The price was reasonable for French food -- especially for NYC which I complain about a lot. Space is limited so I would recommend making dinner reservations, even if it is just for two. The food was outstanding - I shared a variety of orders with my family including steak, duck, frites, the warm goat cheese ball, escargot, creme brûlée, and more. Everything was cooked to perfection and the sauces on the meats were fabulous. The feel of the restaurant wasn't my favorite and isn't very kid - friendly, but it is ideal for a young hip crowd. Amelie was is without-a-doubt one of my favorite restaurants and now I eat there almost every time I go to the city. Went for happy hour and enjoyed wine flights on a Sunday evening (5:30pm). Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Live jazz music was very good. Crowd was lively. Food is more small plates, which make a perfect match with wine. Best part, three glasses of wine for $10! Definitely recommend. It is VERY LOUD and seating is VERY CLOSE. This was our last nite in NYC and this is what we were looking for. They have a fabulous wine list by the glass. They also have great wine glasses and they give you a huge pour. We had the fois gras pate for an appetizer and our friends had the stuffed dates. Stuffed dates? Sounds weird. They were YUMMY! We all had the filet mignon for dinner. It was fabulous. We all thought it was our best meal of the trip. The food was fantastic, tons of flavor & everything we ordered was delicious! The service was friendly and VERY accommodating. The wines are good and decently priced and everything we ate was very very tasty. Last tim,e we had the raviolis which were quite very heavy but very delicious, delicious fresh oysters, equally delicious salads (Amelia and the smoked salmon salad) and very good ceviche. Friday night is pretty crowded but it's Friday night, what can you expect. The atmosphere is pretty nice too, the music not too loud.
