American Fish - Aria - MGM ResortsDinner at American FishWe went for Father's Day weekend. Food was well prepared, drinks were good and service was outstanding. Look forward to going again.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe both ordered the TastingWe both ordered the Tasting Menu which is worth the money! Everything on that Tasting Menu was delicious. The most memorable was the cod fish... so buttery!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCarbs were my favoriteThe lobster mashed potatoes and corn bread muffins were yummy! My halibut was good too but not as good as the carbs6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDate night at American FishIn placing our reservation through OpenTable, I noted that this was a special date ( my wife and I have 3 kids and really wanted a special 'date night') - the Hostess was discreet n acknowledging my request and gave us several options for seating. Our server was engaging, knowlegable and ably assisted us with our menu selections. His suggestions made our night that much more enjoyable.
Christina the Sommelier steered us in a direction I would not otherwise have gone and completely enhanced our meal.
The creativity and cooking perfection of the culinary team, along with the timing of the servers, made the entire experience perfect for us.
We will return!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA Special PlaceSerious food in a not-so-serious town, from a respected chef. My only complaint -- the tables inside the very large booths are so wide that I almost had to shout to be heard -- and we were just two people. But that's minor; this is a superior dining experience.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA+++++Had a great time and wonderful meal! Our waiter was fantastic! He definitely wanted to be sure that we had the very best experience!!! Our waiter was fantastic! He definitely wanted to be sure that we had the very best experience!!! We were in Vegas for our 10th anniversary and we have recommended you to some of our friends that will be visiting Vegas next week for work. One minor mess up on one of our meals but it was PROMPTLY taken care of and the manager came by two or three times to check on us and was very kind. Another point that I would like to make is that the staff was very mindful of our time, as we were trying to make a show. Will definitely recommend American Fish to any friends or family visiting Las Vegas!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMdelicious food paired w/ A+ serviceI was in Vegas for four nights and went out to nice dinners for all four of them. This was my favorite one. The food was delicious. My wife and I kept trading our plates because we liked everything they were serving. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. I will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Vegas.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGood ExperienceFood especially sea food was great. 1 or 2 orders weren't as good as we thought. Prices are high - minimum of $30. Quality of service was very good except that we were asked to pick a table and then they had to clean the table we picked (which was the only available for our group) and ended up waiting for 10 minutes. Good wine choices. Ambience was very good. Food was mostly tasty. Few items like crawfish hush puppies & Tuna was not very good. But again prices are high and it could be less. We were made to feel comfortable and the staff kept an eye on us to see if we were doing fine. It was easy to reserve through open table.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough we did not orderAlthough we did not order lobster, the people next to us did and the presentation was great. We will try that the next time we go there.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of America's bestSeafood places come in many versions--from crab shacks and fish and chips to very sophisticated cuisine. Without any level of pretense, this is one of the latter. Just perfect preparation in a relatively quiet space away from the casino floor. A superb wine list with surprisingly moderate prices and low key but thoroughly professional service. Just don't know what else I could ask for in a high-end, quality restaurant. Even the locals swear by it, and they're not wrong!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent RestaurantThere is nothing to complain. Wonderfull food and cocktails and very good Service. It might be a little to dark in the room. But for sure I will come back!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMuch ImprovedOver the years, the food has been pretty good, but the service was pretty ordinary. Under the leadership of the new general manager, Roberto, everything is much improved.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal in LVDon't miss having AF on your list. We ate at Botero, il Mulino, Craftsteak and American Fish on this trip and AF was the best and the most visually interesting.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMKiller PlaceThis place is great!!! The appetizers themselves can do you in! But wait, the entrees themselves will make you tap. The Halibut was so good! (that's why I go fishing...just for the Halibut) The place was packed but the reservation helped...seated half and hour later. This is the place to go if you want really fresh seafood!!!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBeef better at American FishIt was the best meal I had during my stay. But also the most expensive! The dining room has an open kitchen with a view of the grill. Interesting to see the food being prepared but the glass separating you from the fire doesn't keep out the heat! Dress lightly!
Hubs had the Rib Eye. IT.WAS.TO.DIE.FOR. I had the Wreckfish. Very good. Steak won the day. We also had "gratin tops"-- the BEST part of the potatoes au gratin--the crispy, salty, cheesy top part.
Our waiter seemed a little frantic, but I think that was just his batty-Frenchman charm at work. He gave us his waiter spiel twice having forgot the first time. Other reviewers complained about service. Service wasn't overly attentive, but I kind of like being left alone at a restaurant.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Michael Mina GemSuch a great night! Our waiter was well-prepared with recommendations (although the salt-crusted snapper was sadly sold out) - and we took much of the advice. Starting with a BLTA salad (featuring 3 wedges and very thick bacon and avocado slices (and heirloom tomatoes), it was a good beginning. My girlfriend splurged on the Lobster Pot Pie (a Mina staple that comes in at Market Price) and she could not have been happier. I had the Bacon-Wrapped Trout, and it was very tasty. It came with a white bean casserole - so we certainly didn't need the Lobster Mashed Potatoes we added as a side - we had plenty of food without it. Loved this place and would return in a heartbeat - as we LOVE all of the Mina places at which we have eaten.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFANTASTIC SERVICE! Great foodFANTASTIC SERVICE! Great food and pleasant atmosphere. Nelson our waiter was spectacular5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFish SuperbThe sea bass is exceptional. The wine pairing should be a must with your meal. The service was absolutely outstanding. My wife and I highly recommend American Fish for an outstanding seafood dinner.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Romance! We truly enjoyed our anniversary dinner at American Fish - Aria - MGM Resorts. Excellent service, food, and wine. Thanks for a lovely evening.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMvery nice experience -- fishvery nice experience -- fish and chips, using sole, was excellent5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to its fine reputationImaginative, well prepared dishes, excellent service. Expensive sides are necessary as many dishes have no accompaniment.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SeafoodFood was very good, but I felt it was a little too pricey. They have a glass wall which allows you to look into the kitchen. Our table was right next to the wall where they had a fired wood grill burning. Even thru the glass we could feel the heat. I was a little uncomfortable due to the heat, but the rest of my party enjoyed the warmth.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfully PresentedAn open and airy atmosphere that includes a modern twist on decor and efficiently using time tested materials in and out of the kitchen. Wood fired grills are used for most dishes, yet each entree had a distinctly different flavor. Everything was prepared and seasoned perfectly that included a beet salad, foie gras/ scallops, ahi tuna, black cod and complimented with a cheese/truffle/macaroni side dish.
The bar prepared a great martini, but the wine selection needs help as it fails to keep pace with the food, both in style and selection.
You won't be disappointed in the meal, just do not expect to fine that special wine to accompany the meal.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAmerican Fish is a beautifulAmerican Fish is a beautiful and lively restaurant. We very good food and excellent service there and would recommend it to others. The menu has fish that you will recognize and some that you may have never tried before as well as several seafood shellfish selections. The corn muffins in the bread basket were delicious and the bread was good too, served with both butter and a delicious olive oil. We didn't try dessert--too full from the rest of the meal, but the selections were interesting and very tempting. Good choice if you are in Vegas, and particularly if you are going to see Zarkana, the Cirque du Soleil show in the Aria hotel and casino.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu was recently changedThe menu was recently changed by the chef. Items advertised by Aria on their TV network (since American Fish is inside their Hotel) was no longer available. The staff and management were very apologetic about this. They even offered us free desert for the confusion.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AM5 Star Dining, A cut above the restThis was our first visit to American Fish. This has to be the best dining experience we have ever had. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The staff was aware of our celebration upon arrival and took extra care to to make our evening special. Our desert plates even had Happy Anniversary written on them. From the complimentary fish tostada samples to the complimentary desert wine, the Biancospino Moscato D'Asti, it was a beautiful evening with 5 star food and service.
The food was outstanding. The fish was very fresh, the sides were incredible, and the wines were exquisite.
This was our firs of what will be many visits to this restaurant.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGood stuff! This was our first time to American Fish. We really enjoyed it. Great selection of seafood at reasonable prices. We ordered a nice bottle of wine that was around $100 and our bill came to $240-ish. including tip.
Atmosphere was nice and decor was really unique!
I had their fish and chips (best I've ever eaten) and my wife had swordfish which she said was fabulous. Generous portions. I would recommend American Fish as a great place for dinner. Perfect for a date, or for a family.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSeafood and steaks at a mega resortExcellent service and food at this Michael Mina restaurant at Aria Las Vegas. The menu is similar to Michal Mina at Bellagio. the lobster pot pie is superb. The vibe is different at this restaurant. Much more energetic than the Bellagio version. the huge open kitchen is entertaining. Great food; but, bring lots of money!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, but was disappointedVery good, but was disappointed with the portion size. Had Grouper and it was a very tiny portion at a premium price. If you are hungry, I would order something else.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have eaten here before,We have eaten here before, the last time about a year ago. The menu has changed since then and some of the items we particularly enjoyed previously are no longer on the menu. We consider the earlier visit to have been better than the latest one.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place hands down is trulyThis place hands down is truly worth the money. The service is impeccable the food is amazing, excellent service. ch4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Don't MissGreat place. Decor, ambiance, all really good. Lot's of good restaurants in Vegas, but don't miss this one. 2 people in our group had the lobster pot pie and said it was one of the best meals they have ever had.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPre Zarkana DinnerMy two sisters, my mother and me had a quiet and very tasty dinner. Our hostess was sweet and quite a photographer, since she was happy to take several pictures of us! We all shared the Maryland blue crab cake and field greens. I had the Bacon-wrapped rainbow trout, one sister had the California halibut and mom and the other sister had the phyllo crusted cod fish & chips, all of which were outstanding. I particularly enjoyed my white beans with pulled pork and corn bread, it went along very well with my trout. We also ordered the asparagus and broccolini. We did save some room for dessert and ordered a sampler of 4: Chocolate peanut butter torte, mascarpone cheesecake, strawberry shortcake with basil gelato and the white chocolate4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a lovely time diningI had a lovely time dining solo at this restaurant. The food & service were excellent. I highly recommend this place.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLobster Pot PieThe Lobster pot pie is a must try, along with
The field greens salad.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI only wish I could affordI only wish I could afford o try more on the menu. The crab cakes were incredible and the main (fish baked in salt) was so delicate and moist that I was left wanting more.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper meal, super serviceSuper meal, super service will go again soon!!
Recommend the Lobster Rolls, Black Cod and Mac n Cheese.....crazy good...super wine list
Looking forward to going back for the Lobster Pot Pie!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMUnfortunately, even thoughUnfortunately, even though we were there for early dinner, they never gave us the "early bird" prix fixe menu.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I went forMy husband and I went for supper, and it was wonderful. Friendly staff, service was excellent and best of all the food was amazing! Oysters for starters were very fresh and flavorful. The crab cake and the lobster roll were both full of flavor. In fact my husband said it was the best he'd eaten anywhere. Our entrees were amazing, he had the seafood coppinio and said it was full of different seafoods and fish and that the broth was incredible. My halibut was grilled over the fire, and I had a green salad with it. I have to say, the halibut had an addicting flavor cooked over that wood, and the salad was the perfect compliment to it. I enjoyed every bite. Dessert was peanut butter and chocolate cake with Carmel crunch Yum!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOH MY!!!!!! The lobster potOH MY!!!!!! The lobster pot pie....off the hook!!

Lobster roll appetizer and the fish and chips were outstanding. Service was as expected, very good for a high end restaurant, but not perfect.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNew menu and new managementNew menu and new management are a great improvement. We wish to thank the entire staff and crew and our compliments to the chef3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the Shellfish platter,We had the Shellfish platter, Halibut, Sea Bass, Asparagus, and Hushpuppies. The Hushpuppies were too dry and we would not recommend them. Everything else was outstanding. On the shellfish platter everything that was cooked was cooked perfectly to be done but not cooked so much as too get tough. The Hailibut and Sea Bass were amazing. Moist on the inside with a slight char on the outside. The skin on the Sea Bass was perfectly crisped without drying out the inside of the fish. Best cooked pieces of fish that we have ever had.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is always top notch. The food is always top notch.
