The Amber Rose is an Eastern European restaurant specializing in homemade German, Polish, Hungarian, Russian and Italian cuisines. The bar is made of Turkish marble. The beer and wine lists consist of exemplary, hard-to-find European beverages. The dining room seats 88 guests, while the spacious banquet room “upstairs” can privately accommodate 110. The building is located in the heart of Old North Dayton, where Europeans migrated during and after World War I.

The Russian Beef Stroganoff was very dry-needed more sauce. The food was presented nicely, but was tasteless with the exception of the turtle and potato soups and the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Very nice and efficient staff. Beautiful old building.

This is a great locally-owned restaurant that is known throughout the Dayton area for its Eastern European food. It's a quiet, pretty place ideal for either a romantic date or a group that wants to talk. The prices are a bit high for this to be our regular "go to" restaurant, but we love it for an occasional visit.

Good food that this ethnically unique. When the vegetable of the evening, green beans, filled half my plate and I didn't eat them because I don't like green beans, the waitress offered me something else. The namesake, Elinor, was there the night we dined and came over to our table and said "Hello". That was really cool.
