Food was very disappointing. Steak was burnt and had lumps of salt all over it. The broccolini was just weird. Again very salty but even without that the combination of flavours was just bizarre. The dry aged potatoes were again very salty. 1 course, a bottle of wine and tip came to $220, not exactly value for money. Having said that the service was very good and the restaurant was busy with a decent atmosphere.

We showed up to this restaurant at 9:15PM for a 9:30 reservation. No problem! We were seated immediately on a somewhat "wet" Wednesday night. Despite the lousy weather, the place was pretty crowded. Mostly males with a handful of gorgeous females. Lots of suits, no one was wearing sneakers and everyone was sipping on whiskey. The NY Cut steak and the chilli lobster are to die for!

we were frequent customers of Trattoria Cinque (restaurant before American Cut) and we were pleasantly surprised at the decor of the restaurant. We are also huge fans of Forge so we knew the food would be great! Fun place to go as a couple or a night out with friends. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were fantastic!

Once again, American Cut lives up to its hype. Although, it seems the crowd has died down, the dining room and private rooms were still packed. Had (for the 3rd time) the Surf and Turf. It was presented a little messier this time but still full of flavor. Apps were spot on but the Broccolini was no where near what I would have expeted being too wilted and way too salty. Can't beat the chic decor and atmosphere and will eventually return for a boys night out dinner. The Bacon Apple Boom cocktail was a good recommendation from the bar (and I am not a cocktail guy by any means) but a good refreshing drink. Amerone wine was a heavy full bodied wine but paired nicely with out S&T. If you're into trying a new style of steak, make this your place.

Fantastic restaurant. Upon entering we were promptly greeted and ushered to our requested table near the bar. It was a fellas night out so we wanted to be in eyesight of all the happenings. Our wait staff were friendly and added to the experience. The food was really good, my NY strip was a little more done than medium but was still very flavorful. The others in our group had filet and chicken, all without complaints. Please note: the drinks here are stout! (Not a bad thing at all!) so be careful, cobblestones and tipsy aren't the best look always! We will definitely be back!

This was my first time at American Cut, and I was very happy with the overall experience. Most outstanding to me was the service. We had the porterhouse for two, a rib eye and the lamb for the table. Porterhouse was cooked perfectly, the meat itself was good but not great. I didnt enjoy the lamb that much (but im not too big on lamb) the rest of the table seemed to really enjoy the flavor. Drinks were great (expensive, but expected). deserts were excellent. The manager and head hostess came around periodically to check on us. Really appreciated the service. I'll be back to American Cut at some point in the near future.

To start, we were recommended a wine to match our dining choices. He was right on. The wine was perfect. The steak tar tar was top notch. The pastrami spice rubbed steak was one of the best I've had. I topped it with foi gras to add some extra decadence. The pop corn ice cream sundae sounded weird but it was really delicious. I'm craving it now and will definitely make the trek back to Tribeca and dine there again.

Very impressive. On my opentable rez, I noted that the dinner was for my boyfriends birthday. Upon arrival, we sat at the bar and were immediately given complimentary champagne without a word. So impressed and thoughtful! Bartender was amazing and friendly, and killer at his job. Food was amazing, the porterhouse for 2, cauliflower, and spinach was to die for. Cooked a perfect med rare.

American cut was recommended to me by a foodie friend. It was fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The food was amazing. We loved everything we ordered. We also had drinks at the bar before and ordered speciality cocktails which were unique and amazing too. The bar was a bit dark but was a nice spot as well. We will be back again.

Empty on a Frid night at 7:30 in Aug 2014 Tons of seating and no one there. They had a great wine list, great enough to order something interesting, but wasn't overly long. the table ordered raw oysters, lobt chili, and a special veggie dish. All were good in their own right, but nothing over spectacular. the entrees were two NY Strips, 1 ribeye, and I Japanese Wagyu....everyone at the table said their steaks were over cooked...I was terribly disappointed. I was looking forward to the part of the evening only to have a medium steak, when I ordered Rare-Med Rare. Sides included potatoes, brocolli and mushrooms. they were all pretty good, but nothing blew me out of the water. Overall this place is average, would I come back? Not anytime soon.

We were in NYC on a "Dining" vacation and this was the BEST spot we tried all week! The craft cocktail menu was very impressive and we enjoyed watching the bartender make all of the delicious libations. The Smoked Old Fashion was the group favorite! We absolutely loved dinner and could not pick a favorite item! We brought a big group back for drinks and dessert the next night because the dessert menu looked so good. It was amazing!

American Cut is a great take on a classic steakhouse in a refined setting with a great selection of meats and accompanying sauce options. The hangar steak with the chimichurri sauce was exceptional and understand that it is one of Chef Forgione's favorites. The interior is pleasant with comfortable seating mixed between booths and tables. While in the area don't forget to try Chef Forgione's name sake restaurant (Marc Forgione) and order the chili lobster and his Laos themed partner restaurant Khe-Yo.

4th visit and progressively not impressing as much. The steak was a little overcooked on the edges and under cooked in the center and the portion size was well down from previous visits yet the prices seem to be getting higher. Wait staff seem focused on pushing additional food and drinks (appetizers, wine, desserts etc.). I hope the trend doesn't continue as my first two visits were very memorable.

Walked up the stairs to the restaurant to be met by two patrons clearly intoxicated drinking on the terrace right in front of the door who became obnoxious and loud when we said "excuse me" to pass by to open the front door. We told the hostess who gave the appearance of concern. Five minutes later, the hostess sat those same obnoxious people two booths away from us. I discretely stood up and spoke with the hostess re. the clearly uncomfortable situation and she said "I thought that was a safe distance but you can speak to someone else about it." I had to stand up a second time to hunt down our server. I was asked to stand up during my meal so the staff could bring a chair through the dining room. The food was like airport quality at best.

Simply put, a fantastic steakhouse in a city full of great steakhouses. The porterhouse was cooked perfectly and served with a bone marrow reduction (which, needless to say, you won't find at your standard steakhouse) and a homemade steak sauce, both of which were terrific. The sides were also out of this world - apple potato latkes and a glazed carrot that was unlike anything else I had ever tasted. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and explained everything in perfect detail. Kudos to everyone for a great dining experience, looking forward to returning!

Everything was wonderful. Waiter gave great wine suggestions and I ended up with something I very much enjoyed. Food was delicious, I ordered the filet mignon cooked to perfection and the dessert was a flourless chocolate cake with peanut ice cream so delicious and rich I couldn't even finish it. Perfect for any kind of business meeting, certainly a boys club but I did not feel uncomfortable in any way. If you want to spend for a special occasion I highly recommend. The staff was amazing.

Very nice rest with good service. But the food does not live up to the prices charged. The $135 rib steak for 2 was the most overpriced steak I have ever eaten in nyc. Wine list is also not for the faint of heart. If you are using a company charge card or just won the lottery you should come and try it once. otherwise there are a lot better steakhouses in nyc.

None of our party of three was especially wowed by American Cut. The food was just ok as was the service. I did not care for the atmosphere - too flashy, too loud, and too cold. The ventilation system blew cold air directly on me, and when I asked a server about it, no offer was made to change our table. One of the appetizers, a crab cake, was only lukewarm. Not recommended.
