AmbrosiaCan't wait to go back!!!!!I love this place!!! Great food and decor. The steak kabobs and ribs are a must try! The portions are small but perfect for sharing. I will be back soon..the service was also fantastic.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food!!!I came here after reading the reviews on Open table, and I was not disappointed!!! Awesome spot, sort of hidden. Very quiet outside, but then you open the door and wow.. the nice decor, very welcoming, warm, just a great spot. By the way I just booked my Valentines Diner here.. very very cool date spot!!! The food is great! Very tasty, flavorful. It was nice to finally have something out of the ordinary! It reminds me of a few places I've seen in New York. Great music playing throughout the nite. We ordered 1 of everything on the menu, and ended up spending most of the night there. This place makes you want to hang-out.. To the people that opened this place in the neighborhood, GREAT JOB!!! Love it!!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall great experience.Overall great experience. Will definitely visit again.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Blissful Experience! EverythingA Blissful Experience! Everything we ordered was DELICIOUS....Ribs, Prawns, Papaya Salad w/ Pork Bellies, Samosas. We can't stop talking about this new find and are already planning our next visit.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe tiger prawns & lamb samosasThe tiger prawns & lamb samosas were quite good, as were the two desserts we tried, but our server Shannon was simply amazing. She definitely made our date night better! :)4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMCool spin on a tapas barThis is a fun place with a cool spin on tapas. The food is Asian/Indian accented and the plates are big enough to share. The drinks on the cocktail menu pack a little punch and are interesting combinations of flavor. The drinks are a bit pricey at 10.00 each. Also my husband asked for a Jack Daniels with ginger beer and this seemed to cause some confusion as waitress said she could do the Shere Khan but with Jack instead of tequila and no orange juice. why not just Jack and Ginger beer? I think its so they can charge 10.00. Wine list could be a bit more expansive. too much Malbec which is trendy but kind of a sucky wine. Ribs were delish as was the mushroom flatbread and samosas. fun place, but not a good value.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb food - very interestingSuperb food - very interesting creations and fusion of flavors. Great drinks and desserts too. All for a very reasonable price. Not to mention the great ambiance and neighborhood feel of the restaurant. Ambrosia will soon be a star of the Houston Dining Scene.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMdate nightA small but interesting and varying menu; food was delicious. Small enough to be intimate, friendly service, all in all a great place for a date. Two can easily eat for around $35 plus drinks.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA Unique ExperienceWe went to Ambrosia for our Anniversary. It was the perfect place. The atmosphere was cool, modern and relaxing. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious.
This is a Asian fusion tapas style restaurant and there are about 10-12 items on the menu but we felt like the dishes were actually larger than most tapas style places. We had prawn, the ribs and the mushroom flatbread. All were unique. We will definitely be going back to try the other items we missed.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!Great place. This was our third time there. The service was a bit slow this time even though the waitresses were practically running the whole night. Perhaps they were short staffed.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNew to town and impressed! My honey and I had date night. We valeted ( tip only) and immediately were impressed with the place. Great location, kind of dim and had very nice staff. The restaurant was a little loud for our mood so we sat outside. It was so intimate & appropriately quiet- we felt as if we were on vacation. I would almost say the patio was tranquil. We ordered a Cabernet Syrah blend, shared 3 dishes. Towards the end of dinner my sweetheart said we should go back once a month. Haha. I recommended we try a few more places since we just moved to town. It was that good. We will definitely be back. * one more thing, when it says Asian inspired cuisine you should think more Indian-Asian. The spices are more mild than traditional Indian although evident. : )4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCurry Nite Tuesday - AwesomeGreat Food. Tuesday Nite is "Curry Nite" it was just fantastic. Some of the best curry I had in a long time. I think I will be going back every Tuesday for my fix. The drinks were great, the food was great... Alfonso took great care of us!! Definitely ask for him if you go there. We will be recommending this restaurant to everyone!!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMQuirky choice for a small groupThis is a great little restaurant with a fun concept for groups. Four of us were able to try almost everything on the small menu. Everything was tasty and varied. Service was also very good. The ambiance is simple and dark, but I thought it had a good vibe.
Just to clarify since the menu for this restaurant is not available online: The menu consists of two appetizers, ~8-10 "entrees", and two desserts. Everything is between $8-12. For our table of four, we ordered a total of 7 of the "entrees" and two desserts. The samosas, prawns, and kabobs seemed to be the favorites. The food comes out fast, so you should order more "sushi bar" style and order more as you go.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a great place toThis was a great place to discover. The take is quite unique and they've managed to pull it off very well. The food is amazing. The drinks are delicious and fun. If you're budget conscious this might not be the best place however you leave feeling properly satisfied for what you spend. It's not extravagant but expect with drinks and dinner to spend between $70-100 per couple. For my wife & I, it was all worth every penny. We highly recommend Ambrosia and hoep to see this place last a while. We look forward to going back multiple times.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLiked it a lot!!! We'll beLiked it a lot!!! We'll be back for the unique taste and flavors.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came for the spice factor. We came for the spice factor. We didn't get it, but the food was very flavorful. We tried the specialty drinks and were pleased. Our waitress was this cute blonde named Jenny. Very nice and prompt. Now for the food, we tried sausage flatbread, curry potatoes, ribs, chicken flatbread, shrimp, steak kebab and salad. The food is served tapas-style, so if you have a hearty appetite, you should order away. Everything was good. Will definitely return.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Tasty Fusion Menu!Very cute restaurant, delicious rotating menu. The drinks were interesting in their creation and the food was very tasty. The service was great and the staff very attentive. Hit the spot for a new Houston restaurant!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great, some veryFood was great, some very interesting drinks they have there.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMIt happens w/out fail everyIt happens w/out fail every time I walk into Ambrosia. My appetite automatically kicks in, anticipating the tantalizing and eclectic choices that await. What new creations will Chef Riks create this time? The lentil cakes with a spicy green sauce...off the menu was exceptional. This place continues to thrive with it's consistently flavorful food and drinks...true to it's name...Ambrosia truly does serve the food of the gods.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMIn love w/ Ambrosia! EachIn love w/ Ambrosia! Each dish was served in perfect portions and packed with flavor. Definitely a trendy hot-spot for early and late night diners. I had the seafood curry, tiger prawns, and papaya paneer salad this time..very tasty and authentic...I must say! I am no expert but my Asian family has exposed me to some good stuff and the food here is exceptionally tasty.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWOW!!!! We had a fabulousWOW!!!! We had a fabulous dinner just wish it were closer to home so we could go more often. There was not a bad thing on the menu.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique spot. Be preparedUnique spot. Be prepared - the food is spicy and has a kick to it. Other than the salads and veg appetizer,"side dishes" are limited. Be sure to order several different dishes to share and experience the flavors. A little expensive but great for a group or special occasion.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was amazing. OrderedThis place was amazing. Ordered the prawns which were sweet and fiery. Hubby enjoyed the ribs. Chicken samosas were full of flavor and spicy. Green mango salad was a refreshing accompaniment to all the spicy dishes. Ordered several of the specialty cocktails. All were sweet and tropical which paired well with the spicy dishes. Went around 7 on a Friday and wasn't very busy. Place is dim and sexy inside. There was a nice patio outside as well. Our server was helpful and attentive. Surprised at how quickly the food arrived.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWell worth taking a chance onWe kind of stumbled in blind! We had reservations, but had no preconceived idea about what to expect! We sat down and they handed us a piece of paper....we were looking for the menu!! The waitress explained that this restaurant is an Indian, Thai, Viet Namese tappas bar and that everything should be shared! We don't share well. The longer we looked at the menu, the more it unfolded to the possibilities for dinner!
The food was WONDERFUL!!! We would definitely go back3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Tasting Food!We visited Ambrosia this past weekend, not knowing what to expect.. I am glad we did, the food tasted so good, we came back the very next day for some more! The flatbreads they make taste so good!! I dont think I will be ordering pizza anymore. The steak kabob was something different, and their dessert kalhua kulfi was something I have never experienced before. Hands down to one of the most interesting and different restaurants in Houston. This place totally reminds me of environments in New York City!!
We will definitely spread the word and become coming back on a frequent basis.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI've become a regular hereI've become a regular here now :-) Had the Thai chicken and lamb curry this time. Both were so fragrant and fresh..not exaggerating but seriously tasted like one of those wonderful curry dishes you can find in the marketplaces and streets of Bangkok. Love this place!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFive stars all the way becauseFive stars all the way because this place consistently never disappoints! This time I tried a couple of new dishes. The beef kabobs and chili chicken pizza were phenomenal. One of the servers mentioned pop up Wed bar nights where they will be serving some interesting concoctions of cocktails. Can't wait!!! I am obsessed w/ Ambrosia and that is an understatement.3/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA playground for your senses...Wow - Ambrosia has an ambience so delightful that it would have five stars on that alone. But the FOOD... Incredible flavor!!! Perfect levels of heat and layered beautifully. Must try the 5 spice beef, Tiger shrimp, and the salad that comes with pork belly (or can be swapped with tofu). Do not... I repeat, DO NOT, leave without trying dessert. Heavenly.1/12/2013 12:00:00 AMa truly lovely little restauranta truly lovely little restaurant and something different-the small plates are family style for sharing-the menus is as small as the restaurant, however, each item is a delight-the sharing idea is wonderful as we got to taste 8 different things-not a single one disapppointed-the steak was delicious but it would be hard to choose the best--spicy exotic flavors in a lovely atmosphere-gracious and truly original-you have to look for the discreet sign-I intend to go back!!! It is a fusion dim sum with flavors from India--tiramisu: an odd entry with the atmosphere but very moist and full of flavor.1/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food! Cool PlaceAte there with 4 girlfriends.. Food was great! Scene was great! Service was good.. If you have any issues ask for Alfonso he will make sure your evening goes according to plan!
We tried the shrimp (very flavorful), the thai flat bread (amazing). But the most amazing thing i tried was the dessert! I have eaten ate various places in Houston and tried Kulfi, but never a Ginger or Kahlua, candied Pistachio, raspberry sake kulfi - one word amazing!!1/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA hidden treasureWow...this place is like a hidden treasure in the heart of the city. I loved everything about it. sexy ambience, flavorful food, friendly staff, and a very reasonably priced menu. So, I am not a rib person but the Gagnam ribs...muth watering and finger licking...they melted in my mouth like butter. The pork belly salad was pretty amazing too. Loved the salads too! This place is perfect for a romantic date and for big groups! They have 2 small intimate party rooms...looked pretty cozy. Will definitely be back for a girls night out :-)12/6/2012 12:00:00 AMTucked away on Lexington drive,Tucked away on Lexington drive, this stylish and charming little nook is more than just your traditional tapas place. They open at 5 pm and close at 11pm. This was my first experience at Ambrosia and where did the time go. First came the tomato heirloom salad which was a refreshing mix of beautiful heirlooms in shades of greens, reds, yellows, and orange topped off with a soft cheese. I also ordered the tiger prawns and sucking the sweet and spicy sauce off this juicy crustacean was definitely an experience to be savoured and not hurried. I was now tempted to try everything on the menu. Will def be back! And to top it off a 1000 point table...can't beat that!12/4/2012 12:00:00 AM
