  • "We had a wonderful meal. Place is small so reservations recommended for peak times. Had the flat iron steak and the scallops special. Staff was very occomodating to dietary needs (allergies) and adjusted the rock shrimp appetizer for us - amazing! Food was fresh and well prepared. Def one of our new faves. We will be going back for sure! Had the cheesecake dessert which was delicious."

  • "What can I say other than Jonathan and team once again surpassed my expectations. the pork belly appetizers were very flavorful. Sea bass with truffle risotto, divine. No question that this is one of the best dining experiences in Chester county."

  • "We took our sister in law here while she visited from San Fran. Knowing what a foodie she is, I felt pressure to find a restaurant that would not only be good but also memorable. As we left, my sister in law asked the staff to consider opening a restaurant in San Fran!!!! What a compliment!!"

  • "Prompt, courteous service. Innovative menu. Food prepared exactly as requested. Escargot flatbread was unique. Duck breast with goat cheese risotto was memorable. Had cheese plate for dessert - nice trio accompanied by phenomenal house-made jams. My wife had white chocolate peppermint bombe - she loved it! Definitely will return!"

  • "The food served was outstanding in presentation and taste. Walking thru the door we never expected such a experience we encountered here. This will be a favorite spot to entertain again and again. The BYOB is a plus as well and the prices were reasonable for the outstanding meal we had. Love this Gem!"

  • "An unexpected find in downtown Downingtown. Everyone in our party of 4 ordered different items for each course. All were excellent! The noise level however made it a bit challenging to carry on a group conversation. BYOB - so take your favorite wine or take advantage of the Martini mixers offerings."

  • "Went back to Amani's for a second time after my husband was not totally on board after a slightly disappointing meal the first time. I enjoyed it the first time and wanted to give it a second try. So happy we did! Our experience was outstanding! The restaurant was buzzing. We had a great table and a great server too. My husband loved the escargot flatbread and I had a beet salad that was delicious. For our entrees, we both had fish, one grouper and one had salmon with a strawberry coulis. Both were amazing. We loved that the owner/chef served us our entree. Nice touch. We will definitely go back to Amani sooner rather than later. We love supporting the small business man."

  • "Fantastic find on my road trip out of town. Dallas has great talent, but Amani's belongs in the top tier too. I'll be back with friends."

  • "My husband and I love Amani's and have taken some friends there on two occasions. Every time we've been there the food and service have been excellent. The only thing we have trouble with is the noise level as it gets hard to hear the person across or next to you. I wish they would put up some noise diffusers, but at any rate, we are going to try a weeknight when it might be quieter. We love the local food and seasonal menu. The staff couldn't be nicer."

  • "Food was very good! A little noisy at 8:00 on a Saturday; was hoping for a more quiet atmosphere. Overall, good experience and I would go back."

  • "We've been to Amani's on numerous ocassions and have yet to be disappointed. It is clearly one of the finest restaurants, if not the finest, that we've eveer been to. Particularly compelling is the fact that the menu changes seasonally and they strive to use fresh local ingredients. The service was impeccable, the food simply outstanding, the prices reasonable, and the chef/owner has always been accessible and pleasant."

  • "This was my third visit to Amani's and as with the first two, the food was wonderful. We'll be back again soon!"

  • "My wife, son, and I celebrated our birthdays with a Friday night dinner here, and a celebration it truly was. Our meals were scrumptious: top-quality ingredients prepared with creativity and care, but not gimmicky. My rack of lamb, my wife's grouper, and son's pork chop were done to perfection. Seasonings and accompaniments complemented without overwhelming. Manhattan clam chowder was the best I've ever had. Service was friendly, attentive, not obtrusive. Great coffee, delicious desserts - the locally made chai ice cream is to die for. The place gets noisy when everyone starts talking, and it ain't a cheap date, but we'll be back for sure."

  • "The food was fantastic and the service was great. Our waiter was very helpful by suggesting substitutions to accommodate a gluten free diet. The braised short ribs were fork tender with a delightful glaze! The only commemt I have is that it was a noisy, but we were there on a Saturday night and every table was occupied. The staff was especially accomodating when we arrived 15 minutes early. Definitely will return again, maybe during the week."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "The food was very tasty, but for the price it left something to be desired. The staff collectively was very welcoming and polite. Our waiter was also very pleasant, but not attentive at all. Service was very slow. We had only received our appetizer when the table next to us who arrived later than us received their entrees (different waiter). Given we were not in any rush, the lack of prompt service was not a problem, but not what I expected."

  • "We wen to Amani's for our 10 year wedding anniversary dinner, and were very impressed! Out server, Bob, was friendly, attentive, and knowledgable about the menu. The food was delicious. We love that most ingredients are seasonal and locally sourced. We're already talking about when we might be able to go back!"

  • "This was our first time at Amani's. We are not sure how we have not been here before. It was one of the best meals we have had in years within the Chester County area. The food was unbelievable. Our waiter was seasoned and knowledgeable. Byob kept the meal reasonable. We will definitely be back!"

  • "It was like the entire evening was just for our pleasure and comfort. I could have been in my own dining room, the ambiance was so relaxed yet professional and welcoming. as if I was in someone's personal kitchen for a family meal. Cheese sampler to start, wonderful selection of geographically diverse cheeses and home made preserves, spreads with fresh crusty bread slices Apps were over the top. Signature Oysters Amani better than oysters rockefeller! Mains included Grouper (slightly small portion), generous serving of braised short ribs. Dessert, poached pears, creme anglaise, local creamery icecream."

  • "Unable to find any fault with the food, presentation, service, quantity, or prices. That being said, everything was very nice. Bob"

  • "The food at Amani's is always excellent and this time was no exception. The service is great as well. The servers convey a knowledge and love of the food they are serving. For instance, when the server brought us a sample to try he explained what it was very well, and enthusiastically. When my friend said she didn't like one of the ingredients in the sample, he went back and made (or had made) something just for her. He also answered my questions about the type of rice which i had never had. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even better. The servers manage to enhance the experience in several ways without being intrusive."

  • "In the past 14+ months, I've been at Amani's several times, both for brunch and for dinner. Not once have I been disappointed. The entire experience of dining there is a pleasure, from the food to the wait staff to the kitchen staff. I've been fortunate to eat in several amazing restaurants in New York City, but there's something about "coming home" to Amani's that makes it even more special. I'm looking forward to my next visit, which I've already booked for the end of the month. I've invited friends from out of town to join me there, and they're already studying the menu. Can't wait!"

  • "I have eaten in restaurants literally around the globe, and I would rate this as one of my top ten places to eat again. Although it is a simple setting and a small space, the food more than makes up for it. Every part of the meal was alive with favors leaving me anxiously awaiting to see what would come next. Our server was always available but not bothersome, and the owner/chef stopped by a few times to chat which we loved. We will be headed back soon!"

  • "This is a BYOB with a fantastic menu using local farms. It is creative and delicious and rivals center city restaurants. Love this place and go anytime I can fit it in. Since it is a BYOB, it isn't hard on the pocketbook either! :)"

  • "Who would have guessed such a fabulous farm fresh neighborhood gem would inhabit the busy corner of 322 and rt 30 (across from the likes of Stella Rosa no less) and why did it take me so long to get here? Everything my dining companion and I had was mouth wateringly delicious from the delicate currants topped with brie we were greeted with to my monkfish over risotto entrée topped with surprisingly delicious crispy spinach. It won't be long before my husband and I go back. Can't recommend enough."

  • "Our first visit and both my wife and I had a wonderful meal. Tremendous value for the quality of food and service. We will definitely return. Food and service were on a par with other quality BYO's such as Sovana Bistro or Birchrunville Store Café."

  • "This is why we love Open Table - we were just looking for a new BYOB we hadn't tried, and we come across this incredibly delicious and unique restaurant. Everything about the experience was stellar - our server was attentive and professional, the food was innovative, quality, and seasonal, at a reasonable price point for the quality, and the ambiance was fun and engaging for a Friday night. We had a wonderful time and were brainstorming about whom to bring back (and soon!)."

  • "We were looking forward to going to this restaurant as it is always very booked up so we felt that must be a good sign. However service was very rushed and they seemed desperate to move you on to reseat the table. I had a steak special which was very poor. Very fatty and way overpriced. I don't usually ask the price assuming it would be similar to other menu items but I was taken aback by how expensive it was. Overall the food was pretty good but not outstanding as I was led to believe ."

  • "We have dined at Amani's several times and every time have enjoyed the food we ordered. We tell friends about it all the time. When it was my turn to pick a venue for a monthly business dinner meeting, I immediately thought of Amani's. While I was saddened to learn the Short Rib Mac and Cheese wasn't on the menu (my favorite of all time), I really enjoyed the Surf or Turf special prix fixe on Monday evening. I enjoyed the soup du jour - Coconut Curry Butternut Squash Soup. For my entree I chose Grouper with cider gastrique, quinoa and sauteed butternut squash, cranberries and spinach. And for dessert, I had the blood orange creme brulee. I loved it because it was light and the blood orange was not overpowering. Thank you!"

  • "I've been to your restaurant three times. Once for dinner, where I very impressed. Once for lunch, where I was also pleased. Finally and most recently for brunch, where I was disappointed. There was no one to seat us. Our meal was not what we expected. There was no background music and we were squished in next to a table of 8. Like I said, I've had two other dining experiences that were both pleasurable. We will come back for dinner sometime before we give up. We live in the borough and love Amani's ties to the community. We also love your commitment to local and seasonal food. We truly hope our next dining experience is much better. I would still recommend Amani's to anyone, as I'm hoping this experience was just a fluke."

  • "Since we started dining here, each experience is better and better. We love the staff, the food and the atmosphere. It was the obvious choice for my boyfriend and I to have our Valentine's day meal."

  • "We had to wait almost 20 minutes to be seated at a table. The calamari was awesome! Tuna appetizer special - ok but for $13 I would have expected a bit more than 2 tiny pieces. The 14oz Dry Aged Rib Eye at a whopping $45. I decided to bite the bullet because I love rib eye. Wow - awful! The brown sauce on it was not very good and way too much of it - like they were trying to cover something up. At first I thought it was the sauce that gave the steak a funny flavor but found out after I discarded most of the sauce that was not the case. I can't explain the taste but it wasn't good. My wife had the lobster sheppards pie. She said it was OK but nothing special. I can only say the Valentines Day treat was a major disappointment!"

  • "We had a great experience while dining at Amani's in Dtown. The special prefixed 4 course menu for the holiday was phenomenal. And the chocolate ganache tart my husband had selected for his dessert was simply outstanding. 2 thumbs up for wonderful meals we had. Will definitely go back."
