Good food and serviceThough I thought it noisy (I am the kind that finds all restaurants noisy these days) the food was good and the service was good. For my choice of wine, I selected a glass of rose because it was rose week at the restaurant. Two others at the table had two other roses . We sipped from each others glasses and decided mine was the best. One of the other rose drinkers told the waiter she would rather have a glass of the one I had and he took her glass and gave her the same rose I had without a moment's hesitation.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMbrunch vs dinnerHad dinner here a few months back and was outstanding. Brunch/lunch totally different on Saturday. Savory dishes and different menu. Only negative was mussels slightly overcooked. Appetizers we had all were delicious - octopus, mussels (enough for 4!), and smoked trout salad. Similarly, main courses of ribeye, scallops, fresh fish of the day, and cavatelli all were great. Service was very good. The sommelier was very helpful, identifying a Greek white wine based off of previous Greek grapes that we have had. The bottle didn't come for a while, so after we inquired, it turns out they were chilling it even longer because as they retrieved the bottle from the cellar, they didn't think it was the right temperature. They were also the ones to noticed that our table was uneven and fixed it before we even noticed. It's these little details that made the service exceptional. We had the Octopus a la Plancha as a starter then shared the Black Sea Bass with broccoli. Everything is delicious, especially the Octopus. The food was divine with excellent service and fabulous champagne and wine. The staff were fantastic and we sat outside under the skylight which was perfect. The ricotta doughnuts and the chicken under a brick were to die for and the vegetarian amongst us was also very happy with the choices available. I guess I expected more of a "wow" factor in the decor of an UES place that's been getting terrific reviews. We were in the front room and my guest commented, "I feel like I'm at the beach". The staff was very attentive and the food was excellent. They imbue the dishes with sublime flavors not found in the traditional boring restaurant fare.
