  • "We dined here through a HowAboutWe for couples deal this past weekend-- which included 2 salads, a large flatbread, bottle of wine and a dessert. Overall, the meal was quite good. The salads were inventive and fresh. The bottle of wine was also a very good merlot. The only hiccup (though it was quickly resolved) was that we asked for light cheese on our flatbread, but it came out with a very heavy layer of cheese. This was quickly taken care of by our lovely waitress, and the rest of the evening went off without a hitch. In terms of ambiance, the place is cavernous, which can be a little odd on a Saturday night. In fact, we were basically the last table in the restaurant (left around 10pm). But, overall, worth checking this place out."

  • "We live in the neighborhood and have been wanting to try it out. We went with a large party on a Saturday, they were visiting from out of country and wanted to go someplace it was lively. On a Saturday it was quite empty. The flat bread was good- but they are pizzas .. The service was sub par. He couldn't get our drink order correct, and than he messed up on the pizza- and said this is what he heard and wouldn't apologize for his mistake. When leaving we tried to get a few packed up but our waiter was no wear to be found, went to the hostess to ask for help- she was checking her phone. I expected more, but would go back for good brick oven pizza. "

  • "The food is simply amazing. The ovens really give the pizza an amazing flavor, and you couldn't find better ingredients. Our server was fantastic. Really worth a try if you haven't had it. The price is good if you split a large with someone, and you might even have some to take home! Also try the lemonade sweetened with maple syrup, it's really amazing!"

In Waitsfield and Burlington the weekend wait is generally 2+ hrs for a table (no reservations). At Tribeca hearth, we made a reservation and our table was waiting for us Friday night at 715p. Do yourself a BIG favor and run, don't walk, to American Flatbreads Tribeca Hearth. Just don't call it pizza......."

However, the feel of the place was more like a CPK and we were hoping for someting a little more cozy and elegant. Great for families or a low key group...not so great for a fancy dinner."

  • "I was a fan and have gone to American Hearth several times since its opening. Saturday, we were there with my mom, and it was just really bad. Our server was not "with it" at all. I have no idea what was going on with him, but he brought the wrong drink (beer instead of wine), then the wrong wine (white instead of red), then the wrong pizza (with mushrooms when we had specifically asked for none). The manager did offer us a complimentary appetizer while we waited. But still, by the time we got the correct pizza, the other pizza at the table was cold and soggy. It was a bad enough experience that we won't be back."

  • "Love going to American Flatbread up in Vermont near Sugarbush, so was ecstatic when they opened a Manhattan outpost. Although not the same ambiance as Vermont, for instance, no outdoor fire pit, still fabulous pizza with amazing salads! The turkey meatball appetizer melted in our mouth. We saved some of the 3 meatballs to place on the pizza. Superb!"

  • "We ordered 3 pizzas. Server didn't have an order pad. Okay, maybe he's got a great memory. He asked us to repeat the order. We did. When pizzas came out, 2 out of 3 were wrong. How hard is it to write down the order to ensure that your guest get the right pizzas? Also, they should let you know that Tribeca Hearth pepperoni is nothing like regular pepperoni. It's more like homemade sausage. That's fine, but it would be nice to know and not expect pepperoni on your pizza. Wouldn't go again. Management needs to do a better job training wait staff and following up to be sure they give good service."

  • "about 6th time i've been to this restaurant. service is always good and they are attentive. we actually decided to sit at the bar and eat because the dining area was louder. the overall quality of the food is very good. i wanted a margarita pizza which they took off the menu, but they did try to provide, but it seems they don't keep fresh basil on hand. i wouldn't call it classic italian, but i guess that's why it's called american flatbread. another note, is that my wife loved their previous gluten-free pizza, but it seems they've switched the recipe, due to what the manager explained that the previous dough made it too costly (um, isn't the average price of a condo about a million dollars in tribeca?). we gave our feedback to the manager"

  • "I tried this place because I really enjoyed the branches in Vermont. It's decent food, but you can get much better pizza just about anywhere in New York. The prices were a bit high for what's offered. What really irked me was that they offer a gluten free crust, but they charge FIVE dollars more for a pizza that is smaller than their small pizza. Charging a few extra dollars for a GF crust is not unreasonable, but this was a bit over the line. Unfortunately, because there are hardly any options unless you have pizza, I would definitely not reccomend this place if you are looking for GF food, or really anything but a decent pizza with some interesting toppings. It's worth trying, but don't expect the best pizza you've ever had."

  • "The appearance is open, sparse (not warm or cozy). The noise level is bearable, but there are no sound-absorbing features from what I could see. The food is overpriced. It's good, no exceptional. The thin crust (pizza) was not crispy, making each piece limp, almost soggy. And, the individual pizzas were cut in tiny pieces -- not appealing."

  • "Went for some dinner with friends that we hadn't seen in a couple of months. Wanted to catch up on things with them. Unfortunately, we couldn't hear each other from across the table because the place was SO loud. They had a kids birthday party (with their parents, too) in one part of the restaurant (open to the entire area with other patrons) and the group of them (total of maybe 25) created waaaaaaaaay too much noise for us to be able to talk.The restaurant staff seemed to do nothing about the out of control nature of the kids, which is really where my gripe lies. I'll go back, but if there's another "private party" I'm walking right out the door that I came in."
