A word from American Cut - Revel Casino
American Cut is Iron Chef Marc Forgione’s take on the modern American Steakhouse. The dark wood and leather banquettes of the main dining room lend to the space's edgy vibe amplified by sexy and soulful rock and roll, and large windows allow for stunning ocean views. Energy exudes from the open kitchen where guests might catch a glimpse of Chef Forgione preparing some of his signature fare including his take on the ultimate surf and turf, succulent Tomahawk Rib Eye Chop and Chili Lobster.Continued

  • "Honestly I did not know what to expect when I made the reservations. The ambience was very romantic and the food was excellent. I would go back again. I was starving when I arrived but the service was quiet and I was very happy about that."

  • "The 28 day dry aged steak I had was a little tough. I was expecting it to melt in my mouth so needless to day I was disappointed. The bread was great but Tgi Fridays wedge salad is better than theirs."

  • "Our waiter was great. Steak was OK. Wasn't cooked the way I wanted it so I had to give it back the second time. Also, hostess wasn't too friendly. Didn't get a good vibe from her. Restaurant was temperature was hot, it got cooler later."

  • "My husband and I dined at American Cut and the food was absolutely delicious and the service was very good. Definitely worth it!"

  • "The meal was expensive - but no more so than any other steakhouse you'd visit in Atlantic City. That aside, the food was phenomenal! It has creativity added to the basics, the service is fantastic, and the restaurant is nice."

  • "Prices are VERY HIGH and the quality of the food does NOT warrant it. We had a Prime Rib Special that you can get elsewhere in town at 1/2 the price and that was the Special. On the regular menu the average steak was over $50. So my suggestion would be Don't bring your appetite, but definitely BRING YOUR WALLET!"

  • "I have had some really amazing steak dinners in my life, and this one definitely made the top three. Everything was incredible."

  • "There are people who go out to explore food, and people who go out to restaurants by what they think that place represents. It's an Iron chef restaurant. But this is a steak house. The dry aged beef had little character, and the "crust" they char in masked any actual flavor / character of the dry age beef. The steak sauce was so strong that even the slightest dip.. and it was the only flavor you taste. The appies prior were good, but not great. The wine list was extensive, but pricy for the selection. Its a $200+ check. And Azure across the hall is fit for a foodies. The staff / service was indeed top notch, they are worthy of praise. This is another Capitol Grille / Ruth Chris - and if you think dinner = steak... this is for you."

  • "Fine steak house . American Cut has an extensive menu, with selections for non-meat eaters. The service was swift, efficient, and friendly. A tad expensive ( sides are extra ) but the quality and portion size are exceptional. American Cut at the Revel is a must."

  • "We went on a Friday 8 pm. The restaurant was almost empy, Not a good sign to begin with. Anyway, they sat us right next to another couple when there we're open tables. The menu has a lot to be desired. It is not typical steak house food - We decided on the oysters. Bad choice. Baked BBQ oysters are not tasty They're gross. The steaks we're good, we both had the 10 ounce filet. But the twice baked potato came as 3 halves of a skinny potatoes stood upright in a metal baking dish with a hardened top of cheese and scallions. The music was way too loud and it was like 80s hard rock. Our waiter was very attentive so there's that... I would skip this place - there's a steakhouse in every hotel so pick any other."

  • "Dining at American Cut is always a real treat. The beautiful room, friendly service, and delicious food all combine for a wonderful evening. There are really a number of creative dishes here and all our most delicious. The appetizers are just wonderful, dishes that you'll never see anywhere else. The shrimp cocktail is absolutely exquisite, I wouldn't miss it here, and it's the first time in years that I have actually enjoyed it. The black bacon, the oysters, the various salads, and the grilled octopus are all special favorites of mine. my wife enjoys all of the wonderful cuts of meat cooked to perfection, and, for me, the seafood is spectacular. Incredible wine cellar exists to complement your meal and the desserts are truly magnificent."

  • "The steak for two is $135.00 and i couldn't cut through the vein with my knife so forget about chewing it . The waiter brought us the wrong appetizer and did nothing about it .and that's just the beginning . I have been to the one in NYC a couple time and it is by far one of the best restaurants I have been to . But I would never go to the one in Atlantic City again"

  • "So me and my girlfriend came here to celebrate our two year anniversary in Revel. We always hear about American Cut but never seamed to find the time to go so this time around we made it a point to go. Well best choice we made except for her saying she'll be my girlfriend HAHA. We both got filet mignon, she got the potato puree (mashed potato) and i got the Kennebec Fries. WOW!! The steak was perfectly crisped on the outside and the inside so tender and juciy! The staff is great too, We were waiting for our steak for quiet a while, but we were just chatting enjoying our drinks, no complaining because we understand meat takes a little but to cook. So the manager comes up to us to apoligize for the wait and gives us a round of drinks on him!!"

  • "Went here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. From the bread and vegetable butter (maybe even cream cheese?) to start - the bread was warm and buttery and absolutely delicious. For apps, I finally got to try bone marrow and it was rich and buttery and topped with escargot. The Caesar salad was the best I've ever had and uniquely prepared tableside. We tried the Eastern Seabord and Basil Smash cocktails and both were delicious. Steaks were perfectly cooked and sooooo tender. The bernaise sauce was outstanding and my husband topped his steak with spicy lobster which had just the right kick and was perfectly cooked. We had the candy bar cake for dessert and it was divine! I will def. be planning a trip to the location in NYC!"

  • "The only thing that was good was the service but as expensive as it was the service shoulod be good. Wine was awful....could not drink it and tried a few different ones. The food was very salty and was very disappointing."

  • "I was expecting more from an Iron Chef. We got the tomahawk rib eye with chili lobster for 2. The steak was just ok. The lobster was good. The side dishes were decent. Our appetizer was bacon & it may have been the best bacon I've ever had. The cracker jack sundae for dessert was really good. Our waiter was very nice & helpful. Don't think I'll go back...maybe just for bacon."

  • "We were fortunate to be away all winter, but, it was wonderful to be back at American Cut. Anthony DePaul was on hand, as always, to greet guests and insure the highest stands of fine dining. The room is beautiful, the service always perfect, and, the food is just delicious. I am often reminded of the storied Steak House at Disneyland by comparison. This evening we dined, once again, in the highest fashion. Delicious wine followed a terrific cocktail, then grill fired octopus was joined by the best shrimp cocktail I have ever tasted. My wife treated herself to a sumptuous prime rib, half of which had to be brought home, and, my choice was a superb salmon, prepared just to my taste, accompanied by a twice baked potato . Simply great!"

  • "Food was fair. Ordered 14oz NY Strip black & blue served rare not charred enough for my taste. Server unattentive and no personality. Hostess sat us directly behind another party of 2 when the entire section was available. No table check from management. An unimpressive restaurant. Revel should have a better restaurant in their property."

  • "Waiter was very good. They have a whole long wall of wine and a huge book to choose it from so if ur a connisuer -go. We had filet, huge cut of lamb- both awesomely crusted, twice baked potatos (sides are priced sep) and one of the house specialty drinks in a copper mug. It was like a mohito with a spicy kick for 14. Bill was $133."

  • "This was a good restaurant for a decent steak and good bottle of wine. Lots of sides to choose from on the menu, however, everything was a bit more seasoned than I would have liked. We got the surf and turf combo. All in all the meal was quite good and service comparable. The noise level was a bit loud but it is Atlantic City so don't expect a quiet romantic setting. Cocktails before dinner were decent, but again, a bit too exotic on the ingredients for my taste."

  • "We were seated in the bar area for dinner which I did not care for. Awkward booths and chairs. Place was very busy and the service suffered because of it. Very fun and energetic atmosphere. The food was very well prepared. Meal starts off with "everything" biscuits served with compound butter. Warm and flavorful and the compound butter takes it to the next level. My fiance and I both had the filet and split a side of mashed potatoes. The steaks were perfectly cooked with a nice char on the outside. Do yourself a favor and top each of the steaks with bacon....Amazing. The creamy mashed potatoes may have been the best I have ever had. For dessert we had pine apple sorbet and candy bar cake. Both were phenomical. Impressive wine list as well."

  • "I came with my wife and 2 yr old daughter, obviously this isn't a place for children on a consistent basis, however, the service was superior. Thank you."

  • "We have been to American Cut a few times, and it never disappoints! The only thing I would say could use some improvement is the variety of appetizers. I always get the Bacon, which is great. My daughter and I shared the porterhouse for 2, and it was cooked perfectly. Desserts, again, the hightlight of the meal. I had the Cracker Jack sundae, which was excellent- wife had the AC Car Bomb, which is her favorite dessert anywhere! Daughter had the chocolate cake with espresso buttercream icing- loved it. I would highly recommend American Cut to anyone looking for a great place to eat in AC."

  • "We came in for Restaurant Week for dinner, this was our first time at the restaurant. We were a little hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews and hearing mixed feedback from friends and co-workers. We ordered the Caesar salad and the Bacon, Schaller and Weber. They were both amazing. For dinner we both ordered the 10oz filet, it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Steak sauce was not needed. We ordered the specials that were on the dessert menu, a cheesecake and a candy bar cake, and they were both amazing. We had such an amazing dinner and night that we cannot wait to go back! We highly recommend!"

  • "Nice looking place, with good service, except for the ten minute wait when I had reserved time! The problem was the steak was not very good. Got the Bone in Ribeye, and my girlfriend got a NY strip, and booth were not tasteful or juicy! Waitress was great! Won't be back!"

  • "My husband and I went on a Friday night. It really wasn't bad, but I just wasn't impressed. If you are a fervent steak-eater, and have been to the classic type of NYC steak joints (Peter Luger, Smith & Wollensky, Palm, Old Homestead), then you will not be impressed either. The best part of the meal was the steak - Black & Blue strips served right - but the place is just too "hipster-trendy" (probably since its in Revel). It's trying too hard to put new spins on classic dishes, like potatoes and spinach. The wine list was impressive though. If you're in the mood for excellent steak, in the classic sense, go to Morton's or Palm. I wouldn't bother with this spot."
