Diner Reviews
  • "In a city with SO many choices for fine dining, American Fish is very good, but certainly not the best. My wife and I were there for our wedding anniversary and received a complimentary dollop of berry sorbet on a plate with a printed card reading "Happy Anniversary." Nice, but not as "heart-felt" as other places we've been to in Las Vegas for anniversary celebrations. Also, I don't know what the designers were thinking, but the restaurant is up on the second floor of the Aria -- a bit out of the way."

  • "Fantastic, fresh, perfect dinner. Fish tasted like it just jumped out of the sea, via the kitchen, and onto my plate. Took friends there for dinner and the atmosphere provided for great conversation fueled by excellent food. The sommelier suggested an excellent bottle of wine to pair with our dinner."

  • "Expected more from a Michael Minna restaurant. Nothing memorable at all."

  • "One of the best seafood places in Vegas. I had the pleasure of tasting their Crab cakes, lobster pot pie and scallops and all the dishes were amazing."

  • "Really loud and not romantic. Great fish over priced even by Vegas standards we felt. VERY limited overpriced wine list."

  • "After reading so many reviews where people were complaining about loud music, slow service, etc., I was a little worried. But a co-worker recommended American Fish to me so I had to check it out. I am glad we did, because we really enjoyed it. The music was great (and not too loud.) The service wasn't super-fast, but our server (Nezha) was very nice and very helpful in describing the dishes for us and helping us choose. The portions are on the diminutive side, but the food is AWESOME! It's too bad they're closing in July to retool for Michael Mina's new French themed restaurant (still with plenty of seafood, they say) because I would definitely go back to American Fish."

  • "This was a wonderful place. The food was outstanding as well as the service. Our waiter recommended the cod and it was very good. We did hear that they are changing over to a French theme, to bad because it is hard to find a good seafood place."

  • "Server Nicholas was rude and unattentive. Fish was slimmy and uncooked."

  • "My wife and I ate here before Zarkana. We were hoping for a quiet, romantic dinner. We get a booth in the back, so it looks promising at first. But casino noise, restaurant noise and music is so loud we cannot hear to carry on a conversation across the table. The food and service, however, met our expectations. Great flavors and nice portions. Attentive, but not perfect service. Definitely close to many of our five star rated experiences. Worth a visit, but take a table to have less noise from adjacent tables. "

  • "We went to American Fish to celebrate a bday. We were recommended the lobster pot pie which at market price it was $85. Let me tell you, it was worth every penny and then some. It was the best meal I have ever had. We had some oysters as an app, and a few glasses of wine to accompany the meal- delicious. The lobster pot pie was served table side and was enough for 2 people. If you go to American Fish- splurge a little and get the lobster pot pie! To die for. The service was excellent as well and food came out quickly. Would definitely go back for a special occasion."

  • "While visiting Las Vegas, we wanted a quality fish dinner and frankly were overwhelmed with the high quality of service, ambiance and food. What a find! We go to Las Vegas several times a year and will definitely stop back at American Fish - Aria."

  • "These types of restaurants are 'special occasion' evenings for us (before a show, anniversary etc) so the pricing is higher than our normal nights out, but not considered extravagant. That being said, the soup and salad were delicious, entrees were tasty and portions decent. Don't skip the additional side orders as what comes on the plate with the entree is a 'taste' only, try the lobster whipped mashed or truffle mac and cheese."

  • "I'll be brief because I do not like ripping people but 50 minutes to get an appititzer, an hour and 15 to get our food is crazy when we made it very clear to the server we where very hungry. The place was not full and after he took the orders he only came back to the table once. The manager did take the apps off the bill, and the food is quite good but service ruined our night"

  • "Extremely noisy. Several large tables who all felt compelled to scream to be heard"

  • "Good food, but very expensive. Poor selection of wines by the glass and ridiculously priced. Waited 20 minutes for some bread. Asked for it 3 times."

  • "Aftet leaving the casino floor, was looking for a quieter spot. This restauant is very noisy. The almon was very good but the red snapper was questionable."

  • "The food, service, and atmosphere were amazing. We had the grand seafood platter, grilled grouper, and a side of brussel sprouts. Our waiter, Valentino, was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our experience absolutely outstanding. Thank you!!"

  • "We are early due to flying out and the dining area was empty on Tuesday. 3 groups at the bar so we decided to sit there. Awesome happy hour bar menu. Lovely waitress. Out of the way location but well worth it"

  • "We greatly enjoyed our dining experience at American Fish. The food was excellent, the timing was perfect, and all of us were very satisfied. Scott, our sommelier, was on top of his game with his wine selections for us. He was informative and was ever present at our table! A great resurant selection!"

  • "An early Saturday evening reservation and there was already a great vibe. Service is outstanding and you are greeted warmly. We had happy hour cocktails for 7 dollars...wow.. In the lounge first. Best French Martini ever. We sat down around 7pm, we had the tasting menu at 89 dollars, excellent value. There was also an early evening menu for 49 dollars. Each course was presented well. Service attentive but not intrusive throughout. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned for happy hour and ate small plates in the lounge with cocktails a few days later. "

  • "I ordered the Lobster Roll and was very disappointed....I didn't know it was going to have Mayo etc and the Server did not explain. The Tomato soup was OK....my husband got the Salmon and he is allergic to corn and they had that as a garnish and did not note that in the Menu. Had been last year and liked it - doubt I would go back based on this experience"

  • "This restaurant has great potential (though I hear it is closing in a few months) but did not live up to it for our large party. The food was good but the service was lacking. The only time they came around was to see if we would like another $150 bottle of wine. We literally had to call people over twice to clear our plates. And the food service was slow and inattentive. With as much as we spent, they should have been all over us. I don't really blame the wait staff who seemed overwhelmed. Charge those prices---bring on more staff. "

  • "Seafood was delicious . Waiter very knowledgable about oysters and sake. Meal portions were perfect, not huge , which made the meal more appealing , not humongous like many restaurants in the US like to serve. We had a great table with a view of the kitchen."

  • "Great for tourists who don't mind being overcharged. Not so great for locals who go to the strip on a night on the town. Food not especially that well prepared! Probably will not come back again or recommend to my friends."

  • "Took my mom here for her birthday dinner and staff did an amazing job keeping surprises a secret for her and also accomodating all of our requests to make her birthday special. Food was fantastic...all of it, even the bread at the start. Service was great, overall, a great spot for a nice dinner in Las Vegas!"

  • "It was a great meal and wonderful service! The waitress made sure we were out on time for our show later in the evening. When in discussion as to why we were in Vegas we mentioned it was my birthday and they surprised me with a happy birthday sorbet!"

  • "This was our second trip here. This time we tried the Chef's tasting menu with wine paring. Everything from start to finish was fantastic including the wine pairings. I'd recommend this to anyone seeking a special dining experience. We were celebrating a birthday so it was great to place a quick order than wait for the food and wine to start coming to our table."
