"Pod service - the staff were not attentive. For example, when saying "burger, medium rare, no cheese," I should not has to be asked again if I want cheese with it. Food wAs subpar. Burger was prepared okay, but lettuce was. It fresh. Fries were soggy and almost Inedible."

"Food is good, nothing special. I've been twice and nothing's stood out other than the lobster mashed potatoes. Yum! Service is reliable, and the servers keep a good eye on your drink levels. he real draw is the wall of taps. So many beers to try, AND they have Strongbow Cider on tap! Can get pretty noisy at peak hour, but it's ok for the vibe. Definitely will head back to the bar."

"My first time here, would definitely return. Everyone at the table liked their meal, draft beer list was exceptional (an important factor to those of us from Oregon), reservations made quickly and easily via Open Table. Only real flaw was that the serving staff seemed to be a bit overwhelmed at times. Nevertheless, it's now on my list of restaurants for my visits to the Washington, DC area and have recommended it to friends who live there."

"The food was good as was the service. I was disappointed it was a brunch menu because I was craving the shrimp and rice which was not on the menu, but the spinach artichoke chicken sandwich was very good. Will definitely be back."

"The American Tap Room was very energetic with a lot of activity, but yet it was not intrusive. The bar area was lively but not loud. The service staff were all very attentive, but not annoying. The food was very good, portions were better then average, and the cost was reasonable compared to the quality and quantity of the food. There were families with children, couples, and groups of people and all seemed to be enjoying themselves. All in all a good experience."

"Definitely mixed reviews. The outside sitting is great for Arlington and the gas-fireplaces add a fun ambiance and heat if the weather gets chilly in the evenings. The back bar is a great place for a small group and drinks. For more details on my review -- we were 2 couples (30s/40s) decently dressed for an early dinner (6pm) on a lovely Friday evening. We were lucky to get an outdoor table so the evening started of on a good foot. What we ordered: vermouth steamed mussels for the table (small/not very flavorful) 1- baby spinach salad (yum!) and margherita pizza (bland/no flavor/boring) 2- porter braised beef (ok) 3- lobster mac (YUM!) 4- scallops (EXCELLENT). Service was fair based on empty water glasses and no offer for more drinks."

"We had hoped for a good meal as a number of the reviews were positive. I can tell you that this was the worst food we have had in Metro DC since moving here six months ago. Expecting good bar food we got mushy pasta, terrible french fries, bland pizza, and when I ordered a Harpoon IPA I received a Harp beer. Needless to say I pointed that out and the waitress proceeded to explain that I got what I ordered.

Very frustrating experience!"

"I don't write reviews but the food at this restaurant was so mediocre I feel like I was duped in my dinner experience there. Every single item we ordered was terrible, tasteless, or too seasoned and salty, over cooked or runny. Lively service though, but unless you a nice staff is not going to make up for the ridiculously poor food. Dont waste your money, and for your second dinner which you will need one since you will be hungry from eating two bites of your meal here go to Pete's Pizza or anywhere else instead."
