  • "Bit pricy and the theme was not our favorite...but in spite...had a great time and will be back again with a different theme. Students were and are passionate about their work and proud of it."

  • "These culinary students make innovative dishes and desserts which are visually beautiful and delectable. We happened upon South American buffet night and were delighted with all the many choices of salads, appetizers, entrees and desserts that were works of art. Even the music was in keeping with the theme. I highly recommend dining here whenever possible. You can find breakfast, lunch and dinner schedules here: http://vistatech.schoolcraft.edu/Attendees/Restaurants/AmericanHarvest.aspx"

  • "The main dishes were served luke warm. Add more sterno cans and plate warmers to insure food is served warmer. Still a wonderful experience and plan on going again. Thanks for a great dinning experience."

  • "It's great that you can test foods you would never cook yourself, or order as a sole dish. A small taste of everything and then go back for your favorite."

  • "Our group of six was very pleased with the food and service. Our waitstaff was personable and helpful; however the food should be served at the same time. Two of our party ordered soup and salad which was served together long before the rest of our party was served. Even though the temperature that day was a very chilly 45 degrees, the air conditioning was not only on but blowing directly on our table and I asked twice (to no avail) to have it adjusted in order that we could eat without our winter coats on. We observed other diners wearing coats also. This made our dining experience very uncomfortable and as a result our food was almost cold before we had time to finish. For this reason alone I would not return."

  • "The students and their Master and Executive Chef instructors are second to none. The food is expertly prepared, beautifully plated, and amazingly delicious. Chef Loving's Bourbon Bread Pudding is a delight! For all the restaurants on "Restaurant Row" on Haggerty Road, this one outshines them all."

  • "Excellent food Staff pleasant and very helpful. Noise LOUD. I brought my 90+ mother here for lunch. Sadly, I do not think I will bring her back. She could not hear a word uttered by anyone at our 4 person table. Music was a big distraction and conversations bounced walls and wood floors. It was challenging for me to hear my lunch mates, and I was not the one with the hearing aids. I am surprised that the architect who designed this fairly new building did not include noise-reduction features, which would have made this a truly outstanding meeting place. There are more hear-impaired patrons than most people realize."

  • "The dining experience was spectacular, the meal was exceptionally plated and delicious. I had the Tuna and my mother had the short ribs, portions were excellent, the bread to die for, and desserts were magnificent!!! And it was reasonably priced. Thank you and I'll be back!!!"

  • "I, along with my fellow co-workers, enjoyed a pleasant dining experience that was cherished by all. Food was spectacular, a large variety of Asian foods, foods that I wasn't even familiar with, wish I could eat like I did when I was 20. The only disappointment was the desert bar that didn't have the wonderful Crème Brulee that we have all come to look forward to. A pleasant evening indeed. Those at work that couldn't make it will be envious come Monday morning."

  • "I ordered the goulash soup! I did not like it! I asked the waitress what was in it and she said lamb then she said it was veal ! I don't like lamb! The salad I ordered was underdressed and had the wrong dressing! I ordered the flank steak it was good but not hot the sides were awesome! Dessert was the Carmel chocolate upside down apple pie. I felt it would have been much better if it was warm !! Overall I would like to try the buffet.. I feel that I would be able to try some different things if there was something I didn't like! I understand this is a school and the student are learning, but for 27.00 with tip I was disappointed"

  • "This restaurant is on the Schoolcraft College campus. The culinary students do all the cooking, baking and serving. I ordered the salmon and it was the best I've ever had! The dessert selection was big I had a hard time deciding. The service was great, the food was great. I will be coming back often."

  • "Unusually today's food and services were below most other days' service and food. Potato's were half cooked and dish as a whole was just plain and amateurish."

  • "We had a great dining experience. The atmosphere was really nice. It was also nice to see all of the students and get to talk with them about the food that they prepared."

  • "Because this is a learning center for upcoming chefs, the students do an outstanding job to serve and prepare food for the patron! I would visit everyday if I could."

  • "Initially, the seating of customers was slow and unorganized. Also, the food was good but very small portions for the dollar amount. Rather expensive overall. I could have gone to a nice restaurant for the price. The waiter was absolutely wonderful."

  • "Outstanding restaurant. The food was similar to a 5 star restaurant at considerably less cost. The student chiefs, working under Master Chiefs, are amazing. We cannot recommend this enough. We are looking forward to trying out their dinner, having had lunch twice. Service was slow sometimes but not intolerable."

  • "Taste of food was delicious, the only comment was the food was served luke warm for our entire table. Great price for the amount of food you get. The desserts were outstanding!!!"

  • "I've always enjoyed going to American Harvest. The food is outstanding and well presented. My only complaint is that the service is only fair. The culinary school needs to stress this as part of their teaching."

  • "We went to the European theme dinner, there were many favorites, seafood bisque, lamb chops, sliced duck breast, coco van , over 12 types of salads , this was a buffet dinner, one of the salad items was a leaf of endive with marinated beets, 15 types of deserts, crème Brule, torts on and on. At$ 26.95 this is a great deal. Schoolcraft College has a hidden gem here! Wine and Beer are available. Service was excellent."

  • "Service was a bit on the slow side, but don't go there if you don't have much time. The food is delicious and everyone is trying his best to make you satisfied. The dessert choice is amazing. I would not recommend bringing young children."

  • "It's a treat to have a lovely dinner a American Harvest Restaurant. We went to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. We enjoy hearing the students discuss with pride the food they have made. It makes it taste better. Sometimes service is a little slow and even awkward. This restaurant is for people to learn their craft, so it is not bothersome."

  • "My mom and I both had the perch for lunch, and at around $11 each per entree, it was truly a wonderful value and absolutely delicious. They were perfectly presented and generously portioned. We really enjoyed perusing the dessert options, and it was very difficult to choose one since there were MANY options available, and perfectly presented along the bar area as you walk in. My only complaint was that the leafy greens (spinach maybe?) and the green beans on our entree were a bit undercooked, and I do like my veggies a little crunchy. Other than that they did a fantastic job with the quality of the food, the presentation, and also the hospitality of the hostess, making us feel VERY welcome and eager to come back."

  • "I was amazed by the food. I had chicken. Service was great except for dessert. The bananas Foster took a half an hour after we ordered for rent received it. and, our other two desserts to come until after that. Don't come if you're on a tight schedule"

  • "Mary & I, once again, really enjoyed our experiences of celebrating our Sept birthdays here. This was our second time here. The service is very good, the food is delicious. One suggestion is to offer a dessert sample plate for lunch."

  • "Disappointed this visit. Sea Bass choice not available very early. Very loud. Hard to talk to others at table. Burger very mediocre. Limited menu choices."

  • "The options are limited and that I understand however when I was one of the first 10 patrons seated and when the waitress got to our table the primary specialty was already almost out. I had to place my order for it quickly in order to get it and the waitress told me that I received one of the last few available orders for that item."
