  • "I would love to go back but the air conditioning needs to be better. What is going to happen when the real heat finally gets here."

  • "I went for happy hour and was over charged for all but 1 of my drinks."

  • "Shrimp appetizer and dessert was the best part. The Brussels sprout salad was different but lacked flavor along with the steak and lobster ravioli. The filet mignon was not as tender as we are use to. The sauces on both entrees were somewhat bland."

  • "The pumpkin ravioli with braised short rib was simply amazing. Each by itself was really good but the magic happened when rib and ravioli were combined in one bite. A perfect match. Even better with some chianti."

  • "I love this restaurant..always delicious and the service is wonderful...I love their bangers and mash--very few places have this on the menu---a favorite of mine as is this restaurant..will be back soon."

  • "......but it was very misleading! There was a very good selection of foods on the menu. The portions were good & presented beautifully on the plates but everything was beyond bland. We were a party of four, each got different dishes and we all tried some of the others meal and we were wildly underwhelmed with everything but the pizza. Even then the pizza was good but certainly not great. I don't even know how such varied dishes could all pretty much taste like.....well, not much at all really. I even added extra crushed red peppers to my chicken to help the situation but it was still 'meh'. Sadly my last hope for flavor, the Blackberry & Peach Cobbler was also uninspired, neither tart NOR sweet. It was all just wasted calories sadly. "

  • "To say the least I was disappointed. The website boasts of their happy hour , though our hostess immediately tells us that's only during the week. While we made a res as it was a holiday the restaurant and bar were nearly empty. We were seated right away though we saw our waitress only twice to order our food and get our check. While she was friendly she never came to see how our meal was. Sadly the food was terrible! The food from our entire group was bad, we over salted mashed potatoes and under cooked fish, the food lacked both seasoning and passion. The food was beyond overpriced and they added automatic gratuity without even telling us prior. I will unfortunately not be back nor will I be able to recommend this restaurant. "

  • "Have been coming here for years. Love the food. However, the big screen TV has given the place a cheap sports bar atmosphere that's not compatible with a fine dining experience. Do the owners have any understanding of ambience? A lively bar is one thing, but having to see this giant annoying TV screen (which can be clearly seen from where I was sitting on the restaurant side) severely detracts from the dining experience that the customer is paying for."

  • "I was very pleased with the overall experience at Amalfi. The food was very good, the prices in line and the attention the bartender gave was great. BUT, my sister and I sat down to order and specifically told the waiter we had a time for the show next door and needed to eat pretty quick. Well, the food did not come out in time, and they had plenty of time, so we had to come back after the show and eat warmed food. I am sure this was more an abiration than the norm, but suffice it to say, it was a hassel. However, as I stated the other positve things made the experience still a very good one. "

  • "Food was good but the bar scene which is close to the dining area was extremely loud - hard to enjoy your dinner - loud talking and shouting at the sport events on the TV"

  • "The ambience was romantic , dimmed candle light setting , waitresses were attentive and courteous . Place was clean and the good was great. Will be going there again . "

  • "My Wife and I have been coming here for a little over 5 years. I couldn't find a restaurant for Valentine's. Checked open table and boom, one last reservation. It was a great night. Lots of parking in the street or Valet. Food was great. Very friendly people. Waiters are extremely kind and very helpful when it comes to choosing a plate and wine. This has become our go to place because of our good experiences here. A big plus is that it's inexpensive."

  • "I was impressed. I have been searching for an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles since I moved here in July 2012. I have been to several where it was old school. The Amalfi was great and I loved the risotto I had it with the three lamb pieces on top and it was amazing. Will go back. Also try the chocolate mousse..."

  • "My husband and I took our 15 year old daughter and her friend to see a performance in Room 5 Lounge located upstairs from Amalfi's. We made a reservation for 6:45. We arrived early, 6:30, and was seated right away. Our waitress was prompt, friendly and knowledgable. Food was delicious, drinks were good and dessert was yummy. As the evening wore on it did become pretty crowded so I would recommend making reservations. Had a wonderful experience and will definitely be going back. We ordered: roasted vegetables, smoked salmon and chicken Parmesan. All dishes were cooked perfectly and delicious."

  • "Food was ok- nothing special or fantastic. Service was great- but there were also only 3 other tables when we were there. Crab cakes were delicous and fresh, pasta was ok. Bread was nothing special and kind of a disappointment for an Italian restuarant."

  • "I ordered the rissotto which was advertised as having porcini mushrooms.......it did not smell, look or taste like porcinis, just the regular white supermarket mushrooms. I spoke to the waitress who told me that she would mention it to the chef so he "could improve the quality in the future." Don't take your customer for a fool!"

  • "The dinner and service was excellent! I also liked that we didn't feel rushed during out meal and we could take our time eating and conversing. I would recommend this gem of a restaurant."

  • "We've been here twice w a large group for dinner. Reason for choosing the restaurant was our friend was performing upstairs and we wanted the convenience of walking up to Room 5 after our meal. Having said this, I'd come back here again just to eat. Service is friendly and efficient. Bread served before the meal was warm and toasted, bartender makes a good dirty martini and the wine list is decent. Kale salad was one of the best I've had and calamari was tender fresh and not overly breaded. Enjoyed the halibut (It was a special) and husband had the chicken parm. Can't recall what others in our group had but no complaints. cobbler was fresh and not overly sweet, but it was warmed in the microwave, making it too hot and not crisp on the top."

  • "We were 6 girls on a birthday night out. Food is delicious! Been here before, and came back, and will again. My fav. is the grilled salmon, and you get a lot of it, it's really goooood!! We had very various different dishes from tomato soup, pizza, ceasers salad, steak and yay Salmon - all good! Atmosphere very nice, cozy. Very good winelist. Good service - incl. birthdaycake with candle, thank you!! Only minus, but really MINUS: we were all looking forward to our Italian after-dinner coffees, and the waitress told us we could not order coffees as their espresso machine is broken since 2 months! Seirously?! ! At an Italian restaurant. That is almost unbelievable, really. If an espresso machine breaks, well get a new one, pronto! Please?!!"

  • "There is a relaxed feel with a fireplace. The food is fabulous. It hasn't let us down. We have been eating here for years. We come here for our artichoke and mushroom pasta. You will love it. The creme brulee is the best. We come here to celebrate birthdays."

  • "I love this place. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or a special occasion, Amalfi has a variety of options. I often stop in and dine in the bar area on the way home from work. And I've formally dined there with both groups and small, intimate dinners. Wonderful food, great wine list, nice people."

  • "The 3-course prix-fixe is good value. Desserts were excellent, big. Soup seemed canned, but mains were creative and quite tasty. Wines reasonable, service attentive. Minor disappointments were that the interior is more cavernous and less cozy than photo suggests, and btw there aren't any tablecloths."

  • "I'd been wanting to try Amalfi for a while because I pass it every day on my drive home but it won't be a place I go back to. The wait staff was very nice but they were disorganized, we ended up being presented with some sort of oil infusion at the beginning of our meal but nothing accompanied it - looked like other tables may have gotten the requisite bread basket. Our appetizers and meals arrived 30seconds apart and worse, we weren't offered another beverage until desert - even though our beer AND water glasses had been empty since our appetizer. Food was nothing special. The atmosphere wanted to be romantic but we were packed in like sardines and it was only Tuesday! There was also a painting class happening during our meal…bizarre"

  • "Visited the restaurant as part of the dinela. The selection was great and the portions were ridiculous, not in a bad way. Had the crab cakes, salmon and creme brûlée. My partner had the marguerita pizza, pasta, and brownie with ice cream . All tasted delicious."

  • "We came to Amalfi's on Sunday night which also happened to be when Paint Nite was held there. Paint Nite seems like a cool thing but for regular diners it was very noisy. Food was very good-- we had crabcakes and pizza for appetizers and both ordered the pumpkin ravioli pork belly dish. One of us really liked the ravioli but the other thought the sweetness of the ravioli was too overpowering even when consumed with the meat. Desserts were great-- flaming creme brule and a large warm brownie with ice cream. Note they have $20 corkage fee. Most beers were $6."

  • "Great food, service and ambiance. I just wish they had a better wine selection. I really don't like any of their choices of white by the glass and feel disappointed by their wine list, it used to be a lot better."

  • "Rather than meeting friends for dinner somewhere else before our show at ACME, we decided to try Amalfi. I arrived first, a little before they opened and they let me and some others inside out of the cold. We were offered to have a seat up front for happy hour, or a seat in the back for a more traditional dinner. We chose the back and we were placed right by the lovely, warm fire. The service was fabulous and the food was great; we all enjoyed our entrees. After checking in to our show, we went back to the bar to grab drinks. It's a perfect paring of the restaurant and the theatre, and that convenience is not understated. That said, if I was in the area, I'd probably pop into Amalfi even if I wasn't seeing a show."

  • "About as bad as it gets. Loud Obnoxious music, arrogant owner, arrogant waitress, lousy seating arrangement, and the list goes on. Do you still want to go there? Do so at your own waste of an evening. Our evening was a total waste!"

  • "Sometimes you just want a place with a good fresh salad with homemade dressing, and a bowl of pasta with an appealing sauce. We split a large baby spinach salad ($12) and I had the spaghetti bolognese ($16). Both were very good, the salad would rate excellent even. Charlie had the cajun seared tuna ($27). The tuna was a good grade and perfectly cooked. There was no fire in the sauce so maybe cajun is over stating it, but all in all it was good. With two glasses of wine, our check came to $73. That's hard to beat for a saturday night. On top of that we came at 8pm, right as the theatre next door was filling up and Amalfi was emptying, so we had a nice quiet corner table. No complaints, and we will be back."

  • "I'm kind of a creature of habit and I love the pumpkin ravioli with braised short rib! My friend got this other pasta dish: spaghetti noodles with shrimp and a light sauce that was super flavorful. I can't remember the name of the dish, but it seemed healthy but delicious. We also shared the spinach with poached pear salad. It's a favorite as well."
