  • "Seafood was delicious . Waiter very knowledgable about oysters and sake. Meal portions were perfect, not huge , which made the meal more appealing , not humongous like many restaurants in the US like to serve. We had a great table with a view of the kitchen."

  • "Great for tourists who don't mind being overcharged. Not so great for locals who go to the strip on a night on the town. Food not especially that well prepared! Probably will not come back again or recommend to my friends."

  • "My wife and I had the prix fix with wine pairing and had an excellent dinner but the pacing was a little off. The diner took 2:45"

  • "Took my mom here for her birthday dinner and staff did an amazing job keeping surprises a secret for her and also accomodating all of our requests to make her birthday special. Food was fantastic...all of it, even the bread at the start. Service was great, overall, a great spot for a nice dinner in Las Vegas!"

  • "It was a great meal and wonderful service! The waitress made sure we were out on time for our show later in the evening. When in discussion as to why we were in Vegas we mentioned it was my birthday and they surprised me with a happy birthday sorbet!"

  • "This was our second trip here. This time we tried the Chef's tasting menu with wine paring. Everything from start to finish was fantastic including the wine pairings. I'd recommend this to anyone seeking a special dining experience. We were celebrating a birthday so it was great to place a quick order than wait for the food and wine to start coming to our table."

  • "Excellent service and tasty menu. A romantic seafood restaurant with a fantastic wine list!"

  • "Every time we dine at American Fish, our night is perfect. Roberto, the manager is such a friendly person. Esteve, Shannon, and Nelson, are the greatest waiters/waitress in the world. And the food....to die for!"

  • "The food was adequate, but underwhelming for the price and notoriety of the chef behind the restaurant. The wait staff was polite, but not very attentive."

  • "Having gone to several of Michael Mina's other restaurants (San Francisco, Baltimore, etc.) I expected American Fish in Las Vegas to be nothing less than amazing. Well - less than amazing is what we experienced. For example, we were advised to try the tuna tartar, one of their signature items (which could explain why is cost so much to order). The presentation was lovely, but the taste was bland. I am a huge fan of Michael Mina, but would not spend money to go back to this restaurant. It wasn't bad - but it did not knock my socks off."

  • "We loved the atmosphere of this restaurant-even though it was a bit noisy.... But from the butter lettuce salad- the crab cakes lobster mashed- the grilled prawns to the wines were excellent except for the new york steaks was a little dried could use a little more sauce. We definitely would come back to try other dishes."

  • "I was so amp'd up to visit this place as it's received so many strong reviews. I have to tell you that even giving it 3 stars is me just being nice. I've dined at some of the finest restaurants in the country and this place just didn't have it. Yes, there were a couple of things that stood out as exquisite, but overall it was very flat. When you need to ask for salt, there's a big problem. Everything is expected to be seasoned appropriately for this type of place. Would i go back, no. Not unless someone told me that there has been a change in the kitchen. FOH was great!"

  • "Very expensive wine list 2 bottles found for $60. Found one for $38,000 and many in that range. Shrimp small, salads not. Good (wife had beet salad.entree's small, cowboy steak around $65. Fair and on chewy side. Fish just ok. The corn muffins in bread basket best part of meal!"

  • "On our first vacation to Vegas (to celebrate our 2 year anniversary), we couldn't wait to try the tasting menu at American Fish that came highly recommended to us by friends who frequent the restaurant. Suffice it to say we were just as impressed as we hoped to be! The food was delicious- every dish was spot on, both in terms of taste and presentation. Moreover, the service was impeccable. Nicholas, our main server, was so great, friendly and knowledgable. Overall, a must try in Vegas!!!"

  • "I had sea scallops and prawns with a side of lobster mashed potatoes and it was OUTSTANDING. Their tableside preparation of the ahi tare tare appetizer we ordered was interesting and the result was amazing. Definitely a culinary experience worthy of note."

  • "The food was full of flavor and served perfectly. My wife had the fish & chips & I had the lobster pot pie. The plating for the pot pie is a small part what makes this dish special"

  • "A group of 5 of us ate at 8PM on a Sat night (made reserv.). Great scene, and they easily accomodated the 5 of us in a comfortable round top. We had oysters, tuna tartare and some other app that were all great. For dinner, we had Cioppino/Lobster pot pie/black cod/chicken breast. EVERYONE loved their food. My Cioppino was just a little cooler than what I'd expect, but the overall flavors made up for it. Service was great, portion size perfect and overall experience was grade A. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Vegas. A couple of my friends were asked to remove their athletic caps. BUT, they let one of them in wearing shorts and a tee shirt, and he put his hat back on and they didn't mention it again."

  • "Food was just okay. The menu was boring, and for the prices I was expecting more of a WOW factor. The salmon was uninspiring. Appetizers and dessert were also blah. Horrendous service. For the two of us to have dinner, we were there for 3 hours because our waitress ignored us. Our waitress was not busy and chatted with the hostess the whole time. At one point our she spilled a glass on the floor and the glass pieces scattered on the floor under our table, on our bare feet. The waitress did apologize, but I would have expected a complimentary SOMETHING! We got nothing! This was the worst service I've ever had in my life, and considering the restaurant is pricey ($200 for two people), it was totally unacceptable."

  • "Although the entree plates were beautifully arranged, the food is too simple to warrant its price. The mustard-glazed cod came out of the kitchen cold, a poorly fired $42 piece of fish. The re-envisioned fish and chips showed some artistic promise as a spin on a classic, but the deep fried potatoes failed meet their promise of a vinegary crisp. There is some saving grace in the knowledgeable sommelier and ponderous wine list, but to be honest when you're in Vegas go big or go home -- with flavor, not with price."

  • "I was good everithing, food, place and service, but there are better places in LV for dinner. Price value is expensive... I will not return, I think are better places... But was good."

  • "My wife and I had the Chef's Tasting menu with wine pairing. Each course was better than the last and the pairings were excellent. It was an enjoyable, non-rushed dining experience. The final dessert course was so incredible I told the waiter that I wanted to go into the kitchen and high five the pastry chef! Also, at around $140.00 per person the price was very reasonable."

  • "Valentines day menu was amazing, went with another couple. Service and food was great! Will have to do again next time we are in Vegas."

  • "I had looked forward to trying a Michael Mina restaurant, particularly for the lobster pot pie. I had high expectations for the dish and restaurant and was slightly disappointed. In this price range, a restaurant should be extraordinary and it fell short. Recently I ate at Picasso and CUT, both more expensive, but well worth it. American Fish was excellent, but I give it only a "good" rating since I expected to walk away saying "Wow!" and did not. My main issue was that the lobster and sauce of the pot pie were just ok. The presentation of the dish is great, I'm glad I tried it and the restaurant, but with some many other options on the Strip, I don't expect to return. The lobster was tough, didn't bother to complain.Maybe I'm over lobster."

  • "My husband and I went to American Fish for a nice dinner out. I have to say the restaurant management handled a difficult situation with grace and professionalism. We were seated right next to a group of obnoxiously loud people. We complained about the noise level and were informed that we were not the first to complain and that the restaurant was "handling it." To his credit, the manager moved us to another table which was much better. It just took a little while since the restaurant was packed. The food was incredible. Overall a nice experience after we were moved. The acoustics in the restaurant do not help minimize noise level when the restaurant is full. Not a place for a quiet romantic dinner. Great for a fun night out with friends."

  • "We loved the restaurant as it was a special occasion for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary with friends. Food was out of this world although our wine waiter left a little to de desired when we didn't order the truly expensive wines, she disappeared."

  • "Vegas isn't known for cheap eats anymore, for sure. However, this restaurant is very much worth the $$$$$. Phenomenal service and fabulous food. Get the Lobster Pot Pie! I would say that this meal was stellar start to finish, but the sides that we ordered were less than warm - kind of a bummer."

  • "Let me just say that the lobster pot pie is not as big as you fear when it arrives for tableside presentation, and you will be thankful for that. It, along with everything else we had, was exceptional. He's the rock star of high end comfort food (his version of fish and chips was panko-crusted dover sole and roasted fingerling potatos -- it shouldn't have worked, but it did and his tartar sauce was as good as I have ever had during my life here on the Gulf Coast). Also, I want to mention that the best Moscow Mule in Vegas (and the best I have had anywhere) is here . . . proper copper mug and all. As usual, Michael Mina presents a fun, distinctive experience from the moment you arrive."

  • "One of the best chef tasting menus. The tempura battered black cod tostada amuse bouche was light & crunchy. The ahi tuna tartare was just enough as an appetizer. One of the best Maryland blue crab cakes with lots of meaty crab. The mustard marinated black cod melt like butter. The flat iron & lobster tail was just the right amount & the steak was cooked perfectly. The chocolate peanut butter torte was not too rich to finish out the course. Good amount of food for the tasting menu. The service was very attentive at the beginning. Then around 7 it got really busy and service slowed down. It took a little while to get the dessert course and the check at the end."

  • "There are few if any restaurants like this in the country. Everything is super fresh. The staff is in synch. Interiors are captivating, uplighting and in synch with the food. The chef uses such unique woods for grilling. The Alaskan salmon grilled over apricot wood this visit was phenomenal. All vegetables and side dishes are noteworthy. The wine list was chosen by someone who knows wines. Deserts are special and of a European size so they're filling but not enough to make you fat."

  • "Service is exceptional and they seem to go out of their way to make it a pleasant experience. Food is good, but portions are small for what you pay. Everyone seemed to love the cod and I had the tuna, which was nice, but a play on seared Ahai, nothing too spectacular. The noise level is loud, so it made it difficult for a meeting setting, but a night out with friends or date is fine. The decor is awesome and inviting and the open kitchen if fun to watch. Overall it was a good experience."

  • "Everything about this place is wonderful.. the service, the food, the atmosphere.. everything. The staff is so generously nice, they treat us like a king and queen when we are there. Matt and Christian are the BEST bartenders in Vegas - they even won an award for their drinks. They will make you anything you want, and make it better. The food is outstanding, not one bad dish. The bar does offer some smaller appetizers if you want to try, otherwise the restaurant food is amazing. What else would you expect from a Michael Mina restaurant? Only the best."
