the only staff member I encountered that pleasantly said, "Hi, Happy Mother's Day!" Our waiter, Michael, was disengaged. We ordered 3 sodas and a Mimosa. He forgot one soda and the Mimosa. Staff was cleaning carpets by our table, while our server was putting on lip balm, with his finger, next to our table. For $30 a person, I expect better food ,an attentive server and a positive attitude from staff - especially on a holiday marketed to mothers.

I've been here a few times for lunch and thought it was pretty good. Took my mom to try the Mother's Day brunch and was a little disappointed. They did have a variety of options, mostly lunch items and very few breakfast choices. The main complaint I have was that many of the items were not hot, even though we got there at 10am. After receiving the bill I was certainly not happy with price I had to pay for the average meal we had.

Something has changed.....it used to be a restaurant we could go for a nice meal that was also good to go with our kids. 5 out of 6 ordered various burgers, 1 ordered a salad with a crab cake. When the food finally arrived, they had messed up every single burger. At first we thought the servers just placed the burgers in front of the wrong people....not a big deal. We sent 1 burger back for dietary reasons, but we were so hungry we just ate what they gave us. The manager NEVER came over even after we complained and pointed out the problem. The server blamed the kitchen saying they were overwhelmed, however....No one offered to comp anything!

Perhaps the single worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. These guys need to get their act together. Food was slow, server flippant, manager uninterested. ATR should clean house. Multiple Diners met outside after the meal to discuss how bad the service was. Soup arrived after the entree. Salad was missing ingredients. Servers were absent for long periods of time. Apologies? None offered. Explanations for poor service were weak at best. My recommendation-- PASS. With multiple dining options in Rockville town center this place needs to find its A game quickly.
