All the plates are meant to be shared, so we tried the papaya salad, the flatbread, the tiger prawns and the samosas, and all were really good. Nice atmosphere, very attentive staff. I was a little apprehensive but as soon as I walked through the patio dining area my worries relaxed & my intrigue heightened. We were promptly seated despite being a tad late on our reservation (the sign is small, but if you see Papa Mio's you're there). Service great, good exceptional, ambience perfect for a date night. The group areas seemed intimate but appropriately spacious. The buzz was perfect not too loud but no crickets chirping. I will definitely return and Im bringing newbies each time. The outside is inviting, the patio is lovely and would be wonderful when the weather is nice. We were seated at a high table with stools which was not so comfortable after a while, so next time I would be sure to ask for a table with chairs. The menu is limited, but everything we had was very tasty. My favorites: Mushroom flatbread, garlic/spinach flatbread and curry wedges. They have vegetarian options for most everything on the menu. We ordered doubles of some of the items because we liked them so much and had 6 in our party. The manager was incredibly attentive and we felt at home there. The food was inventive and outstanding (especially if you like it very hot). I have to say we plan on making that walk a whole lot more often. The food is Asian/Indian accented and the plates are big enough to share. The drinks on the cocktail menu pack a little punch and are interesting combinations of flavor. The drinks are a bit pricey at 10.00 each. Also my husband asked for a Jack Daniels with ginger beer and this seemed to cause some confusion as waitress said she could do the Shere Khan but with Jack instead of tequila and no orange juice. why not just Jack and Ginger beer? I think its so they can charge 10.00. Wine list could be a bit more expansive. too much Malbec which is trendy but kind of a sucky wine. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious.
This is a Asian fusion tapas style restaurant and there are about 10-12 items on the menu but we felt like the dishes were actually larger than most tapas style places. Great location, kind of dim and had very nice staff. The restaurant was a little loud for our mood so we sat outside. It was so intimate & appropriately quiet- we felt as if we were on vacation. I would almost say the patio was tranquil. We ordered a Cabernet Syrah blend, shared 3 dishes. Towards the end of dinner my sweetheart said we should go back once a month. Haha. I recommended we try a few more places since we just moved to town. It was that good. We will definitely be back. * one more thing, when it says Asian inspired cuisine you should think more Indian-Asian. Four of us were able to try almost everything on the small menu. Everything was tasty and varied. Service was also very good. The ambiance is simple and dark, but I thought it had a good vibe.
Just to clarify since the menu for this restaurant is not available online: The menu consists of two appetizers, ~8-10 "entrees", and two desserts. Everything is between $8-12. For our table of four, we ordered a total of 7 of the "entrees" and two desserts. The samosas, prawns, and kabobs seemed to be the favorites. The take is quite unique and they've managed to pull it off very well. The food is amazing. The drinks are delicious and fun. If you're budget conscious this might not be the best place however you leave feeling properly satisfied for what you spend. It's not extravagant but expect with drinks and dinner to spend between $70-100 per couple. For my wife & I, it was all worth every penny. The food is fabulous but a really nice evening with an old friend was spoiled because of the noise level. We literally had to scream at each other just to be heard. It's a shame because the food is outstanding. The room is very basic, metal furniture, done on a shoestring...which is ok, but the noise level is deafening. We had reservations, but had no preconceived idea about what to expect! We sat down and they handed us a piece of paper....we were looking for the menu!! The waitress explained that this restaurant is an Indian, Thai, Viet Namese tappas bar and that everything should be shared! We don't share well. I am glad we did, the food tasted so good, we came back the very next day for some more! The flatbreads they make taste so good!! I dont think I will be ordering pizza anymore. The steak kabob was something different, and their dessert kalhua kulfi was something I have never experienced before. Hands down to one of the most interesting and different restaurants in Houston. This place totally reminds me of environments in New York City!!

Great neighborhood gem for wine and a quick bite to eat. At the time of our visit, they were still building out the wine cellar and only offered one vineyard (Cul du Sac): the white was very fine. The real gem here was the atmosphere! Comfortable seating, pleasant decor, soft background music, friendly waitstaff all made for an excellent experience. The food dishes were also very fine. I loved everything about it. sexy ambience, flavorful food, friendly staff, and a very reasonably priced menu. So, I am not a rib person but the Gagnam ribs...muth watering and finger licking...they melted in my mouth like butter. The pork belly salad was pretty amazing too. Loved the salads too! They open at 5 pm and close at 11pm. This was my first experience at Ambrosia and where did the time go. First came the tomato heirloom salad which was a refreshing mix of beautiful heirlooms in shades of greens, reds, yellows, and orange topped off with a soft cheese. I also ordered the tiger prawns and sucking the sweet and spicy sauce off this juicy crustacean was definitely an experience to be savoured and not hurried.
