Great selection of tapas. They also have a great wine list. Definitely trendy and hip atmosphere. This is definitely a place where you would go to over and over again until you try everything on the menu. I would say it is about average in price. I've still yet to see what this Whole Roasted Suckling Pig is but if you do want it, they require 72 hours advance notice for all Suckling Pig orders as well as a credit card number to guarantee the reservation.

Service was excellent and food was great. We were in and out in a timely fashion without feeling rushed. Food items were explained that we were not familiar with. All was very tasty. Would go back again and bring my kids. I thing they would have a lot of fun with the Tappas.

We go out to eat all of the time and have been to Amada several times, which makes this experience even more disappointing. 1) the hostess was incredibly rude. The restaurant had many open tables. After putting us at a freezing picnic table by the door and the window, in a rock garden (?!) where standing can be perilous, we asked to move. She was unwilling to reseat us even with many visibly open tables. She also refused to let us speak to the manager. The manager came over after seeing our disagreement and easily put us at a different table. 2) I think the food has gotten even smaller. It is still incredibly tasty, but ridiculously small portions. I know tapas are small bites, but patatas bravas doesn't have to be 6 tater tots for 6 bucks. Overall avoid the hostess and the rock garden and plan on leaving hungry.

Amada was a great find. We loved the lamb dishes and the tapas with salt cod and black cod. There were so many good tapas to choose from. The Caldo Gallego (soup) was excellent. Upon leaving, the smell of garlic from the garlic shrimp made me wish I had room to order more. Our waiter was helpful and unobtrusive. We would definitely return!

The food here is decent but not superb. I started with a cheese, apple and chocolate dish that was the best choice of the night. I ordered ham croquettes which were nothing more than ordinary. The scallops were truly disappointing. The chocolate cake dessert was flat. Service was inconsistent.

If you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner this is not your place. However, if you are looking for great food with unusual options this is your place. You may sit close to your neighbors but it enhances your experience as you get to see what they are ordering. Waiting staff is very friendly and prices no more than what you would pay in most city restaurants. Our favorite place in Philly.

Our family went to Amada for our daughter's birthday celebration. We were seated at a long picnic style table in front of the windows. It was a very cold evening and there was a bit of a draft but the food and wine more than made up for it. Overwhelmed by the menu--this was our first trip-we chose the chef tasting . It was an excellent decision. We received an amazing array of dishes including one my husband specifically requested--lovely service! There was not a single miss among any of them. At the end of the meal, our server brought our daughter a special treat for her birthday. We have to go back!!

at Amada on a visit to Philadelphia. Great location for visiting Independence Hall and walking through the old city. The food was delicious and service was fine. The only thing I did not like was that the tables were too close together. Although the restaurant was not crowded when we arrived for our 12:30 pm reservation on a Saturday we were wedged in between 2 other tables and could hear their conversations. We would have liked a little more space/privacy. Despite that, I would recommend this restaurant.

We had a group and enjoyed the chef's selections. The 1st round was delicious appetizers from breads, cheeses, apples, fig/cranberry dip, lavender honey dips, pepper dips, salad wrapped in prosciutto w/fig and cheese, the dinner was fabulous with chicken and pork. I'd also recommend the seasonal sangria.

Bought our son his first drink at the bar, excellent cocktails accompanied by boquerones and mixto meat, all of which disappeared rapidly. Tuna rillettes with crispbread, spot on. The cava was room temp so we switched to wine. Excellent: pimientos de padron, gambas al ajillo, petit basque, albondigas, Chef's cheese selection with fig and cherry confit, boquerones, jamon mixto, tuna rillettes. Less impressive were the Pulpo Gallego ( larger pieces were overcooked, smaller ones perfectly done) and the patatas bravas, that looked beautiful but were served with a swirl of pimenton aioli. Valerie was helpful and knew her wines well. The only issue was the lighting which made reading the menu difficult. Great evening and we'll be back! Thank you!

After nine years of service, Amanda is still rocking. Young diners pour in with friends to enjoy the tastes, colors and energy of the place. The food here is straightforward, generally inexpensive, and flavorful. Large tapas to share. Chef Garces of Iron Chef fame has other restaurants where he can stretch his tremendous talent, but this feels like home surrounded by family. One dish stood out. Salt cod croquettes with caviar. Perfect morsals. After dining at Amanda 5 times this past year, I am sad that my work visits to Philly have resolved. This City, with its charm and wonderful restaurants, will get this foodie back.

I have dined at Chef Garces restaurant in Chicago. I am a huge fan! I run the only real Tapas restaurant in Cincinnati Ohio. Amanda is a fine offering of traditional tapas. My wife and I were there to celebrate our 27th anniversary. We started to with the Chartrutery mix, and Cheese mix platters. Next we went with the classics Patatas braves, croquettes, and medjool dates wrapped in bacon. My wife had a sangria and I had the estrella dam Lager. The food was superb, as expected, and the service was great. I wish more servers understood the menu, and the concept this well.

I received a gift card for any of the Garces restaurants and decided to try Amada. What a wonderful decision that was! Splurged and did the chef's tasting and the matching wine tasting. We received such a great variety and were able to try so much more of the delicious menu than I would have guessed! Their wagu beef was so good I could eat that for the rest of my life. Cool atmosphere, great food, and really interesting wines - I couldn't have asked for more!

Amanda is festive, youthful, bountiful. So bountiful that the chef's tasting needs a pro football player to finish each offering. So... If you don't order an item from a restaurant... And a server other than yours brings you food... And you say specifically, "I didn't order this. This isn't someone else's food, is it?" only to be told, "No, sorry, it's on the house,"... So you eat it because, hey, free shrimp... And it shows up on your bill... I paid for it anyway. My fiancee and I had a lovely time. I've just never heard of this selling technique. Maybe I should have spoken with a manager, but this was the dark spot on an otherwise beautiful evening.

Other than losing the bottom of my heel in the grate outside the restaurant, it was a wonderful first experience dining here. Many from NY recommended this restaurant to me and glad we came here this past weekend. The chef personalized my tapas because of the spices involved in their prep which I very much appreciated. Great selection of wines by the glass, nice ambience, excellent service and a fun night all around. Will try their NY branch at Brookfield Place opening in the Spring.
