Amber India - Santana RowWe love Amber India and tryWe love Amber India and try to eat there each time were are in town from Seattle. By far the best Indian food we have ever eaten. The flavors and textures of the food are truly unique. Service was excellent and the decor is classy.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFlavorful kabobsLoved the lamb and chicken kabobs, lassi was very good too. Highly recommend the seekh kabob.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Indian food! All around great Indian food! Went there on a weekend and other than difficulty parking in Santana row it was a fantastic experience5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant ExperienceWe took a couple friends to Amber India -- it was our first dinner at a really nice Indian Restaurant. The food was good -- we would have appreciated more suggestions from the waiter, but I think he may have been respecting our conversation, which I also appreciate. It took quite awhile to get the food, but the food was excellent and the restaurant provided a good venue for conversation.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the lambLast time I was there, I had a traditional Indian dish, and the other 7 guests at my table ordered the lamb. This time I ordered the lamb to see what the fuss was. There are several lamb dishes; I had lamb kebab. It was delicious and tender. I'm not even sure it was an Indian dish, but it is the best thing I've eaten there in about 5 trips.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome as alwaysAmber India and Santana Row is my wife's favorite restaurant. I took her there for Mother's Day and it didn't disappoint. One of our favorite restaurants in the bay area, absolutely love their entire menu!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMUsually good, slow serviceFood was good as usual, although it looks like they hiked their prices quite a bit. We got a slow, slow server. She was also not that involved. Usually we get the same waiter and he's phenomenal5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful taste of IndiaWe thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday buffet where we got to try so many different items. The naan and roti baskets were kept filled with hot , just made breads. Water glasses were continually filled. A great experience.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMay 4th BrunchI took my Mom and family out for a early Mother's Day present. I really enjoyed the food and the variety. But unfortunately my family did not. I thought because it was a buffet and that there would be many choices, my family (who has little experience with Indian food) might enjoy it and find a dish they like. Unfortunately, most of their comments were that the dishes were way too spicy or hot for them or they did not like the taste of the dishes. So, I would only recommend this restaurant to people who really love Indian food and are familiar with the cuisine, not for new comers or people you want to introduce it to. Also, the noise level was loud - need more sound proofing/acoustics. The service was very good & accommodating.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have dined with Amber multipleWe have dined with Amber multiple times and always satisfied with everything and the server always checks if all is OK...5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFood heaven for Indians and others.Always a pleasure going to Amber, good food. Good service.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBest ambience and okay foodFood quality is going down. It used to be better, fewer vegetarian options.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIndian, always with a twist!Amber 'suffers' from it's location. It is very busy and that is mostly because of the food but, partly due to the high traffic location. It is certainly one of the better Indian cuisine locations in the bay area and I've eaten there many times. The food is inventive, if not adventurous. If you're looking for authentic cuisine you will be disappointed. However, if you're looking for something a little different with the emphasis on quality and a cohesive taste experience, this is a great place. Of particular note is their treatment of fish. In almost every Indian restaurant, fish is over cooked. Not at Amber. What ever fish I've eaten there, either from the tandoor, as part of a mixed dish or 'curry' the fish is perfect!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA very nice place to dineA very nice place to dine with family. Tomato soup was good. In fact, all the dishes we ordered were good. Service was extremely fast. Will definitely visit again.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty and unusual Indian foodThis is my favorite Indian restaurant in the South Bay. The food is delicious and innovative. There is a wide range of vegetarian and fish dishes, so it is easy to find something I like. The wine list is also very good. I go frequently, and always enjoy it.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI agree with other reviewers,I agree with other reviewers, butter chicken is awesome. Good Indian food in an upscale setting3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to this restaurantI have been to this restaurant a number of times for both lunch and dinner. The service and taste of food is excellent has always been excellent in the past so I was a bit surprised this time. My one suggestion for the buffet would be to heat the food more before putting it out. Some of the food was just lukewarm and not too appetizing.1/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
